Am I the only one that smells YSL's Babydoll, but without Babydoll's beautiful drydown? This one is a miss!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Naturale
Lesly101 3/2/2008 10:03:00 AM
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara has been a favorite of mine, thus, I was curious about this new "naturale" addition. However, where the old brush would literally add volume to your lashes, this thin rubbery brush darkens and lengthens the lashes, but does not make them voluminous. Also, the formula is very watery, making the lashes stick together and appear "spidery". The effect of this mascara is the look of "wet" lashes, nothing more. I'm going back to the original brush Voluminous.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Endless Lipstick in Fired Up
Lesly101 2/16/2008 11:28:00 AM
From time to time, I get a craving for a certain product. It rangers from red high heels to a fur coat, and this time I was craving RED lipstick. I never wore red lip color before, thinking that with my less-than-pillowy pout I was not allowed (or so the mags will lead you to believe). I picked Fired Up as my first choice in red, and i was right. It is a perfect, matte, deep red, without pink, blue or brown tones, just pure blood red on my lips. I absolutely love it. I don't find it drying, but I do put a thin layer of lipgloss over it. Lasting power is excellent - it becomes a beautiful light stain after 5 hours. I will definately keep this as a staple, and purchase more!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sensual Amber EDT
Lesly101 11/26/2007 6:35:00 PM
This is my favorite BBW scent! I absolutely love the lotion, cream and body spray, which lasts forever, i also have the diffuser oil, which scents my whole house for days with just 20 drops or so. Sensual Amber is a warm, rich, luxurious scent, very complex. I highly prefer the spray and EDT to the last year's LE EDP version - that had too much anise and licorice notes. I think that may be the reason why its no longer available. This year's edition with the blackberry is a downgrade as well. Thumbs up for Sensual Amber!

Fragrances -Diesel - Fuel for Life
Lesly101 11/18/2007 7:06:00 PM
All right! Its been a long time since i left a review! Thank you to all the fans! Before i digress any further, let me tell you about this fragrance. I love all things black currant (jams in particular), but many companies that used this note have not been able to capture it properly. Fuel for Life is a warm, soft scent, niether fruity nor woody singularily, but a pleasant mixture of both. There is nothing floral about it, and i'm glad jasmine got lost somewhere in the composition. The scent itself reminds me of Narcisso Rodriguez with a hint of berry and less musk. I believe its the patchouli in it. Lasting power is superb, and the lotion (i bought a gift set with the large EDP and lotion) is pure bliss! By the way - all the stores i've visited have lace on all the bottles!

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Metallic Stars Roller Shadow
Lesly101 10/26/2007 11:43:00 AM
I also purchased this at the Dollar Tree, thinking it looked much like the Revlon Metallic Eyeshadow everyone is raving about. Revlon is $9, if i'm not mistaken, and this was $1, just too good of a deal to pass up. Glitz'nGlam is a great coppery color, very shimmery, but not "glittery". I find it brings out the green in my hazel eyes, in fact, it does it better than plum eyeshadows. I will definately go back and pick up different colors! The application could not be easier - i used the roller ball to apply it to both upper AND lower lashes, and got a perfect line. Does not make a mess and stays put all day!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Insolence
Lesly101 12/17/2006 7:03:00 AM
I had another chance to try this in France this weekend, while doing some shopping. I absolutely love the bottle, and kept giving the scent multiple tries, to see if i got it wrong. Unfortunately, this smells like violet potpourri and miniature soaps you may find at an elderly woman's home - nauseating, powdery, simply unpleasant. I had three of my guy friends sniff it, and all unanimously agreed to never ever smell this again. Too bad, because i would have loved to add the beautiful bottle to my collection.

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit
Lesly101 12/5/2006 2:56:00 PM
I've looked at this fragrance for years, but never actually tested it. The notes just didnt attract my attention. However, i've recently began to like warm, oriental scents, and decided to give this one a try, and my, was i surprised! Brit smells exactly like Coty Ici, the hard-to-find drugstore fragrance. It is almost uncanny, and out of the two scents, i prefer Ici - its richer and is fraction of the price. So far, none of the Burburry scents have worked for me.

Fragrances -Carolina Herrera - 212
Lesly101 11/15/2006 10:00:00 AM
I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance - Carolina was a nice sweet scent, and 212 Sexy was a teeny bopper cotton candy scent, but this couldnt be more different from 212 Sexy! It is soft, warm, a bit powdery floral, very clean and sophisticated. I do agree with reviewers below - the scent is a little generic, but a very pleasant scent nonetheless. Perfect for office and occasions that call for understated perfume.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - With Love by Hilary Duff
Lesly101 11/5/2006 10:32:00 AM
I was intrigued by all the notes in this fragrance, some of them i've never heard before. However, the scent itself is very conflicting - its definately sweet, hard candy sweet, not at all floral (big plus in my book), oriental in type, but i cant detect enough woods or incense on my skin. The problem with this fragrance is that its doesnt have ENOUGH of any one particular note - it seems to fall short on every ingridient, thus producing a "weak" in character scent. All in all, a very pleasant fragrance, sweet, soft and unassuming, shot-to-average lasting power. Unfortunately, the men in my life were not impressed by it - they thought it smelled like cheap room freshener. I cant see myself buying it, but i would love to get this in a gift or a swap.

Fragrances -Hanae Mori - Hanae Mori Magical Moon
Lesly101 11/5/2006 5:32:00 AM
I have been desperate to try this fragrance because the moment i read its description i was laughing uncontrollably - "flowers gathered under the full moon....chemists mixed it under the full moon" - what? That is ridiculous!!! Its hillarious! Do you expect any intelligent person to believe this? The least inspired method of advertising i've heard yet. However, the scent is midly pleasant, it is reminiscent of HM Butterfly, but less sweet and much more floral. Soon after application the scent changed to soft lotion-like aroma, definately not reflecting its price. Maybe the chemists should have tried mixing the flowers with unicorn tears. I would surely buy then!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Innocent Secret
Lesly101 10/21/2006 3:42:00 AM
First off, let me disollusion you about "exclusive collaboration between Theirry Mugler and Victoria's Secret" about this scent - that is just laughable. Theirry Mugler released this fragrance in Europe in early 2006 under the name of Angel Innocent Summer Flash 2006. The company planned on making this fragrance exclusive to Europe, but i'm glad to see american customers will now have a chance to try it. In my opinion, this IS very close to original Angel Innocent, but has more prominent, fresh berry notes. I detect a strong black currant note, one of my favorites. It isnt as cloying as original, either, but lasting power is not as strong. Lesser price is definately a plus. Overall, i prefer Innocent Secret (or as we call it here in Europe Summer Flash) to the original version.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Desire
Lesly101 10/19/2006 5:58:00 PM
I've purchased Dream Angels Heavenly on my DH's request, and have been using it occasionally for his benefit, even though it didnt really impress me. However, this scent is very fresh and romantic. It is definately heavy on peony, and i love the plum note. If i could exchange my Heavenly for Desire, i definately would!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Baby Phat - Golden Goddess

I sprayed this on my wrist, thought it smelled OK, so sprayed it on my neck, too. Went up to DH and asked his opinion. I told him it was "Kimora's". He said "Yeah..kim-over and spray this in the bathroom when you're done". Hehehhe...
