Cleansers -Sisley - LYSLAIT Cleansing Milk with White Lily
rated 3 of 5

Having tried the Hydra-Flash cream and being super happy with it I decided to buy this as I was in desperate need of a "good" cleansing product to take the make-up off. Well yeah it does the job. Only problem is the film it leaves on my face afterwards. I have to rinse it out like crazy and even use another product to get rid of it. This is caused by the Parafinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), so yeah your skin will not break out but the film that stays on your face will prevent other products from sinking into your skin. If you want to get rid of it using another product you risk irritating your skin (esp if you have sensitive skin). Which is why I wonder for which reason this Mineral Oil is used in SO many lines dedicated to sensitive or dry skin. Because it is not moisturising at all. OK so I'll never buy this again. So I'm never going to buy this product again

Treatments -Sisley - Hydra-Flash Formule Intensive
rated 5 of 5
Leonidas 5/5/2013 6:22:00 AM

So just to frame this review, I have had hormonal acne problems all my life, I have been taking the pill for 10 years and that has rid me of the acne but my skin which used to be combo-ish, has become quite dehydrated from all the harsh topical acne treatments it has been subjected to since I was a teen. I've been trying to re-hydrate my skin for more than 10 years with LRP - Avene - Lutsine etc but while they are really good products in general I never found that they were doing much difference to me, apart from not being to creamy so they didn't give me breakouts... So somehow I ended up buying this Hydra-Flash cream (not a mask) and the very first time I put it on went a bit like a revelation. At first I was a bit scared because it came out so creamy that I cringed thinking this is not a texture I want on my skin (scared of breakouts) but since I had forked out 125€ for this I was determined to try it. And well I felt refreshed. I applied it and I felt my skin was drinking the whole cream up and feeling a little less tight already. I somehow felt that the flaky skin peeled off a bit. So I added a bit more a quarter of an hour later. :) So it's a creamy textured moisturiser, it sinks in really fast so I can apply my make-up on it straight away. It leaves a matte finish but my skin still feels supple. I do get a bit shiny by the end of the day but nothing drastic. The smell takes a bit of getting used to. At first I thought it was weird but now I really like it. It's very expensive though so keeping that in mind I only use a pea-sized amount on my face. I use it every morning and at night I either use Hydra-Flash OR Emulsion Ecologique, depending on how my skin feels. I feel that a little goes a long way. Now, a tube of Hydra-Flash later I am extremely happy with the outcome. My skin is not a 100% perfect of course but it is much better than it was when I started. I'm def buying it again, and have decided to try the Hydra-Globale for the summer to see how it goes.

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Leonidas 3/9/2011 8:19:00 PM

I bought this because I had been wanting to try it out for ages and I suddenly saw it was available in a shop near me so I jumped on the opportunity. Plus it was actually cheaper than the Klorane one that I bought a few years ago (9 euro for Klorane 5 euro max-depending on the fragrance for Batiste) You have plenty of choice in the fragrances, I personally tried the Original, Fresh and Tropical ones. I got compliments on all three although I do have my own preferences. The product in itself is awesome. just shake the bottle and spray it on to your roots. Then brush till the powder isn't visible anymore, you can also tap your roots with the palm of your hand, it helps getting rid of the resisting powder. Your hair looks clean and smells fresh, and it actually helps with giving a bit of volume to your hair, this stuff fluffs up my bangs and actually tames them quite well. There isn't a whole lot of product in the bottle, I'd say you can get approximately 3 whole head uses in a can. or a bit more if your scalp is a little less oily or just oils up in certain places more than others. Overall a great product. I wouldn't be buying the "Tropical" or the "Original" one again as I don't adore the smell but I'll def buy the "Fresh" fragrance one again and I'll be trying the other ones as well because I'm curious :p Can't wait to try the shimmer ones for a party :)

Shampoo -Batiste - Tropical Dry Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 3/9/2011 8:09:00 PM

I bought this because I had been wanting to try it out for ages and I suddenly saw it was available in a shop near me so I jumped on the opportunity. I first started with the original scented one. But the smell was nothing special so I decided to try this one out as I had read great reviews on another website a while back. This one smells like coconut, I'm not a big fan of the smell to be honest but I get compliments each time I use this. The product in itself is awesome. just shake the bottle and spray it on to your roots. Then brush till the powder isn't visible anymore. Your hair looks clean and smells coconutty, and it actually helps with giving a bit of volume to your hair, this stuff fluffs up my bangs and actually tames them quite well. There isn't a whole lot of product in the bottle, I'd say you can get approximately 3 whole head uses in a can. or a bit more if your scalp is a little less oily or just oils up in certain places more than others. Overall a great product. I wouldn't be buying the Tropical one again as I don't adore the smell but I'll def buy the "Fresh" fragrance one again.

Treatments -Ducray - Sélégel, anti-dandruff treatment shampoo, dry dandruff
rated 5 of 5
Leonidas 1/23/2011 12:12:00 PM

I recommend this if you have a dandruff problem. It was my mom's bottle but I used it anway (athough my dandruff wasn't dry but oily) hehe.. The active ingredient in this is micronized selenium disuphide and ichthyol (as written on the bottle. I threw the ingedient list away.) Anyway this is a treatment that you should use twice a week for six weeks. It's a very thick orangish-brown product, kinda hard to get out of the bottle but you don't need too much as it lathers up very well, you have to leave it on for a few minutes then rinse. The smell is quite wierd. It's not unbearable though. And when you're finished your hair smells a bit of the product. But you can always do another shampoo after doing the treatment to take the smell away. What I did was use the Sélégel on just the scalp then rinse it out and then washed with a normal shampoo. I found that it works very well and quite fast. after two shampoos I was rid of the dandruff and have been dandruff free for a year. I've had a dandruff problem for ever. I generally do a treatment every once in a while when I find it coming back. I used Vichy Dercos before which is just as good as this one.

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Body Wash
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 1/23/2011 11:57:00 AM

I bought this because there was a sale on it. I have to admit that I ususally find that Body Shop is quite expensive for what they offer. This is 13$ full price for a 250ml bottle. Anyway, so tea tree body wash. I bought this because I tend to have a few blemishes on my upper arms and sometimes bigger ones on my upper back. It's probably something to do with the hair products I use but yeah I haven't found out which one exactly. :/ This works well. my arms are much better, they're dyring up and on their way out apparently. I don't know about the back yet since the zits happen more randomly but since I've been using this (2 weeks) I haven't noticed anything new. The packaging is the same as always, is it me or are the bottles really hard to squeeze? maybe it's done on prupose to get us to use less product? Dunno. I use this on a loofah so it lathers up well and a little goes a long way. I'd buy this again if it goes on sale again.

Deodorants -L'Occitane - Purifying Roll-On Deodorant
rated 5 of 5
Leonidas 1/23/2011 11:35:00 AM

I bought this deodorant a while back (I think I'm near the year mark). I hesitated for a while between this and the stone deodorant. It's a clear bottle and product and it's a roll on. I generally apply this after I shower or bathe and wait a bit for it to dry. It can take a minute or two. The smell is quite unusual for a deodorant and can be a bit off-putting to some people (it smells mainly of cardamom but the other ingredients are eucalyptus and lemon) but as soon as it dries down I find that it just smells of your skin but slightly fresher. This def works. I'm not a very stinky person (luckily) in general but yeah I happen to smell sweaty when I've been running around for a few hours. And since I've used this I find that I don't smell at all. The only thing I noticed is that if I've had a "big day" the cardamom/eucalyptus smell will be a bit stronger, but it still smells fresh. A very nice product IMO. I bought this for 14euros. and I find that you don't need to be constantly reapplying so I have 1/3 of the bottle left. It says it's good for 12 months after the first use. So I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy this again or try the stone crystal deodorant they have at the store. But I'm def considering buying it again.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Liquid Lift Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 1/23/2011 11:18:00 AM

Love this foundation. It's very easy to apply. I generally use 3 pumps of it for my whole face and neck but I do realize that I could use just 2. It's a creamy texture that glides on super fast and evenly. The coverage is very good, I have loads of pinkish acne scars on my chin and this covers them perfectly without having to cake it on. If I get a new pimple (which is darker red) I just dab a teeny little bit more on like you would do with concealer. I also add a bit more for my faint under-eye circles. The SA said this was good for dry skin. I don't really know where I stand on that. Generally I apply plenty of moisturizer before putting the foundation on but some times I'm too lazy to moisturize and I feel that the foundation is a bit harder to apply, it doesn't glide as easily, but you still get good coverage and it doesn't cake. It just takes a bit more work. The colour is quite natural although it's not an exact match with my skin colour (they don't have the correct colour for me.. boo *snif*) I think it's a tad too dark and slightly too pink but no one seems to notice it and a lot of people tend to think I'm not wearing foundation at all (in a good way!-- I hope) The packaging: it's a bottle with a pump on top. There's plenty of product in it (30ml--1.01fl.oz). My bottle lasts several months and although it's quite expensive (IMO) there is more product than the YSL foundation I used to buy so overall I'd say it's cheaper... I'm on my 3rd bottle right now. So the main reason I gave this a 4 is there is no exact match for my skintone and you def need to moisturize before using this (well you should anyway no matter the foundation). Other than that, a great foundation.

Polishes -Bourjois - Fixant Brilliant
rated 1 of 5
Leonidas 7/7/2010 1:15:00 PM

NEVER AGAIN! This can be nice if you just want to add alittle shine to your natural nails. it dries fast. BUT if you want to use it as an actual base coat/top coat it's so not worth it. First of all it hardly looks like you put a top coat on your coloured nail polish. hardly shiny at all definately not the glass effect i'd like to have. Then it actually causes bubbles to appear underneath the nail polish. I've never had this happen ever! It's not on the sides, it's bang in the middle of the nail. I was wearing ChG Yellow Polkadot Bikini which isn't totally opaque and I noticed that all my nails had a huge air bubble forming under the nailpolish. Then noticed that it was happening with all my nailpolishes. And last of all. it's so expensive!! almost 9€ for a top coat? Not worth it. it's less expensive than Nivea's but at least Nivea's works..

Polishes -Poshe - Polish Reviver
rated 2 of 5
Leonidas 6/24/2010 11:05:00 AM

I don't really feel that this helps all that much. Yeah it'll thin the polish out great for one application but when I want to use the nail polish again I'll have to use the thinner again. Plus the bottle wasn't full when I recieved it. This probably should be in a glass bottle to avoid it evaporating so much. I wouldn't buy it again.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama
rated 1 of 5
Leonidas 11/7/2009 2:03:00 PM

I never thought I'd actually hate a Lancôme mascara. I've tried most of them and even if not all are as good as my darling Magnificils they were always good. Now this one is a joke. Volume? Where? The brush is always full of product and manages to gunk up my lashes.. and I always get some on my eyelids no matter how careful I try to be. As most Lancôme mascaras it takes ages to dry. Honestly it does nothing for my lashes. The only plus is it doesn't flake. Won't be buying again!!

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop - Born Lippy in Raspberry
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 5/6/2007 10:14:00 AM

This is my favorite colour lip balm. It's a nice blueish pink in the pout without sparkle or glitter. Very easy to apply gives a pretty shine and subtle colour. The only downside is that it hardly smells like a rasberry. Other than that it's quite nice. it most certainly isn't the best think to use to protect your lips on those cold winter days... BUT It doesn't dry up my lips at all. love it. I might be rebuying this colour (although I rarely do since I like change) because it actually looks almost like my lip colour.

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop - Cranberry Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 5/6/2007 10:08:00 AM

I bought this for my mom one or two years ago. It's a pretty reddish brown colour with gold sparkles.. applied it colours very lightly and naturally the lips, i feel a little bit the glitter. It glides on quite easily. I wouldn't buy this again for myself because I like changing colours...

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Cranberry Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5
Leonidas 5/6/2007 9:58:00 AM

I love the smell of this thing. It's sweet but not too sweet.. and actually quite refreshing.. The smell lingers on for a while and I love smelling this on my BF (yes he uses my girl stuff when he comes over :op)... It leaves my skin quite smooth too, not drying at all. The packaging is the same as for all Body Shop shower gels but the sticker is more festive. The price a bit expensive though I think I paid €10 for this.. I'll be buying it again next christmas but maybe in a smaller bottle ..

Blush -NARS - Desire
rated 5 of 5
Leonidas 5/6/2007 9:44:00 AM

I love this blush!!! I initially wanted something a bit more mauve/ a bit darker but the SA said that with my colouring Orgasm or Desire were the best. I'm a PPP with dark brown eyes and medium brown hair Since I was not quite sure about Orgasm (not quite sure that peachy colours suit me so well) the SA applied this on my cheeks... Love at first sight. Quite easy to apply and blend and it goes with most of the e/s I have so I only really need this colour. I've had this for 6 months more or less and although I use it every day there's hardly a dip... It comes in the usual black rubbery case, same size as the e/s duos. It's well worth the money IMO. i'll certainly be repurchasing and I might try Orgasm anyway just to see...
