Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship
Leeah 3/18/2013 2:46:00 PM
Just like most of the HE products, okay at first but after a few uses I'm not impressed. It seems like all the HE products are the same. I personally need a LOT of it to get any kind of silky/defrizz results. I don't have a lot of hair and it's thin at that, so that's annoying. I saw no other pros even with using tons of it. I also have to say the design of this bottle made me throw it out sooner than I should have. It got way too difficult to handle in the shower. I got frustrated just trying to get the conditioner out of the bottle I threw it away maybe half full. For the blah results (with the amount I needed) it wasn't worth it. I think I'll officially quit on HE products especially if this bottle design keeps up. It's not so cheap either.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Complexion Brush
Leeah 3/18/2013 2:35:00 PM
Love it. I recently realized how important brushes are and then I found this! Totally love it and use it everyday. Super soft and really covers my face so well. I use a mineral power that comes with a brush. I used to think that brush was good but by comparison, no way! This brush is so smooth, soft and actually moves. It's not stiff like some brushes. Perfect size as well. Definitely would buy again. Have bad this for about a year and it's still in fantastic condition.

Bronzers -New York Color - Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder
Leeah 3/18/2013 2:28:00 PM
I did see a noticeable color when I put this on but one side was two red and the other was too brown. Mixed wasn't a good combination either and it wasn't really easy to mix them because of how the compact was set up. I ended up dropping this and half of the side I was mostly using (the more brown one) broke. Not bad though, I guess depending on your skin color. I am pretty fair. Liked that it wasn't shimmery. Cheap also which was a plus. Not very much in the compact so good to try if you're unsure. Might be better suited for someone who has some color already. Was a little harsh on me.

Primer/ Corrector -New York Color - Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer
Leeah 3/18/2013 2:15:00 PM
First I will say that I'm relatively new to the world of primers. I tried a few other DS primers that were more expensive and just didn't like them. I saw this and for the price I figured, eh why not. I liked how it felt on my hand in the store and saw it wasn't really shimmery as noted on the packaging. So, I gave it a go. I actually use it daily. I figured I'd wind up trashing it! I have pretty patchy, dry skin right now thanks to winter and that alone makes concealing tough. This really helps hydrate those areas for me personally without making me look gunky. Still no shimmer look noted when applied to my face, thank goodness. Instead I noticed a "glow", not a shine per say. I don't know that it helps my concealer last longer; I don't think it does but I like the feel of it and for that reason alone I use it and would buy it again. I only gave 3 lippys because I don't felt like it did what it claimed to do... Make my makeup really last longer.

Mascara -New York Color - City Curls
Leeah 3/15/2013 3:52:00 PM
Fantastic! So cheap and works so well. I spent so long spending so much money on mascaras only to have them lose shape, curl and flake away. Not with this. I do have long lashes but they tend to fall flat. I use a curler real quick then brush this on. I don't over apply and have been complimented many times on my lashes, even asked if they were false lashes a few times, which I never wear. This has been my best mascara find to date, at this this price, I could not be happier.

Styling Products -John Frieda - Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Creme
Leeah 3/14/2013 4:34:00 PM
Love it! Non greasy and makes my damaged, dry hair look awesome. Especially on the go when I can't spend too much time working on it at home. Smells great and doesn't weigh down hair. Little bit goes a long way for me. Really helps mask damaged split ends (which I have so many of and just cannot help to my wits end!) and also fly aways. Super helpful for dry hair in winter and also when humidity strikes in summer. My hair is pretty fine and straight, shoulder length. Have already repurchased another to leave in my desk at work and will again for sure. Overall a fantastic finishing cream that helps conceal flaws.

Shampoo -Farouk CHI - Nourish Intense Hydrating Silk Bath
Leeah 3/14/2013 4:26:00 PM
Over the past few years I've really been wanting to get my hair in better health. Less dying, and more focus on how I treat it. I started evaluating my products and thought maybe there was something to be had with these expensive hair products. I figured I'd start with shampoo and always hearing raves for CHI I bought this. My hair has old color in with minimal (new) highlights, is should length, straight and pretty fine & damages easily. With this I didn't see anything great vs the other shampoos I usually buy from the DS. I don't NOT like it but I don't see anything great it to warrant a repurchase. Especially not for the price.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Black
Leeah 3/12/2013 4:17:00 PM
Love this! This is the basis of my look. This product with the brush, not the sponge has become very hard to find. There was a learning curve to learn how to use this but I now find it very easy. I've been doing it for years and can do it quick now with no problems. I've tried to switch to gel liners but I just don't like it as much. I suppose it's a learning curve as well. This stays on so well. Doesn't smudge for me or crack like some eyeliners do. Even after a super long day it still looks awesome. I only do the top lid with this stuff.

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
Leeah 3/12/2013 4:10:00 PM
I bought this after becoming a DHC customer for their moisturizer and after reading how great it is to wash your face with oils. I was excited to try this as I'm a big proponent of face/skin health and premature aging. I found this was great for my occasional dry skin (especially this winter) when it came time for washing. It was also great, obviously with removing makeup. However, my face felt dirty, greasy like. My pores felt clogged. I felt like I had a film of oil on my face. I did totally rinse it off, so I know they wasn't the issue. I found myself washing my face again to remove this feeling. I used the product up best I could but as a makeup remove mostly just so it wouldn't go to waste as it wasn't cheap.

Moisturizers -DHC - Rich Moisture
Leeah 3/12/2013 4:01:00 PM
This is my second bottle of this lotion, soon going on my third. About two years ago I was going nuts looking for a good lotion. My skin is combo and sensitive. My mom actually had a bottle of this she purchased and didn't end up really using; I tried it and really liked it! It's not greasy, heavy feeling and yet not light enough to make you feel that you need more and more. In the winter I will say my skin does crave a little more moisture in some spots but it is just fine in summer. Absolutely no problems when I also apply SPF and makeup.

Moisturizers -Trader Joe's - Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion
Leeah 2/8/2011 2:59:00 PM
I started using this lotion after I picked it up figuring I may as well give it a shot. It was summertime and I loved it off the bat. Into these terrible winter months, however, I find that it isn't moisturizing enough for me. I do not have very dry skin, but with winter I do need some help from my products. I have sensitive, and sometimes acne prone skin; it was fine with me in regards to these issues. Overall I think I'll use it for summertime if I don't find anything else. As others have said, it can be a bit shiny upon first applying it, but I have found that it goes away, especially after make up. I don't use much facial make up, but my face doesn't seem shiny when I'm all done and ready to leave the house.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze
Leeah 12/14/2009 12:09:00 PM
This so far is the only self tanner I keep going back to. The thing I hate most about it, though, is the glitter that's in it. I try to put it on at night, let it dry, then sleep. If I do it right, it comes out fine. But sometimes I forget so that means I need to put it on before showering and give it a few hours. The glitter isn't subtle enough for me to walk out of the house with it on. Despite all of this, I love the stuff. The color is instant which I really like. I'm kind of pale, so especially in winter, I like something that you'll see right away and not take forever to develop. If you use it every other day, the color will last. I don't think it's fake looking, but this could be because I don't put on numerous applications. I use one "layer" and that's all. It is just enough to make me look alive, which is all I really want. I use it in the summer also, along with other self-tanners that I'm trying out. So far, I've had good results, so I'll keep buying it.

Self Tanners -Dove - Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer with Subtle Self Tanners for Fair skin tones
Leeah 12/14/2009 11:55:00 AM
I bought a pump bottle of this stuff maybe two years ago. I really started using it over summer, hoping to get some color since I'm sort of pale and don't have the patience to sit in the sun (plus I don't want the effects of doing that...) I like the packaging a lot. Most of my other self-tanners are packaged poorly; I like the pump bottle a lot. I hope they still make it! I do believe it helped give me some color over summer but as I'm trying it now over winter, I don't know if I'm seeing anything from it. I use it daily, mostly on my chest, neck and arms. Occasionally I'll put it on my face but since I break out easily I don't do that as often as anything else. I'm not seeing anything drastic, if at all. Maybe it was just balancing out my color over summer and adding it to, I'm not sure. I'm still using it, but I am looking for other self-tanners. I probably will buy it again unless I find something better.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Leeah 12/14/2009 11:49:00 AM
I absolutely swear by Aquaphor! Fairly recently I was put on Accutane and that's when I was first introduced to Aquaphor. Accutane dried me out like it does everyone, but I was put on it over winter. My lips so got dry, they started to crack and bleed. It hurt to talk, smile, and even move! My dermatologist saw this at my next appointment and he gave me some sample sized Aquaphor, telling me it could be used on my lips and skin. Before Aquaphor, I was trying every lotion and chapstick-like product out there. Nothing really worked. Aquaphor has literally saved my lips and skin from the drying effects of not only Accutane, but of winter. I use it all year round. It's great because a little bit goes so far and it lasts really well. It also doesn't taste, which is an added bonus in my opinion. I also like it because it's shiny so it almost is like a lip gloss, too! As far as using it for a lotion, I use it as night only because it is shiny. I use it wherever I tend to get dry, and also around my eyes. I don't glop the stuff on, but I try to rub it in as if it were a regular lotion. I also find it's great for cuticles. Just a little bit makes them feel and look better, especially if they're dry. It's great stuff and I hope it never gets discontinued. I recommend it to everyone!

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
Leeah 9/2/2008 10:28:00 PM
I like everything about this. It is lightweight, doesn't clog pores, it's too greasy, etc. It does LOOK greasy for a little white but I find that it sinks into my skin, so to speak, and looks fine. I don't really wear much face makeup (concealer and such), but a little bit a powder, and this lotion works well with it. No complaints at all EXCEPT, do NOT get it in your mouth!
