Polishes -China Glaze - Heres Looking at Hue
Leah27bnurse 8/27/2011 9:59:00 PM
-My best friend wanted to get a manicure/pedicure last weekend and I was in her area, so I stopped by to visit and went with her to the salon. Usually I don't frequent such places (preferring to do my own) so for her sake, I got a deluxe pedicure and picked a color. Most of the colors on the shelf were China Glaze and I'm an OPI kind of girl. So I looked and found this one! I'm more for the creamy, non-shimmer, frost anything so this was a surprise for me because I love it! It's like a mocha brown, but it shimmers in different colors looking goldish-light brown one moment and then pinkish/purple shimmer the next. It's lovely in the sunlight and I've had it on a whole week with no chips! Granted there was a top and bottom coat as well. It's just lovely (and I tend to bang my toes and all that) it has really lasted! I realized today that I would soon have to take the nail polish off but didn't want to miss this color so I ordered on Ebay (I'm not sure this is made anymore). Go and get it- it's a lovely neutral with a smooth light frost!!

Eye Primer -Kat Von D - High Voltage Eye Primer
Leah27bnurse 3/12/2011 9:59:00 PM
-I first received this as a sample from Sephora- the Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer in "skin" (a nude-beige). I LOVE this stuff. I finally ran out of the sample and had to go get the full size (which is cheaper than other high-end brands and still works great). I have had touch and go eye shadow primers before. I want my shadow to stay put and not line in the crease in my eye at the end of the day. This stuff creates a matte, smooth nude-skin tone color to start with and also soothes the eye lid and goes on smoothly. It also comes in a pink-beige-pearl (stellar) and in a deep grey (smoky). It does what it says- keeps that shadow in place! One warning though- it is a bit thinner than other thicker primers. I forgot about this and swiped too much on my lids! Just a dab will do and you are set. Enjoy!

Polishes -Borghese - B330 Milano Taupe

-This nail polish reminds me of OPI's Dulce de Leche. Same nude-pink color. A solid creamy color that takes 2-3 coats to finish. It's a wonderful nude just like the OPI version (which I love) and I have to say- I may disagree with the previous reviewer. Perhaps a bad formula or something else? If there are chipping issues, I would suggest go for OPI's Dulce de Leche if necessary but it wasn't at the store I went to, this was, so I grabbed it. I actually love this color on my toes as well because I just want a hint of color sometimes and that's all. A great nail polish overall for me. Enjoy! ;) (a great color for any skin type really)

Polishes -OPI - Rumples Wiggin

-I was walking by the display and grabbed this color off the shelf. I was surprised to find that I really like this color rather than just an 'okay' lilac color. It's a creamy formula and goes on smoothly (like most OPI polishes do). To me, it's the opposing force to You Don't Know Jacques!. I love YDKJ as a dark shade on my toes and nails but tend to tire of it after awhile. This reminds me of a bold lilac-white version of that (YDKJ) as in creamy texture, smooth SHINY/glossy appearance and long-lasting nail color. I imagine it will look even better once I get my feet a little more tan in the coming spring and summer! But still, for my fair-yellow tone, it looks great even on the pale feet. Enjoy!

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour in Cashmere

I first received this eye shadow for free, yes FREE from a March of Dimes walk thing for volunteers at my college. I liked the color but wasn't sure about it at the time after a few uses, I gave it to my then, mother-in-law. 2 years later, I regret it...I went and bought this eye shadow because I realized that I wanted a more natural daytime look. And viola! It's a beautiful neutral color, with enough hint of color to show it is definitely there. I can't stand wearing neutral colors that don't show at all. This color is smooth, even, and wonderful to wear on the eyelid. No irritation for a sensitive skin person like me but definitely would use a primer to keep it on longer. Just a few swipes, add some natural mascara and that's it! A little $$ (going rate at Sephora is $22 as well as the Laura Mercier site and other places) but worth it. It is a well-made eye shadow that looks very professional. Enjoy!

Polishes -OPI - You Don't Know Jacques!

I'm actually not one for a dark nail polish (especially on my fingernails) but this is a really fabulous color. I put this on last night to go out with friends. It looked brown almost when I put it on my nails, but after a couple of coats, it was a dark grey color. Later on in the night under different lights, it looked almost like a dark-grey plum color. It's a great color on toe nails or on fingernails! I got my bottle on Ebay for a little cheaper. Just know that OPI came out with another replica of this shade for this fall, but it's called "suede" at the end of the name. It's a glitter version of this color. I'm not one for glitter, but if you do, go for it! I personally like the classic, smooth color- no frost, no sparkles. I know it seems like a weird color at first, but it really grows on you!!! Enjoy! ;)

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Guavagold
Leah27bnurse 6/28/2009 10:16:00 PM
Just got this a week or so ago. It is a lovely peachy-pink color with a gold sheen to it. It is not gaudy, just beautiful- your lips look hydrated, and it stays well. It is a bit sticky, but I don't mind that because it really lasts a long time on your lips because of that. It feels like I've put on a protective coat on my lips as I walk out into the sun (not only the spf, but it stays well put). Only thing is the sticky- your hair may get caught on a windy day. I'm usually not for sticky stuff, but this color and spf is great! No real flavor or scent. Just a lip gloss of great color. I would get this again, the color and lasting stay with SPF 15 is good. Giving a 4 for the sticky is all. (put the pics up a week or so ago as well. Enjoy!)
