Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

I loved this product from the second I put it on, and realized it was a perfect match to my skin tone! It was the first time I was able to find a match in a liquid foundation. My roommate can actually tell when I use it, and says my skin looks flawless. I have very sensitive, acne prone, combination skin - super oily with dry patches. Be advised - this product WILL bring out any flakes or dry patches, so definitely exfoliate and moisturize before using (which is what you should do before applying liquid foundation, anyway!) I also set it with loose powder, and would definitely recommend doing so to anyone with oily skin. The shimmery-ness, which gives you a "dewy" glow, personally makes me look a bit greasy, so I just tone it down with some powder! I find that if I pump the foundation onto the back of my hand and pat it a little, then use my fingertips to apply it to my face, most of the shimmer is actually left on the back of my hand and not on my face. Basically, I have no complaints about this foundation! I'd consider it HG status. It did not make me break out, doesn't feel heavy on my skin, has a good medium-coverage, love the sanitary pump dispense of the product, and affordable. I will definitely continue using it!

Styling Products -Redken - OUTSHINE
rated 5 of 5

I got a sample of this from my sister's salon. Let me first say that I do not have thick or frizzy hair, it is more thin, fine and grease-prone. I decided to try this out, since my ends could use some taming due to breakage and splitting. The sample came in a small, red squeeze tube. I was not expecting the creamy consistency, but I like it since it makes it much easier to get the desired amount. I apply this to towel-dried hair before blow drying and flat ironing. I squeeze out maybe HALF of a pea-sized drop of this onto my fingers, rub it between both hands and then gently glide my fingertips over just my ends. As soon as I run the flat iron over my ends, they feel very soft and smooth! I was very surprised and impressed that this does not make my hair look greasy at all. I'd definitely recommend it. The ONLY reason I chose "No" for buying again is simply because I got this as a free sample. It will last me a long time since I don't have a lot of frizz factor with my hair and only require very little amount of product to get the desired smoothness on my ends.

Conditioner -Pantene - Beautiful Lengths
rated 2 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 10/27/2009 12:39:00 PM

I have damaged hair that is prone to breakage but these products were simply too heavy for my fine hair. I ended up flat and greasy a few hours after washing. It's also too heavily scented for my liking. BEWARE if you have sensitive skin! Within a few days, this product made me break out in painful cystic acne on my face, neck, back, chest and basically anywhere that my hair came in contact with my skin! I had the same reaction to the TRESemme anti breakage conditioner. I believe it is due to Dimethicone. I realized this shampoo/conditioner was the only new product in my regime. As soon as I stopped using these products, my skin started to clear up! Instead of throwing it out, I ended up giving it to my friend who has very thick hair and she likes it.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Vitamin B12 & Gelatin Anti-Breakage
rated 3 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 10/26/2009 12:19:00 PM

It's a little too heavy for my fine, thin hair. I noticed that by the end of the day, no matter how well I rinsed it out, I was looking rather flat and greasy. Not right for me, but probably good for someone with thicker hair. It was also inexpensive, which is a plus if it's suitable for you. However, BEWARE if you have sensitive skin.. This conditioner made me break out in painful cystic acne on my face, neck, chest, back and anywhere else that my hair came in contact with my skin! I know the conditioner is the culprit, because it was the only new product I've used in months. I had the same reaction to Pantene Beautiful Lengths as well! As soon as I stopped using this product, my skin started to clear up. I believe this reaction was caused by Dimethicone. I have used other Tresemme products with no problems.

Styling Products -Redken - Guts
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 10/20/2009 2:12:00 PM

I use Guts 10 every day. It's a great volumizing product, and has a very soft hold to it, not stiff like some other volumizing products I've used. I have thin, fine, flat hair that goes greasy very easily. Very surprised to see people saying this is greasy and sticky... I do not find this product to be greasy at all!! Maybe they are using this incorrectly. Here is how I use Guts 10: Shake the can first, I find this makes the product more foamy and easier to work with. Use it in towel dried hair. Lift up sections with a brush and spray right at the root (I mostly concentrate on the crown since that is where I like the most volume). Just a quick spray, you don't want to soak your hair with product. After spraying, I run a brush lightly through my hair to distribute the product more evenly. Then I use a round brush and blow dry my bangs and crown area first. Once these areas are dry, I flip my head upside down and dry the underneath layers. Then I flip my hair back, give a gentle brush and run a flat iron through my ends quickly. I don't even need to use hairspray to hold the volume or to keep my bangs in place!!! I have recieved one can that the nozzle stopped working. I simply exchanged it for a new one. Considering I'm on my third full-sized can and have used 2 travel sized, only having problems with one can isn't a big deal!! Also, the smell isn't bad at all, in my opinion. It only has a slight scent when you first spray it, and it disappears quickly. Guts 10 is definitely HG status for me!

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 2 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 4:23:00 PM

I recieved Bad Gal Lash as a gift. I used it simply because I felt too bad to throw it away and was unable to return/exchange it. I primarily used it as a base for other mascaras, since it really didn't add any noticable length or thickness to my lashes. I have fairly long lashes naturally, and if I curled my lashes before trying to apply with the huge brush, it would get onto my eyelids almost every time. I would not recommend this mascara unless you already have naturally thick and long lashes, and some extra cash to splurge on a mediocre (at best) product.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Parrot [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 12:12:00 PM

Glad I got Parrot when it was re-released. It's a nice bold color. I think it does come out a bit more blue than it appears.. I typically use it in my crease, with lighter greens as the base, in order to help bring out the green tint. I've never used it by itself on the whole lid, as to avoid looking too tacky or 80's.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic in Carbon Black
rated 4 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 11:49:00 AM

This product is good as far as lengthening is concerned. The brush really grabs the tiny lashes in the corners of your eyes, and is good for the bottom lashes. As far as volume goes, I find that I have to use a coat of a volumizing mascara afterwards. If you apply too many coats of Telescopic it can get a bit clumpy on the ends of lashes. If you use a q-tip to get rid of the clumps.. then your length is gone too! Kind of a love/hate with this product.. but I am very picky with mascaras! I'd probably buy it again simply because it was cheap and I like the way it makes my bottom lashes look.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Euphoria
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 11:20:00 AM

I absolutely love Euphoria. A bit heavy and musky yet feminine and sexy at the same time. It might seem strong when you first spray it, but it does soften up as it dries. Just a few sprays of this is all you need, it has incredible staying power. The bottle will last you forever. Definitely my HG fall/winter scent!

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 11:12:00 AM

I love Pink Sugar. It's very sweet and fun. I get tons of compliments on it. I've had people tell me it smells like cotton candy, sugar, pancakes, vanilla icing, french toast, etc. Since I have pink hair, I feel that it is very fitting for my personality!! I wouldn't recommend this for an older woman, as it does seem a bit juvenile to smell like cotton candy. It doesn't seem to be as strong after the first half hour or so of wear, but it is still noticable to other people.. so I am not sure if I'm just used to the scent or if it is actually fading. Other than that, it is a great fun and flirty perfume!

Mascara -Maybelline - Pulse Perfection™ by Define-A-Lash® Vibrating Mascara ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/8/2009 10:50:00 AM

I was surprised to read reviews saying this product was clumpy - I find it is the total opposite! I like this mascara because I feel that it really separated and lengthened my lashes. I find that moving the wand slower is the trick to getting really good seperation. As far as volume goes, I do have to apply 2 or 3 coats to get the desired thickness. When I'm done, I have a nice "fake lash" effect, which I love!! I've actually started skipping liquid liner and just wearing mascara because of how noticably long it makes my lashes. The vibration kind of tickles a bit. If you have sensitive eyes, it would probably make you tear up. The position of the button that you have to hold down in order to make it vibrate is in an awkward spot.. I found it was easier to use if I positioned the button so that I could press it with my thumb while applying. I think maybe instead of a button, they should put a tiny on/off switch. It would make it much easier to work with. It's a little pricey for a drugstore brand, and could use some improvement on the whole button thing, but will be buying it again!

Concealers -Amazing Cosmetics - Amazing Concealer
rated 2 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/7/2009 11:18:00 PM

This product is a bit expensive, in my opinion. A little bit does go a long way, so it will last you a while at least. It is pretty good at concealing under-eye circles and light blemishes. Don't recommend using too much of this product because I find it is a heavy and can get greasy looking. I would not recommend this product to someone with bad acne, or super dry skin. Definitely moisturize before using. Also, the tube is really annoying! I find it hard to easily squeeze out the right amount of product.. it's usually either too much or too little. I think it would be better if it came in a pot. **EDIT** I took one lippy off because I recently came to realize this product was making me break out! I had been using it to cover up a few red marks left from pimples, and ended up with pretty bad breakouts! As soon as I stopped trying to conceal my pimples with this product, they started to clear up. I'm still using this product to conceal under-eye circles, which it does do a good job on. Will not buy again simply because it is expensive and it doesn't agree with my skin.

Eyeliner -The Body Shop - Liquid Liner
rated 4 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/7/2009 11:06:00 PM

This is my daily liquid eyeliner. Very easy to apply, I love the felt tip. It dries as almost a powdery consistency. Beware if your eyes are watery or tear a lot, or if you rub your eyes, as this eyeliner comes off pretty easily.

Polishes -China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise 849237
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/7/2009 10:39:00 PM

Great color, get lots of compliments on it. 2 coats seems to do the trick as far as opacity. It dries quickly and looks matte, but looks awesome as soon as you apply a top coat. I didn't notice it chipping any faster than any other nail polish I've used..

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen Creme Cup
rated 5 of 5
LaurenMarieeee 9/7/2009 10:14:00 PM

I was torn between Creme Cup and Angel... and decided to go with Creme Cup! It's more matte than Angel. It's a very pretty color, kind of hard to describe. Almost like a nude version of a light "Barbie" pink. My sister and I both use it with Jordana "Rock n' Rose" Easyliner for Lips and top it off with Rimmel "Eastend Snob" Vinyl Lip gloss. We are both fair-skinned, and it doesn't give us that "washed out" look that some nudes can. Doesn't dry out my lips, lasts fairly long and smells good, too!
