Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Jojoba Oil

Wow. Jojoba oil is incredible. I wish had discovered it sooner! It rehydrates my skin, gives me a gorgeous glow and I feel like it's slowly fading my acne scars :). I've used a variety of brands so far, but I usually go for the organic, cold pressed kind. Such a great oil, so many uses. I use this mostly on my face and occasionally on my hair.

Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
rated 4 of 5

So I'm still trying to figure out if this foundation has SPF in it or not (in Canada) as the label says nothing, and I can't find the ingredient list! If anyone knows, could they please kindly let me know! As for the review, I think this products is pretty good. Best foundation I've tried yet. I used to use Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation but I found that it really caked on my skin and looked unnatural. After trying this one, I'm really impressed! I dont have oily skin or dry skin, so that might be one of the factors involved. I like that this foundation matches my skin perfect! I'm in the shade Vanilla 120. :) The packaging sucks - as many reviewers already mentioned. I want to try the pressed powder next, since everyone keeps raving about it!

Self Tanners -Yves Rocher - Autobronzant Lift Care Face
rated 3 of 5

Has anyone else had issues with this product breaking them out? I did a little research of the ingredients and apparently myristyl myristate is a chemical that commonly breaks people out. I really like the express spray version of this stuff - I find it gives a really natural tan so I keep repurchasing it, but it also has alcohol in it. So I gave this one a try and it broke me out! It also didn't give an even tan.. it was really obvious around my hairline. Hmmm. Maybe I will skip this one in the future!

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Dr Mist Body Hygiene Flotation Spray
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 4/10/2013 10:52:00 PM

I'm in disbelief about the reviewers below me! How did this product not work for you?? Maybe they were applying it wrong or have excessive armpit hair so the spray didn't cover the entire surface area. Anyhow, I think this is the best deodorant I've tried in my entire life! I've been on the hunt for a good natural deodorant and after countless trials of making my own with the coconut and arrowroot powder and using lemons under my pits, I finally found the secret! SALT! This stuff works SO well. Yes, you have to rub it in after you spray, but that's a small price to pay for how amazing the product is. For those of you complaining that you're still sweating with this product... yes that will happen. It's not an anti-perspirant people! Besides, after using this product for quite some time I noticed a decrease in sweat production since I was still using conventional anti-perspirant and my pits needed to release all those toxins. Give it a try. Bottom line: Salt+water = best deo ever. I will not however be repurchasing since I already made a batch with distilled water and sea salt and it works JUST AS WELL. This product is way over priced. I think it was $7 or $8 here in Canada for 50ml.. which is a ripoff once you take a look at the ingredients. So just make your own salt water people, it really does work just as well. :)

Powder -Avon - Smooth Mineral Make-up
rated 4 of 5

I have this product in the pressed version in light beige. I found that the colour suits me pretty well - maybe a tad too dark, but that will change come summer time! I find this product works best when you first apply a silicone primer. It looks flawless when you apply it at first, but if you want more coverage, I find that it cakes up when you start adding more. It's an okay product and I think I'll stick to using it as a mattifying powder over top of my BB cream as it works much better that way!

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis Passion Splash
rated 4 of 5
Laurelwood 3/19/2013 8:47:00 AM

First off, the scent of this shampoo is incredible! I bought it for the scent pretty much. I noticed that Garnier is trying to advertise this new line as kind of "natural"? I noticed that they don't have silicone or parabens, which is great but I was hoping that it would be sulfate-free as well! I found that this shampoo kind of dried out my hair a bit.. which is odd since it's the moisturizing formula. I've only used it twice so far, so maybe my hair needs to adjust to it? Anyways, it's not a big deal because I go heavy on the heavenly scented conditioner so it's all good! Overall, not a bad shampoo, I'll use it because the scent is incredible!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Exotic Coconut
rated 2 of 5

Wow, I'm so glad I found this review.. I thought there was something wrong with me since I experienced burning of the skin with this lotion too.. I'm not sure if it's from the high concentration of alcohol in the product as I usually felt the "burning" sensation when I used it directly after I showered. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one again..

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Luscious Embrace Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5

This lotion is really nice, it feels good on the skin, absorbs right away and it smells AMAZING. The scent also lasts a long time too! The only reason I took a lippie off is because of the parabens and price. 350ml for $7 in Canada. Heh..

Treatments -Ren - Resurfacing AHA Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 11/20/2012 10:38:00 AM

I've been searching for something that would get rid of the hyperpigmentation acne marks on my face and I got a few samples of this from Sephora. After using it every night for two weeks I've noticed tremendous improvement! My acne hyperpigmentation is pretty much gone. I don't know if the samples just work better than the product itself, but they definitely worked.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 6/11/2012 8:17:00 AM

I don't usually use foundation unless I'm really desperate to cover some new breakouts that appear or if I'm going to an event. I have some discolouration from blemishes and some redness on my face. I found that this BB cream was the exact match for my skintone and provided enough coverage for my redness but not for the blemishes. I found a simple solution - building up the BB cream on my face by dabbing it on to discoloured areas and gently patting it in. I did feel like my face looked much brighter and gave me that great glow. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup but I find this product perfect for those days that I'll be out in the sun. UPDATE: Since using this bb cream every day I've noticed how much better my skin looks (without the bb cream on!). My skin has become smoother and a bit more even toned.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 6/9/2012 9:55:00 PM

I absolutely love this soap! I love the cool sensation it gives when you use it in the shower and it is fantastic for pedicures! (Thanks to the viewer below for the suggestion!) I also use it to mix in with some sea salt to create a lovely peppermint foot scrub! There are so many great uses for this soap, I recently discovered it's great properties for use around the house - to clean the dishes and wash my fruits and vegetables. :) I'll definitely repurchase this one!

Lotions/ Creams -Yves Rocher - 2 in 1 Post-Waxing Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
Laurelwood 4/12/2012 6:03:00 PM

This is a great post-waxing treatment and moisturizer. I found that it didn't really get rid of redness, but it did however soothe and hydrate the areas that I waxed afterwards. I love the cooling sensation while applying this lotion and I feel that it does do a good job of minimizing hair regrowth long after you've waxed.

Deodorants -Dove - Go Fresh - Grapefruit & lemongrass scent
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 4/8/2012 2:31:00 PM

I love the grapefruit and lemongrass scent, it really does make you feel energized and fresh. I have the whole line, minus the antiperspirant since I've converted to using lemons and limes as deodorant (which works MUCH better than any deodorant on the market I've tried).. however, I will continue to repurchase the body spray, beauty bars and shampoo/conditioner since they smell so fabulous! :)

Fragrances -Dove - Go Fresh Body Mist -- Energizing Grapefruit & Lemongrass Scent
rated 5 of 5
Laurelwood 4/6/2012 1:07:00 PM

I hope Dove never discontinues this product! It smells absolutely divine! If you love citrusy, fresh and clean with a hint of sweet scents then this is perfect for you. During the summer I like to use the beauty bar, deodorant and spray as well as the shampoo and conditioner. It blends really nicely with my Roxy Love perfume, which is also pretty citrusy.
