Treatments -Frederic Fekkai - Protein RX Anti-Breakage Treatment Mask
LauraBraunstein 3/18/2009 11:53:00 PM
This is one of my favorite protein conditioners on the market. It leaves my hair feeling so strong and lustrous. Between Redken's Extreme Rescue Force and this, I'm torn as to which I like better. The price point of Redken is much lower, which is definitely a plus, but this one might be a step above. It positively repairs brittle hair.

Lotions/ Creams -Peter Thomas Roth - AHA 12% Body Lotion
LauraBraunstein 2/11/2009 11:56:00 PM
I've had relatively severe keratosis pilaris (little red bumps with pus and ingrown hairs in them) on the backs of my arms for pretty much my entire life. Many Rx only ointments have been prescribed to me by various physicians over the years to no avail. I finally found out about this lotion a couple of years ago from US magazine of all things. It has completely turned the condition of my arms around! I now swear by it to control my KP and highly highly recommend it to anyone with the same condition. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it has changed my life.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme
LauraBraunstein 2/11/2009 11:21:00 PM
As a stylist who works with Aveda products, I'm sensitive to the fact that some of my clients cannot afford Aveda's high price tags. As a result, especially when it comes to conditioners, I'm always on the lookout for comparable products at much lower prices. I decided to try this one after reading positive reviews. While I think that it's decent, it's not phenomenal. It seems to coat the cuticle well enough to weigh it down, which will help to keep the hair shaft from losing protein molecules and stay strong over time, but it doesn't seem to really moisturize it. After shampooing and conditioning with a lighter conditioner the following day, my hair felt exactly the same as it did before using this conditioner. It did not seem to have any increased moisture. After using Aveda's Dry Remedy or Redken's Butter Treat, there is a noticeable difference in the moisture level of my hair. If you can afford it, I would recommend either of those over this product.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Jet Set Eyeliner with Brush

Unlike the cream eyeliner, I found this one to be cakey and apply unevenly. I would not buy it again.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Quad - Picture Perfect

This product is s**t. I get practically no pigmentation out of it and have to literally keep caking it on to see results at all. I am not even a heavy makeup wearer! I like Smashbox's cream eyeliners, but it seems like their shadows stink.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle

I've been hooked on this one for years. It's both fun and sophisticated, light and intense, floral and musky. I can keep it faint or layer it on, either way, everyone seems to love it.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo-Expertise Nutrissime Reactivating Dry Skin Cream
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:45:00 AM
A friend of mine had the basic day version of this cream and I was surprisingly impressed by it after sampling one day. It wasn't quite rich enough for me (I'm a loyal La Mer enthusiast with dry skin) but I figured that a night time version might be. I still like my La Mer a little better, but it's a pretty close race. I don't find that this cream makes my skin greasy looking at all as long as I put a little powder foundation over it. It helps to provide fantastic coverage with my powder as well. For the price, I'd use this any day!

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Moisturizer
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:35:00 AM
I'm a La Mer addict, but I use this when I need to cheap out. I find it to be almost as rich and a great moisturizer for dry skin. It doesn't make me oily throughout the day and all.

Treatments (Eye) -La Mer - Eye Concentrate
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:29:00 AM
This is the best eye cream that I have ever used. It wipes out pretty extreme puffiness in about an hour. It's great as a lip balm as well.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:21:00 AM
For anyone with dry skin there is nothing better on the market. The price is sky high and sometimes I wonder if it's worth it (I think that Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer comes closeish), but I keep going back time and time again. It makes my face feel so amazing.

Cleansers -La Mer - Cleansing Gel
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:12:00 AM
Use La Mer a few times and you'll become an addict, so beware! The products are unbeatable but so are the prices. I love that this cleanser leaves my skin both thoroughly clean and moist while removing all makeup. Simply the best!

Makeup Brushes -Chanel - CONTOUR SHADOW BRUSH #12
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 1:03:00 AM
This brush is the best that I have ever used for blending. I find it to be a little too soft for heavy contouring, but it definitely is great for a lighter smoother look.

Eyeliner -Helena Rubinstein - Helena Rubinstein Spectacular Liner
LauraBraunstein 1/27/2009 12:44:00 AM
This is definitely my favorite liquid eyeliner period. The brush is really fine so it's easy to draw both an extremely thin and thicker line. It's also easy to smudge by using your finger when it's still wet. I have it in black, brown, and dark blue.
