Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Peaches
LatinFairness 10/13/2012 7:45:00 PM
I love this blush so much, I have been wearing it everyday. Upon reading reviews, I expected Peaches to be a light, true peach on my NC30-35 warm skintone. Instead, it's more like a medium, coral-peach that can be bold or sheer depending on how many layers you apply. It provides the perfect pop of color, as it always looks natural and complements my skintone more than any pink-colored blush I have ever worn. I will wear this summer, winter, any season- as it is one of those natural shades that looks great in any type of weather. It is very similar to Milani's Luminoso blush but without the glitter, better lasting power, and looks better worn on its own. I believe the two are different enough to own both.. This is the type of blush that will look good on ANY skintone with the right undertones. I have a natural redness in my cheeks, which I was afraid Peaches would not flatter, but it's quite the opposite! If you have a warm skintone with surface redness, I would buy this. If you have a cool skintone with surface redness, I would try before buying this (or try Melba). I find the texture very smooth and easy to blend. It also lasts a great while with a primer or a base. My most favorite way to wear Peaches is with MAC's Hush CCB underneath. It lasts forever and brings out the real beauty of Peaches. ~Sincerest thanks to all who recommended this.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Moisture Cream Sensitive SPF 15
LatinFairness 6/23/2012 12:24:00 AM
Love this! My bottle reads exactly, "Olay Complete all day moisturizer with sunscreen Broad Spectrum spf 15 sensitive". At $10 from Walmart it was a major bargain; I normally pay between $12-15 for a "good" moisturizer. To me a good moisturizer: blends in well, is non-greasy, not shiny, doesn't itch or irritate when you apply it, won't break you out, creamy, NOT thick, doesn't feel heavy or like it's "suffocating" your skin, and a major bonus if it contains spf. I've got mild, acne prone skin; clear and smooth for the most part, with oily AND dry areas. I've tried several of MUA's acclaimed moisturizers, all ds brands. Among them: Cerave (gave me strange, plastic-looking skin, didn't blend in, felt heavy, broke me out the worst), Nivea, the white/blue jar (very thick/greasy/shiny formula), Aveeno Positively Radiant (dull complexion and made me oily after a few hours), and Pond's nourishing moisturizing creme (my 2nd favorite behind Olay, just a tad bit too dewy/shiny). Olay is fabulous, though. The formula is quite thin, but not liquidy, blends completely in, leaves me moisturized in my dry places, dries to a soft, matte touch that leaves behind a healthy-looking "glow", and doesn't deteriorate on me or make me oilier throughout the day. I'm so glad I took a chance on this, I'll buy it over and over. This is as good as it gets for me!

Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
LatinFairness 2/24/2012 4:19:00 PM
This kind of turns orange on me if I apply too much. It's a shame because it's very finely milled and wonderfully sheer. I would rate the consistency of this bronzer 5/5. The color I would rate 3/5 because it's not the perfect bronzer for my skintone, nc30-35. I have very warm-olive undertones and this leans a little too orange for me. Not oompa-loompa, rather dirty/muddy if not applied very lightly, which is not easy to do since it's sheer and you'd need to layer it on in order for it to really give you color. I am still looking for that golden sunkissed color. This is too muddy but I do enjoy using it as long as I don't apply too much.

Blush -MAC - Dame
LatinFairness 10/23/2011 3:06:00 AM
Dame has been my favorite pink blush, since I've purchased it, over 4 years ago. On my NC35, peachy-olive skintone, it's a very doll-like (strawberry-pink) blush, but not too cool-toned for those of us with very warm skintones to pull off. Finding a good pink blush for my skintone is quite difficult, since most verge on being too bright/pigmented (MAC Fleur Power), or have the right opacity, but wrong undertones that clash with my coloring (NARS DeepThroat). The fact that I also have slight redness in my cheeks may be the cause of these blushes failing, however, Dame works with these issues and creates a very natural, beautiful pop of color. The pigmentation of this blush is quite sheer, so I always apply at least two layers to allow its true color to show up, but I like how conveniently buildable and blendable the texture is. It can last up to a few hours, more-so, when I'm wearing a foundation with primer underneath. Neutral eyes are my favorite look to wear, and I really, really love how this blush plays right along with them! It doesn't upstage any of my features, in fact, it's a very nice contrast with my dark brown hair and eyes. Makes me look happy, fresh, and awake. Would definitely repurchase this staple over and over.
