Bronzers -MAC - Bronzer in Golden
rated 4 of 5
Lanier 1/16/2009 1:45:00 AM

I am a PPP/LLL (MAC NC15 and NC20, depending on the foundation), and have trouble finding bronzers that don't look too muddy/fake on me. MAC's Golden bronzers was made especially for us pale gals! I'm having fun wearing it in the wintertime for a pick-me-up color. I apply this with my Trish #5 Powder Brush or my MAC 187 brush for a light, even application on my forehead, nose, and cheeks.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Jaipur Glossimer
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 1/16/2009 1:37:00 AM

Jaipur is an absolutely gorgeous lipgloss that can be worn year-round. It brightens up my face and adds a beautiful pink sheen to my pigmented lips. Like all of Chanel's glossimer, Jaipur is moisturizing and long-lasting. A definite staple for me -- I will always have a tube of Jaipur around! It also looks amazing paired with many of Chanel's pink lipsticks - my favorite combination is Chanel's Pink Sugar lipstick and Chanel's Jaipur glossimer. ( I wrote and posted this review under a different screen name, but wanted to re-add it under my current name :) )

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 1/16/2009 1:30:00 AM

My HG eyeliner. I have 5 of them! Even though they're expensive ($18), they will last me a LONG time, I gave it the ultimite test: I wore it when I went to the lake AND while showering. Surprise ...it was still on with no smudges! It comes off easily with makeup remover, though. If you're debating whether to buy this or not ..this is one item that you absolutely *need.* The chocolate shimmer gel eyeliner is my absolute favorite - it looks amazing on people with blue or green eyes!

Treatments -Jan Marini - Bioclear
rated 4 of 5
Lanier 1/16/2009 1:22:00 AM

After reading the amazing reviews for this product, I decided to take the plunge. I ordered the Lotion from Dermstore.com, and it arrived very promptly. The first few days of usage, I broke out in a scattering of whiteheads but after a week, they quickly cleared up. My skintone is more even and best of all, I have no breakouts! Right before I began using Bioclear, I had several stubborn clogged pores on my jawline that had been on my skin for a long time and a few breakouts on my chin. But the Bioclear Lotion cleared them right up! This product is very potent, so I recommended using the tiniest amount when you began using it. I did experience some dryness and flaking for the first week, but it eventually went away (with the help of MB's Healing Cream). If you plan to use this product during the day, please apply a liberal amount of sunscreen about 15 minutes after you apply the Lotion. Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 - Sensitive Skin
rated 2 of 5
Lanier 1/16/2009 1:19:00 AM

This product broke me out horribly. But I did give it a couple of lipsticks for the reasonable price and the high SPF. I think someone who can wear a high level of zinc oxide will really like this product. It does not leave a whitish cast, like many other zinc oxide sunscreens. I just wished it worked for me.

Shampoo -Ojon - Tawaka Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Lanier 12/30/2008 2:50:00 PM

I really enjoyed this shampoo the first couple of times I used it - it does not have SLS in it so it was very gentle on my scalp. I also loved the heady coffee scent. But after awhile, it seemed to coat my hair strands, making them feel greasy and limp. I do not use a conditioner with silicones and I clarify weekly with Aveda Detox shampoo, so this shampoo was the culprit, unfortunately. :(

Cleansers -L'Occitane - Shea & Organic Cotton Ultra Comforting Cleansing Milk
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 12/28/2008 1:25:00 AM

A great simple, no frills cleanser. :) I apply it on dry skin and rinse it away gently with several splashes of water. I mainly use this cleanser in the morning so I cannot comment on its makeup removing abilities. L'Occitane's Shea & Organic Cotton Comforting cleanser leaves my skin soft and fresh feeling, without drying it out. While people with very dry skin might find this milk cleanser too thin, it is perfect for those with sensitive skin that is normal to dry. The bottle travels well, which is an added bonus! *Update 01/20/09* - I've been using this cleanser for 3 months now, and I am almost done with my first bottle. While the milky consistency isn't *quite* moisturizing enough for me during the winter, it has not broken me out and is very gentle on my sensitive skin. I've just been adding a little extra moisturizer after using this cleanser and my skin has been smooth and flake-free (I use the L'Occitane Ultra Comforting Cream from the same line). I plan on purchasing another bottle of this cleanser soon and I upgraded the rating from a 4 to a 5. I am still on the search for a perfect winter cleanser, but this will be my HG cleanser when the weather is a little more humid. :)

Treatments -Kerastase - Ciment Thermique
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 7/10/2008 4:22:00 PM

My HG heat protectant! I love that it's cream-based, but not heavy at all. Every time I use this product, my hair looks sleek, shiny, and healthy. And I love the grapefruit smell. I will never be without my bottle of Ciment Thermique! I use this every other time I wash my hair -- it is not supposed to be used everytime you wash your hair because the effects last for at least a few shampoos and it can cause slight build-up if used too often.

Hair -Kerastase - Resistance Double Force hairspray
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 7/10/2008 4:15:00 PM

I love this hairspray! I spray it on my sideswept bangs to keep them in place and on my hair when I curl it. It holds the style of my hair all day without making my hair feel stiff or crunchy. Expensive, but worth it!

Lips -Dr. Hauschka - Lip Care Stick
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 11/19/2007 11:34:00 AM

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Sensitive Facial Skin Q10 Active Night Anti-Wrinkle Cream
rated 3 of 5
Lanier 11/13/2007 11:30:00 AM

I have been using this moisturizer for about 2 weeks now and I really like it. I have been using Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Face Cream but I needed something more moisturizing for the upcoming winter months. It sinks into my skin very nicely and keeps my skin hydrated without feeling greasy. The box says it is fragrance-free, but there is a distinct smell of butter (the shea butter, maybe?). The Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Cream is a great winter moisturizer! I use it at night and sometime in the morning underneath my sunscreen. I even use it as my eye cream with no problems. *Update: I stopped using this because I noticed it has caused a few small breakouts. I'm disappointed because I really like the formula. I will use up the rest of the tub as an eyecream, but will not repurchase. *Ingredients* Water, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Cocoate, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Coco Glycerides, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Biosaccharide Gum 1 (Vitamin E), Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Tridecyl Stearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Biotin, Zea Mays Oil (Corn), Beta Carotene, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Carbomer, Titanium Dioxide, Alumina, Silica, Sodium Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate

Skincare - Face -La Roche Posay - Effaclar A.I.
rated 4 of 5
Lanier 11/2/2007 10:25:00 AM

A great on the spot treatment for zapping pimples without drying out your skin or leaving a nasty redmark. BP does not work well for me, and I've found that this product is a delightful alternative. I don't have many breakouts, but I do get the occasional whitehead. I just put some of this lotion on the spot 2-3 times a day, and by the next day it is gone. Best of all, it dimishes the red mark that would normally still be there long after the pimple is gone. The Effaclar A.I. also works well in conjunction with the Effaclar K (a gentle salicylic acid product). The only thing that I do not like is that this particular LRP product is hard to find. I ended up ordered from Tubotica, but the wait was well worth it! Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Cyclohexasiloxane, Isononyl Isononanoate, Propylene Glycol, Isohexadecane, Niacinamide, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Kaolin, Carbomer, Salicylic Acid, Piroctone Olamine, Capryloyl Glycine, Acrylates Copolymer, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, PEG-4 Dilaurate, PEG-4 Laurate, PEG-4, Isobutane, Sodium Sulfate, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Parfum/Fragance.

Toners -Clinique - Mild Clarifying Lotion
rated 5 of 5
Lanier 10/22/2007 10:21:00 AM

So far I am really liking this toner from Clinique (it's called a lotion but the consistancy is more like a toner). Unlike the other Clinique toners, this one does not contain alcohol and it contains a small amount (0.5%) of salicylic acid. This is a great product for sensitive skin. I can use this twice a day with no irritation. My skin feels very soft and my skintone looks even and glowy. I suffer from mild rosacea, and this gentle toner seems to soothe my skin. Clinique’s web site says this about their Mild Clarifying Lotion: “Speeds cell turnover; keeping skin clear, smooth, with that Clinique glow. Now the driest and most delicate skins can reap the advantages of twice-a-day exfoliation.” And I agree! The Ingredients: Water purified, butylene glycol, biosaccharide gum-1, cyclodextrin, salicylic acid, millet plant glycoprotein extract, aloe, arginine, peg-10 soya sterol, ceteth-20, dimethicone, ceteth-20, kimethicone, ceteth-2, dimethicone copolyol, hexadecanol, methylparaben, d&c green no. 5, d&c yellow no.10 *update* A month later, and I am still loving this product as much as the first few times I've used it. :-)
