Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Vivids
LadyxBec 5/10/2013 12:17:00 AM
This is a review for shocking coral (910). I generally wear Coral Crush in the regular colour sensationals, but the store was out so I picked this one up instead. The GOOD: Like Coral Crush, I would say this is a pink toned coral, making it a lot more wearable. The colour is, as the name implies, very bright. It goes on faily smoothly, has a nice satin finish and lasts 3-4 hours (without eating) The BAD: if you lips are dry or cracked this will totally show that, packaging is nothing special. It's a bit OTT for everyday wear. If you want something that really "pops" I recomend this. Wear with flushed cheeks and natural eyes.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush
LadyxBec 5/10/2013 12:08:00 AM
I love this brush! The GOOD: Super cheap, does exactly what you'd expect. Lasts well, perfect firm/soft ratio. In summary is everything you'd want from an angled liner brush. I use this to do gel eyeliner, it's the best thing I've ever used for getting perfect cats eye flicks. The BAD: I don't really mind the length of the handle, but it could be a little shorter, for close up work. I got this on it's own for less than $10 (AU), based on reviews here and am very pleased.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (new formula 2012)
LadyxBec 5/10/2013 12:03:00 AM
If I has never tried the origional version of double wear, I would probably like this a lot better. The GOOD: Once I realised that 1C1 is a much better match for me than the new Ecru (previously 1N1, now 1N2) I found the colour match to be perfect - even better than my old colour. Coverage is nice, it's buildable, matte. Still "sets" like the old version The BAD: This does not control oil nearly as the old version - and it doesn't last as well either. I am very oily and the old version used to last 10 hours on me. This one is more like 6. In addition, my oil makes it very patchy, whereas with the old version when my oil came through I could just blot it lightly and my makeup would look perfect again. Packaging still sucks I would not buy this again - now I have experienced the wonder that is the old double wear I will continue looking for something closer - even with the lowered price I don't think this is worth it.

Shampoo -Ojon - Rub-Out Dry Cleansing Powder
LadyxBec 4/7/2013 3:45:00 AM
I don't know why this stuff has such bad reviews, it's awesome. The good: I find this leaves no gross residue or discolouration on my hair ( which has been dark blonde and is now pink). It gives me a solid 3 days before my hair gets oily again. You don't need much - I just section my hair, sprinkle into the roots and rub in, following with a quick brush. The bad: I do wish it was a spray, as I find them easier to use. The scent is strange, but fades quickly and isn't a huge drama. I don't like the packaging. Overall I would probably buy again - I have used maybe 6 dry shampoos, and this is the best for my super oily fine hair,

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten - Victorian
LadyxBec 1/9/2013 6:32:00 AM
This colour is not what I was expecting, but I love the formula of these. The GOOD:actually lasts all day, nice bold colour, I like the felt tip applicator The BAD: hate the packaging, the way the balm is stored is terrible, I do find the application of this a little patcher than the other colours I own. Although this colour is not what I was expecting its nice enough, I probably wouldn't rebuy though as I find it hard to make the colour work enough to make it worth rebuying. On me it is a rich purple-plum with tones of pink. The name is well-suited- wear with natural cheeks, perfect skin and long lashes and straight hair.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
LadyxBec 1/9/2013 6:22:00 AM
These are pretty good for what they are, but I am not attracted to this type of formula. The GOOD: decent range of shades, lasts pretty well, moisturising, The BAD: for some reason these do not look true to colour on me at all, as with all Revlon, too expensive in Australia. Overal I give them an ok. If you like sheer colours, then you'll love them, but I prefer something more solid and longer lasting

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational-Coral Crush
LadyxBec 12/5/2012 9:46:00 PM
My second favourite lipstick.c The GOOD: The colour is a bold bright pink with coral undertones - not as coral as you may expect or warm, it's a cool coral pinky on me. This is my go-to if I want bold lips, but don't want to wear red. It goes on smoothly, not matte, but not too glossy. It does not dry my lips out and lasts about 4 hours, which is to be expected from a non-longwearing lipstick. It also looks good as a stain. The BAD: The packaging looks a little cheap, and it has a slight chemical scent, which luckily fades quickly. Overall I would (and have) re-buy. Wear with tousled hair and flushed cheeks.

Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Super Lustrous in Fire and Ice
LadyxBec 12/5/2012 9:38:00 PM
It occurs to me that for such a lipstick addit I have been remiss in reviewing them. I am beginning to adress that with my can't-live-without Fire and Ice. The GOOD: This is the best red on me I have ever worn. On my NC15/ELDW Ecru PPP skin this is a wonderfully bold bright shade. Somehow it is both orange and pink toned at once. It lasts really well for something not-longwearing - I would say 4 hours. It's wonderfully creamy without being glossy. It also makes a lovely lip stain, and in a pinch an ok blush. Ideal for bringing out your inner 50s/60s siren. Wear with flicked eyeliner and flawless skin. The BAD: I actually don't have any. The packaging is ok, but not terrible, as with all Revlon porducts it's a little overpriced in Australia, but I think it's worth it. Would always buy again.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection - Eyes Starter Set
LadyxBec 11/25/2012 8:49:00 PM
I really like these, for the price they are excellent value. The GOOD: I have used these everyday for about 3 months, washed a few times and they are still in perfect condition. These look very expensive and nice, and are all super soft. The BAD: I don't think use any of these as intended - I find that, for example the pixle eyerline brush is difficult to use - but I find it really great for getting the tiniest bit of concealer on blemishes. I find the case a bit useless, but will probably use it when I travel. Overall if something happened to this set, I would probably get another. I think they're a good starting point for a brush collection for a great price.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
LadyxBec 11/25/2012 8:40:00 PM
In summary - when used correctly this is amazing, a little pricey but worth it. The GOOD: I have extremely oily skin and this actually keeps it from getting nearly as greasy. When I do get oil, it comes through the DW and can be easily blotted off, leaving my foundation perfectly in place and making powder unnecessary. It lasts as long as it claims - at the end of a 15 hour day all I have is a little fading, not patchyness or anything. It dries completely in about 5 minutes, leaving your skin feeling like there is nothing there. For daily wear, I use it on it's own - no primer or powder and get a solid 12-15 hours wear. It does not break me out when removed fully. The BAD: I hate the packaging, it is wasteful and useless. A pump would help, but a plastic tube like DW light would be best. If I do not remove it fully it does give me breakouts - I recomend a makeup remover containing oil followed by cleanser. Overall I would re-buy, this is by far the best foundation I have ever used (and I have tried a lot - 30+). I just really dislike the packaging! I would give it 4.5 for packaging and price, but there is no option so I rounded up :) EDIT: Please read my review on the new formula (listed under double wear 2012 new formula) - it is not nearly as good an no longer HG :(

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
LadyxBec 10/16/2012 9:16:00 PM
I did not like this at all. The GOOD: The colour match was good (I have the lightest shade), it did not break me out or look overly cakey The BAD: I didn't find that it kept my skin matte - it really wasn't that different to using other powders. There is pretty much no coverage. It is the worst packaging I have ever seen for a pressed powder - it does not stay closed at all and has no mirror. It is not very finely milled, so it was difficult to get product - a problem I have never encountered before. This may work for less oily complexions, but for me I would not rebuy.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Addict - 530 Bobo (was Spotlight Coral)
LadyxBec 10/15/2012 10:54:00 PM
I'm not gonna lie - this is really not worth the money, but if you want to own a lux lipstick that makes you feel like a princess when you pull it out, this is the one. The formula is similar to Revlon lip butters, although slightly less moisturising. The GOOD: the packaging is amazing. Very studry and usable, but also beautiful to look at, I love it. The colour (530 - Bobo) I purchased because that is my nickname and I like peachy lipsticks. On my NC15ish skin this learns to more of a warm pinky peach than coral, and has microglitters or shimmer throughout. I have worn it over other lip products and on it's own and it looks lovely and natural. Very classy and subtle but still there. A real MLBB. The BAD: It is expensive, and because it is so soft and glossy will not last as long as a more longwearing lip product. For me, I consider it worth it.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
LadyxBec 10/15/2012 10:46:00 PM
The lack of coverage was a real let-down. The GOOD: The colour match was excellent, the packaging is really cute (although not amazing quality) I like how it came with a brush and a sponge, although I didn't really use either. No breakouts or irritation. The BAD: No matter what I did, this really didn't have much coverage - I would say light at most. It didn't have much staying power either. The powder broke when there was maybe 1/4 left which made it kind of unuseuable. Because the coverage was not there I used a lot and it really didn't last long, especially considering the price. I would not rebuy, it was not what I was looking for. If you wanted light coverage or tough-ups this may be ok.

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
LadyxBec 10/15/2012 10:42:00 PM
I quite liked this, but it didn't keep away the greasies. The GOOD: I like the SPF, it was reasonable coverage and the colour, while not that great, blended out into something that looked ok. I liked the packaging. It didn't irritate or give me breakouts. The BAD: I got really oily and greasy using this - I'm not sure why. It's pretty expensive, and I'm only willing to spend that much on something amazing. It seperated a bit in the bottle so I had to mix it. I would not rebuy as I like the Nars TM much better.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
LadyxBec 10/15/2012 10:38:00 PM
My bottle lasted almost a year with 1-3 wears per week. It is very expensive, but gives amazing coverage. The GOOD: The coverage is amazing. My skin has gotten a lot better recently, but with this I have never needed concealer - just layering a little more on hides anything the first layer doesn't (and the first layer will hide all but the worst imperfections). It had none of the side effects that SPF foundations can have, did not oxidise and comes in a lot of shades. It has good lasting power (8 hours), doesn't need a primer (on my skin) or setting powder (I usually use one anyways), it also kept my skin from looking really greasy, and when it did wear, it kind of faded all over instead of looking patchy and gross. I have applied it with my fingers, several different brushes and mixed it with moisturiser and it always looks good and stays well. The BAD: Daily wear gives me breakouts - I can use this on weekends and special occassions without issue, but more than 3 days in a row will give me breakouts. I HATE the packaging, to me it is insane that you have to spend extra money for the pump. It is expensive - part of the reason ity lasted so long is that I can't wear it everyday. I would not buy again right now due to the breakouts and the fact that I want to dry EL double wear and MUFE matte velvet+.
