Mascara -MAC - Plush Lash
Labgirl81 3/13/2011 9:51:00 PM
I've been using this mascara in Brownette for about 4 years. I have naturally long lashes, but they are blond and thus invisible. Brownette is really a true brown, not a brown/black like most brown mascaras tend to be. It gives just the right amount of volume, but not too much length, which I don't really need (I don't like my lashes to touch my eyebrows). It hold the curl, and doesn't flake and is easy to remove.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream - Beta Hydroxy Complex
Labgirl81 10/16/2010 11:42:00 AM
I really like this product. I use it mainly to keep the flakies I get from using Tazorac away, and also to treat the blackheads and sebabceous filiments I have on my nose that the Tazorac doesn't get rid of. It does a great job. I use this once a day in the morning under my susncreen. It's not very moisturizing on it's own, but my sunscreens are so I don't mind. My skin looks more even, my pores appear smaller and I breakout less. the only drawbacks are the packaging (jar) and the smell. It's pretty fragranced and the smell tends to linger for a while. But those things won't keep me from using it.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - PhotoReady Powder
Labgirl81 8/6/2010 9:32:00 PM
I really ike this powder. I wear it in Light/Medium (I'm an NC25). I don't wear foundation, and just use a bit of concealer where needed, and this gives my skin a nice finish and a healthy glow. I don't use the brush it comes with, I use a big powder brush to apply it. The only drawback is the octinoxate it contains. I don't mind that it has sunscreen, however octinoxate is known to destabilize avobenzone in sunscreens, so I'm limited in my choices of sunscreens I can use under it.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
Labgirl81 3/11/2010 9:17:00 PM
This product is amazing. I use Tazorac for acne and this winter my skin has not been tolerating it well. I had been peeling constantly and my face was constantly red. I tried switching to some heavier moisturizers, and it helped a little, but I'd still peel every few days and I was starting to breakout. I actually got this on a whim, and didn't expect it to work because the original lotion and the cream didn't work, and this is actually lighter feeling than both. I started out by using it under my Tazorac and Cetaphil Cream at night and under my sunscreen in the morning...after a few days I realized I didn't need the Cetaphil Cream...my skin seemed much less dry and I noticed I hadn't peeled at all since I started using it. It seemed to have a cumulative effect. So I've been using it twice daily for about three weeks, and I'm amazed at how well my skin is behaving. My skin tone is even, all the redness is gone, no dryness, peeling, or flaking, reduced sensitivity, and I've noticed my pores look smaller...and I haven't broken out at all yet.

Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
Labgirl81 3/11/2010 9:08:00 PM
I don't know when I discovered this but I've been using it for at least three years, and repurchased probably a dozen times. I've tried others, but I always end up going back to this one. It's cheap, effectively removes sunscreen and makeup, even my mascara, but doesn't dry me out. I make sure to mix it with water in my hands and create a lather before cleansing with it. It does feel like it leaves a little film behind, but I don't mind it. The pump package doesn't travel well, and I've yet to see it in the tube.

Skincare - Face -Stridex - Triple Action Pads, Alcohol Free
Labgirl81 1/27/2010 11:03:00 AM
I had been hearing good things about this product and it's dirt cheap so I decided to try it out..I liked that the formula is alcohol free....but OUCH. Why use menthol? So the consumers can feel it working I guess. Well salcylic acid isn't supposed to tingle and burn. I'd rather use something with alcohol than this. .

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF15 (classic gentle formula)
Labgirl81 11/6/2009 4:48:00 PM
I have used this product for the past 15 years or so. This was my HG daytime moisturizer. I loved that it was light, not at all greasy, and didn't irritate my sensitive acne prone skin. I use a strong retinoid (Tazorac 0.10%) and a lotion containing 2%salicylic acid twice a day. I was able to use this product and not experience any irritation. I loved the finish and the slight soft focus effect caused by the zinc oxide. I never thought to look at the ingredients when I picked up a new bottle...although I noticed the package changed. What a surprise when I applied it for the first time yesterday morning. I noticed it felt more greasy and the emulsion didn't break the same way. It had a slightly almost gritty texture, and had a strong odor of chemical sunscreens. I made the mistake of putting it near my eyes, and they started to water and turn red. My skin started first to tingle, then to itch, then to burn. I washed it off before it could do any damage. Thinking I'd bought the wrong product, I looked at the ingredients... They changed the formula. What the heck was P&G thinking? All those chemical sunscreens in a product for sensitive skin...seriously. I was able to order the old formula online. I bought 3 6 oz. bottles...I should be good for at least a year. Then I have to find a new HG....grrr....
