Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One

I love this stuff. It provides adequate coverage for me. It's sort of dewy without being shiny. It last the whole day and doesn't look cakey. I'm 42 and realize that matte makeup is not your friend when you are in your 40's, slightly dewy is better and showing a bit of your natural skin. This is great for someone wanting a natural look that has decent skin. I'm about an NC 20 and the light to medium was OK for me. If you are really light it might not work for you. I like this stuff so much that I bought the darker one to try on my legs instead of the Sally Hansen leg spray. I'm hoping it may even the tone out without that messy spray can!

Liquid -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup
LRKG1234 9/13/2011 10:04:00 AM
I've been on another perfect foundation hunt and this is the best that I have found. I recently tried Lancome photogenic and teint ideal?? or something like that. I also tried Elizabeth Arden Plump Perfect 42$ creme and Maybelline Fit liquid. This is better than them all. I have no idea why anyone thinks it's minimum coverage or runny. I thought the consistency was great. Enough coverage that you may not need concealer without looking like a cakey mess. I found the coverage to be a perfect level. It's a bit matte for my taste, but the maybelline fit that I just tried was a bit too dewey. If I add a blush or illuminizer or other product with a bit of sheen this will be perfect. It was 5.99 at Target! I also love that it comes in a small plastic tube, totally portable. A glass jar/pump is pretty on the vanity table, but not easy to throw in your bag. Love this stuff. Try it!

Bronzers -Maybelline - ExpertWear Blush Bronzer "Salsa Sun"
LRKG1234 5/2/2010 10:20:00 AM
I think this is only good for fair skin, maybe not even so great on medium skin. I have tried clinique and estee lauder bronzers and still end up going back to this clearance bronzer every time. It's definately more gold than orange, which is great to me. It's very subtle. I would rather layer than have a highly pigmented bronzer. I'd rather add to instead of wipe off. It looks natural for a bit of color. Not dark enough for contouring, but perfect for fair skin in winter. I'm 40 and really don't like glitter on my face at all. I don't understand the reviews saying it's glittery. It also didn't crumble or get messy when using a brush. I like the stuff. If you are a very light skinned person and find it somewhere try it.

Blush -NYX - Pinky
LRKG1234 4/13/2010 4:34:00 PM
I just purchased 4 different nyx blushes on ebay. This was the first one that I tried and I was the most excited about because of the great reviews. I think it could be gorgeous on someone with a tan or at least a medium tone skin. I tried it 3 times, I was as light handed as possible and finally tried a super tiny dab with my pinky finger. It's so pigmented! I look like a clown or like I'm sick or someone smacked me in the face. My husband even said, let me look at your face, He thought something was wrong with me. Nice smooth texture, no sparkle. Decent package, cheap. Just not for me. I'll be on the hunt for another pretty pink that is not as intense.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Doubling Mascara
LRKG1234 2/24/2010 5:16:00 PM
I just got this as a freebie from someone and really like it. I have tried all kinds of mascara, drugstore and department store and never really been wild about any regardless of cost. Problems with previous attempts have been smearing easily, clumping, or taking way too much time to really SEE any difference and then looking gloppy. This is a nice formula, no fancy brush or hype, but it doesn't have the problems that other mascaras have given me. It goes on in a few swipes, doesn't run or smear easily. Looks long and natural. Lasts fairly long as well. Not a bad price. For a while, I will be into this brand.

Blush -Stila - Poppy Convertible Color
LRKG1234 1/12/2010 8:03:00 AM
I really like this stuff. It's a nice texture, not too much sparkle or shine. Soft pretty color, better on cheeks than lips. I have the small sample size, which is so much product! I'd way rather have the sample size than the full size. It will last forever. I only wish it had a tiny mirror in the compact. I'm not sure if the full size does. I only wish it had a bit more staying power, but I don't set it with powder, because I prefer a more dewy finish. It's not too bad to reapply, just a quick swipe.

Concealers -Lancome - Effacernes
LRKG1234 1/12/2010 7:58:00 AM
Waterproof, clair II. I'm not exactly sure how truly "waterproof" this is. But, it blends great, does not crease and the color clair II is a great match for my fair to light skin, NC 20. I purchase it in the tube, which is not my favorite packaging really, but it's such a great product that I put up with the packaging. The footed type of concealer that lancome makes, even in this same shade is not the same. It's definately worth a try. My fave.

Palettes -LORAC - Greatest Hits CD - 1
LRKG1234 1/12/2010 7:55:00 AM
Purchased at sephora, had always wanted to try this palette. It was all very nice but a tad too dark for my fair skin, even with a very light hand. I suggest it for someone with a medium to dark complexion. I actually have it up for swap right now. The colors are all pretty neutral and there is even a black that can be used for eyeliner. I had purchased it for travel, It would have been very convenient with a nice selection of neutrals, the blush in particular was just a bit dark for me.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer
LRKG1234 1/12/2010 7:52:00 AM
I have heard so much hype about these glosses that I finally broke down and bought one. It was about 29$ at Macy's and I tried a few on before selecting sarong, a pretty, shimmery nude. The textures is great. Perfect really, not too watery or too gloppy. Your lips just feel nice. The sparkle effect is very subtle and pretty, not disco. Shortly after I purchased giggle and spark. Giggle is a pretty pink neutral and spark is actually quite bright in the tube, but nice on. I would suggest trying the colors out at a counter. You might be surprised how much you like the brighter colors when you put them on. They are way mellower than they look in the tube. Those with a hint of plum or purple were especially pretty. These glosses really are the best. Too bad they are so darn expensive!

Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless
LRKG1234 3/4/2009 7:20:00 PM
I purchased creamy natural, 220 because of a reviewer by someone else that was a nc 20 in MAC. This was a great match. Everyone says to go with the darker shade if in doubt. I hate the "makeup" feel that so many foundations have. This covers just enough. and I forget I have anything on. I liked this much more than the MAC stick or Bobbi Brown Stick. I actually love the packaging. It's not messy, I can just throw it in my purse and put it on quickly in the rear view mirror of my car when I need a little "help" here and there. It doesn't take a genius, you just twist. One twist side is the sponge applicator (skip it). The other side is the product. I was not looking for heavy coverage, just something for spots where zits used to be, dark areas, around the nose and heavily freckled areas across the cheeks. It covers, but still looks smooth and natural if you use it sparingly. If you cake it on it WILL look like crap. A light hand~ a few finger tips is best. Here are a few tips: 1) moisturize first for best results 2) apply with finger NOT sponge very SPARINGLY. Heavy is too opaque and looks bad, let your skin show. Sort of swirling the 2 shades together and being very light handed worked best for me. 3) If you look a little matte apply a very fine layer of moisturizer over the top. It's decent coverage, often I don't need any concealer. Application is key and finding the right color. I was best with 220 or 225. Buy it girls! I don't want this one discontinued!

Liquid -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Cover Smooth Foundation in Bare (852)
LRKG1234 11/17/2008 4:48:00 PM
Not bad. I just purchased it because I got it for 1.50 (50% off with another item at cvs). The color is fine, it's matte, fairly decent coverage. A little bit of a scent, which is ok, not gross or lovely. I just hate these glass bottles, especially without a pump. It's just not a practical design in my opinion. I don't care about a beautiful package, gold trim etc. I just want something that won't bust in my bag. Worth a shot for $1.50. I feel like all of these products are very much trial and error and marketing. I buy a mix of cheap and higher quality. Who can resist a little cvs treat when you pick up a prescription?

Tinted Moisturizer -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer - Natural
LRKG1234 11/17/2008 4:43:00 PM
I actually like this stuff pretty well. I've tried CG smoothers and liked that product, but there was 0 coverage. I tried Laura Mercier and it was ok, but I had the wrong color and it was too orange. This is crazy cheap, I like the plastic container, easy to throw in a bag or in your glove box. I disagree about the thickness and shine factor that some people talked about. I thought it was fairly matte. I like a bit of life/glow without being shiny or greasy and I thought this fit the bill. Not a real treasure, but cheap enough to have around when you need a little something.

Concealers -Unlisted Brand - CoverBlend by Exuviance
LRKG1234 9/30/2008 1:00:00 PM
This is a heavy duty concealer with spf 15. You definately need to moisturize if you have dry skin. But, the coverage is great, long lasting and blends well. I have fair skin and use the beige (sounds generic, but blends well) for zits and blemishes in the chin area when I have a break out. Late 30's, but still breaking out! I use the light for under the eyes. This tube is pretty big and will last you forever! I don't use it every day, but it's perfect for very tired or very zitty days. When you need full coverage, this is the best that I have found. It's about 20$, but lasts forever.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Glo Illuminating Powder - Strike-A-Pose-Rose #346
LRKG1234 5/4/2008 8:30:00 PM
I just bought this for a touch of color and was very impressed. I also tried strike a pose rose. I had spend $40.00 on the bobby brown shimmer brick and it's a bit shiny. You have to be very light with it. I have also tried various brozers and they were too orange. This is pinky bronze and was great for a fair complexion. Super cheap too! I'm going to get one for the car too.
