Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
Krystall 11/8/2011 11:23:00 PM
I had seen a favourable review of these on Youtube and decided to grab a couple and check them out. I purchased Energising Orange and Anti-oxidant Berry. The packaging is super cute! I love the bright colours. Otherwise it's packaged just like any old lip balm with the pull off cap and twisty bottom. Both of the balms were completely colourless. I was kind of disappointed because I had heard that they were tinted. I guess the product is different in Australia? Despite that the scents are totally delicious. The orange smell is crazy yummy, reminded me of my Orange Fanta Lip Smacker. The berry one is incredibly subtle compared to the orange but it's still pretty nice. The staying power on these isn't great. I am a lip licker so I am sure the product could last longer on someone else but for me I was reapplying every 30 - 45 minutes. They moisturise beautifully. My lips have been pretty cracked and dry lately, need to remember to drink more water, and this balm made them feel amazingly soft after just few hours. It feels super great on the lips, not waxy or thick. It kind of feels like butter to me. Just light and incredibly smooth. The price on these was crazy good! Just $4 each from Priceline. I was stoked. All in all I would repurchase and recommend these.

Mascara -Clinique - High Lengths Mascara
Krystall 10/12/2011 1:40:00 AM
Holy moly, this is my HG mascara. I can't say enough good things about it. My lashes are already quite thick and long but this mascara just makes them look amazing. I've had mine for a while and I don't feel like I will be running out any time soon. I'm a bit of a clutz and because of the curve of the wand I often find myself getting mascara all over my face while trying to apply to my very outer lashes. This may just be my fault, though. You definitely do not want to let this mascara dry between coats, you'll end up with a clumpy mess but if you apply while it's still wet you can get some mazing results. I do find that I get mascara marks just below my eyebrows, but I get this with most mascaras and that fact that they're up so high just attests to how fantastically lengthening this mascara is. I don't really know what else to say about it. It's just fantastic all over. I couldn't ever go without it.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
Krystall 10/12/2011 1:29:00 AM
The last time I used this product was over 4 years ago. I stopped using it because I started to notice that the towel I was using to wash my face after the cleanser was being bleached by the product. It was pretty horrifying to know that I was rubbing a product capable of taking my dark purple towel and turning it a bright baby pink into my face twice a day. It definitely did clear up my acne for the time I was using it and my scarring was actually fading quite quickly but I just couldn't handle the thought of the bleaching. Whether or not it would've actually had negative effects had I kept using it or not I have no idea. I've heard that the formula has actually been changed since I last used it but I really couldn't comment much on that. The only product I actually kept from the set and would recommend is the refining mask. Smells awful but it works pretty nicely.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational in Pearly Pink #720
Krystall 10/12/2011 1:10:00 AM
This was my first real lipstick. It's a very beautiful colour, sparkly and light pink. I love wearing it over a darker matte lipstick to lighten it up ad give it some sparkle. I really don't like the formula though. It feels incredibly grainy (which I am assuming is the glitter) and dries out my lips like crazy without actually being long wearing. I wish it was creamier, it really is so beautiful. The packaging is pretty lovely too, definitely my favourite part of the lipstick. I hate how it's taped shut. I am pretty sure most lipsticks are and it's really annoying. After peeling off the tape you're left with sticky residue that collects dirt and ends up just making the lipstick look crappy as. Just a general packing gripe, I suppose. Won't be purchasing again, I am sure you can get a nicer feeling lipstick in the same colour.

Eyeliner -Inglot - Eyeliner Gel
Krystall 10/11/2011 12:34:00 AM
I was really impressed with this eye liner right after I applied it, the black is super dark, goes on really smoothly and sets to a really quickly. I find that even with a primer it does crease slightly, you don't get a total transfer but there will be a gray line above your lid. The product doesn't flake off after a few hours like another gel liner I've tried. How ever.. I'm not sure if this is a claim by the company, as I couldn't see it anywhere on the packaging but the sales assistant assured me it was truly water proof. I've also seen a popular youtube guru insist this is the case. I have incredibly watery eyes at the outer corners and having a really water proof eyeliner is always my number one concern. Within an hour or two it has completely melted at the outer corner. It looks just awful! I can't even tell you. It bleeds like crazy. I also find that by the end of the day all the liner is clumped into the inner corner of my eyes! My make up looks like a damn mess. With a primer I find it holds a LITTLE better but still not enough for me to justify buying this product again, which sucks because I also purchased the indigo colour which I find applies no way near as bright as it looks in the packaging. It looks beautiful right after applying, nice selection of colours, reasonable pricing, but I won't be purchasing again.

Cleansers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Antibacterial Soap
Krystall 10/11/2011 12:18:00 AM
I use this cleanser twice a day, night and morning. It does not remove my make up entirely, but cleansers are not really supposed too. At least not this one to my knowledge. The soap I have doesn't look like the one pictured, the one I purchase is all white and quite small (about half the size of my palm). It is quite frustrating having to lather up the soap every time I go to use it but for keeping my acne away I can deal with it. I gave the packaging such a low score because I have no idea how to store it. I hate the idea of it just sitting out all wet and ick, but how are you supposed to dry off soap? It just comes shrink wrapped, I know the larger one comes with a case which I keep in the shower but I still hate the thought of putting something on my face that's been sitting in water. Bleh! Despite this I really, really love it. It doesn't feel harsh but it still is quite thoroughly cleansing. I don't find it dries out my skin at all but I am oily verging on very oily. This in conjunction with the other two steps has cleared up my acne and kept it away completely so a little extra effort and some storing issues really aren't a big deal.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer
Krystall 10/10/2011 11:57:00 PM
This is my everyday moisturiser. My face feels amazingly soft after applying but I constantly need to powder my face during the day as it does nothing to control my oily skin. It really doesn't do a whole lot to add moisture to the dryer parts of my face either so I find myself applying a heavier moisturiser at night, as I need it. I find it doesn't really have a scent and it absorbs into the skin quite quickly. For me at least, a little goes a long way and one tube lasts me quite a while. It's definitely pricey and I wish it did a little more for oil control (or at least moisturise a little more thoroughly) but I hardly ever break out any more and I suppose that's all I can really ask for from this product.
