This was just like any regular 'ol handcream. It didn't perform any miracles, and actually didn't even moisturize all that well. There are much better handcreams on the market, so I will probably just use up the tube I have, but won't repurchase.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - 266 Thin Small Angle (Synthetic hair)
KristenL 3/26/2003 5:23:00 PM
This is the perfect brush for lining my upper lids. It allows me to effortlessly make a perfect line everytime. My only complaint is that it's a little hard to line my lower lids with it, but for upper lids it's wonderful!
Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Multi-Colored Bronzer
KristenL 3/26/2003 5:21:00 PM
This is my holy grail bronzer. My face is a little lighter than the rest of my body, so I use this daily to darken my face. It gives just the right amount of color to my fair skin without making me look orange. Also, even with daily use, the compact has lasted well over a year!
Foundations -L'Oreal - Quickstick Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
KristenL 3/15/2003 3:31:00 AM
In my search to replace my HG Px Unmakeup, I decided to try this. I have very high expectations from foundation after using Unmakeup for so long, and I have to admit, Quick Stick definitely meets my standards. It gives just the right amount of coverage when applied with your fingers, it blends nicely, and lasts all day. It also seems to help mattify my face. My *only* complaint is that it accentuates flakes a little bit, but it's not unbearable.
I have this in the medium shade, and I really like it. It adds a nice lightly bronzed look to my face without looking muddy or fake. However, for the money, I probably won't repurchase and will just stick to my MAC Harmony blush.
This mascara did absolutely nothing for my lashes, except weigh them down. Oh, and it did separate them...but so much so that they had absolutely no volume. I have NO clue why this is the "make up artists' staple" in their bags...mine went straight to the trash bag!
This is such a beautiful lipstick! I don't normally wear too many "plummy" lipsticks, but this one is definitely a winner. I also love the shimmer/frost, it gives the color a lot of depth.
I agree with everyone else...this is a very "mermaid-like" type of color...and it's soooo pretty. I love using it wet to line over black liner. It's definitely not an everyday color, but it's great for a fun night out!
These are by far my favorite of the Stila knockoffs. They have a great color selection, are *very* long-lasting, and also really shiny. If you don't like sticky/tacky glosses though, definitely steer clear of these!
This is by far the best mattifier I've found so far. It really helps keep oil at bay, but does so without completely drying out my skin. It's a little hard to get your hands on at the drugstore (they usually have to call and order it for you, IF they even know what it is), but it's readily available on Dermadoctor.com
I'm always on the search for long-lasting lipglosses, and these are definitely right up there with my favorites. They last forever, but aren't *overly* sticky. I also love that the shimmery ones don't feel gritty like most shimmery/glittery lipglosses do.
Polishes -Revlon - ColorStay Always On Nail Enamel [DISCONTINUED]
KristenL 2/1/2003 4:45:00 AM
I have an *impossible* time getting nail polish to stay on my nails. When I paint them, it literally starts chipping off within hours...so I was excited to try this since it claims to last so long. It did last about 24 hours, which for me is pretty good, but it definitely didn't live up to what it claims. My search for a long-lasting nail polish continues...
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Defining Duo Eye Shadow & Liner
KristenL 1/28/2003 9:34:00 PM
I purchased this in Black/Taupe, and while the colors look great together, the quality is pretty poor. Even with a base, the eyeshadow creased within a couple hours. The eyeliner went on very smooth, but it only lasted a few hours more than the eyeshadow did. I wanted to love this because the colors really are pretty, but overall, I'm just not impressed.
Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
KristenL 1/11/2003 11:11:00 PM
This is an excellent spot treatment when used in conjunction with the 1% BHA. I love that it comes in lotion form now...I can actually wear it under my make up without looking greasy or having it slide right off my face (like the solution does). This can be a little drying if used more than once a day (or once every other day for sensitive skin), but overall, it's a great product!
Moisturizers -Murad - Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15
KristenL 1/11/2003 11:04:00 PM
This has quickly replaced Px Insulation as my new holy grail moisturizer. It soaks right in and doesn't leave me greasy, it moisturizes really well, and contains SPF 15.
