Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF20

I just can't resist a new Armani foundation! I was a big fan of GA Matte Silk foundation and was so disappointed when it was discontinued. This new Lasting Silk foundation makes up for that and more! It's the most natural light-to-medium coverage foundation I have ever used. And it really lives up to its name: It lasts all day! And looks good doing it. It's one of those foundations that diffuses light -- or lines and pores in my case. Unlike other foundations, I just don't see it settling into the pores on my nose. Armed with my Armani Foundation brush, I get a natural flawless finish that feels weightless. And the SPF of 20 appeases some of my guilt for my non-religious use of sunscreens! I've worn it every day since I got it and am already thinking "backup." I bought #5, which is what I always wear. I found it slightly lighter than my LSF #5, but still a good match for my NW20-NW25 skin. Lasting Silk is a water-based, slightly luminous matte foundation, which I think will be especially perfect for the spring/summer months. I have pretty normal skin--not too dry not too oily--but I don't think I'd recommend this for those with extremely dry skin.

Used twice; sent back. It doesn't hold the curl in your lashes. I'll be going back to Shu Precise Volume.

Palettes -Chanel - Collection Essentielle Multi-Use Makeup Palette- Collection Essentielle Multi-Use Palette- Tropicale

This is my first Chanel palette. Over the years (and there have been many of them!), I've managed to keep any Chanel lemmings in check. That is until I saw they'd made a coral palette. Yes, CORAL!!! I left work early, raced to the Chanel counter and bought it without sampling even one shade. First off, the colors: Left: Pech Bronze, Brun Bronze e/s Right: Vert Bronze, Rose Pech e/s Middle: Pink Coral blush Bottom: Soft Coral l/g, Pink Guava l/s, Peach Shimmer l/s, Deep Coral l/g Now I've heard some rumblings about lack of pigment in some Chanel palettes, and well yes, this one does have a bit of a problem. The shades on the left are beautifully pigmented while the shades on the right aren't quite as pigmented. Too bad because the Vert Bronze (kind of a shimmery greenish taupe) is one of my favorite colors in the palette. I have to apply a few more coats of that one. I've tried numerous eye shadow combinations and love how these shades all work together. Definitely more of a day look though than nighttime look, but that's perfect for me. Very springy too! The Pink Coral blush is just that, a beautiful pinkish coral shade that makes you looks like you're lit from within. I'd buy this in a second if it was available individually. As for the lip products, I can't find a loser in the bunch. Love them all, especially the Pink Guava l/s (more vivid in the pan, but very natural on--kind of a pinkish coral YLBB shade). Looks great with the Deep Coral l/g, which I found to be more apricot. The combo was gorgeous though! For lighter fare, try the Peach Shimmer l/s with the Soft Coral l/g. I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this palette. And I just have to add that it's just so pleasant to look at! Check out the pics in my profile. Of course now I'm left with a Chanel addiction to deal with!
