Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
Kminer 9/18/2010 7:15:00 PM
This is the best, most inexpensive weekly clarifying shampoo for me. You cannot beat Suave's prices, and though some products might have reports of drying out hair, this one, used once a week, takes all the gunk out of my hair and gets my hair ready for a new week. I often follow with a Deep Conditioner (not Suave). I think this product is perfect!

Shampoo -Giovanni - Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo
Kminer 1/23/2010 3:33:00 PM
I might buy this again. I really like this shampoo for my scalp - the tea tree and overall sort of mint smell and tingly feel is really refreshing. The problem is this shampoo is fairly drying on the rest of my hair! It works great on my 9 year old son's short hair though - really gets the oils and "boy gunk" out! I do like to pair this with, say, a leave in conditioner, because using regular or light conditioners has left my ends dry.

Treatments -Frederic Fekkai - Technician Color Care Mask
Kminer 1/21/2010 9:32:00 PM
Okay, the packaging isn't necessary, and the price more than I'd like. I sampled this first, and figured it wouldn't be anything much. I mean this product would have to be amazing for me to spend $35. .... Well, it's amazing. The shine, the smoothness, it's unreal. And for days after I use this product - it's a definate must have in my book!

Styling Products -Nexxus - Heat Protexx
Kminer 3/14/2009 9:52:00 AM
This is my favorite heat spray. Heat Protexx doesn't have alcohol and isn't drying or overly greasy like many, many sprays I found. It comes in a white spray bottle and the spray really works well and like a light mist. I spray it on dry hair before I use the flat iron. It has a pleasant smell and doesn't build up or flatten my hair.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
Kminer 2/14/2009 8:15:00 PM
This yellow bottle replaced my beloved, holy grail Benefit Bad Girl mascara. I love everything about this product, other than smell. I love the fat, wide wand and the dark black color that really coats my lashes. It really stays put and I'm able to wash it off well. It doesn't irritate or burn my eyes, the way other Maybelline (cough, cough, Grate Lash!) mascaras have done. It really performs beautifully, and I was surprised to finally find a drugstore mascara I recommend! The only thing I hate it the god awful smell of roses - like an old lady perfume. You only smell it when first applying and pulling the wand out, but why Maybelline decided to do this, I have no idea.

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time
Kminer 2/14/2009 8:09:00 PM
Prime Time has been a repeat purchase for me. I've used primers from Smashbox and Lorac as well. I will say, Smashbox still makes my favorite, but I don't love it's price or ingredients. I feel much more comfortable spending less and getting better product from BE! I found that Prime Time worked best with powder type foundations. I typically only use MAC Studiofox now, which is a pressed powder type. I need something on the surface of my skin before the powder or it sets in my pores. Prime Time is amazing. It feels silky smooth and is a breeze to use. Mine cost $21 and I can usually find it at Ulta. It comes in a small, white pump bottle and is easy to use to the very least drop! It doesn't break me out of irritate my skin, and it absorbs very quickly. It's gel-like and not greasy in the least.

Lotions/ Creams -Skindecent - Soft As Silk Hand and Body Lotion in Marshmellow Fluff
Kminer 4/5/2008 9:55:00 PM
Skindecent's Soft as Silk Lotion is a nice, lightweight lotion. It doesn't work so well for me in colder months, but as a lighter lotion (say after shower scrubs or bath soaks) it works well. I also like this lotion for my children who don't need as heavy a product. The Marshmellow Fluff scent is great! It really smells like the inside of a Rice Krispie treat ... or that Fluff spread you can put on sandwiches. It's a pretty strong scent for such a light scent idea and it layers well. I can see myself wearing this with lots of foody scented perfumes because it's a great base scent.

Primer/ Corrector -LORAC - Aquaprime
Kminer 4/5/2008 9:26:00 PM
I liked the idea this was silicone free, but it really did nothing for my skin. I hated applying it, waiting for it to dry on my face, putting foundation over it. I felt like it did little and was way too runny to be effective. This product didn't work for me at all. It's my least favorite primer of the ones I have tried.

Candles -Laughing Out Loud - Fresh Brewed Coffee
Kminer 3/25/2006 9:23:00 AM
Agreed, this isn't a bad scent, and does smell really strong and like coffee. But I really prefer blended coffee (sweeter) scents and this had those bitter plain coffee notes in it. I found myself buying the Fresh Brewed Coffee tarts in the heart size so I could toss in OTHER scents with it and make my own blends :) So I'd only buy again if I felt like blending.

Candles -Laughing Out Loud - Bakers Vanilla Pudding
Kminer 3/25/2006 9:12:00 AM
This is a true vanilla pudding smell, and it smells realyl really great when I smelled it cold. I burned it for a full day though and tried again the next, and I never really could SMELL it when I entered the room. I noticed when I finally dumped the wax into the trash can (which is in an enclosed closet) I could really smell it then too, so I'd imagine this scent might work in smaller/more confined places. It was a great scent but not one I'd personally buy again since it wasn't really strong enough for the room I burn most of my tarts in.

Candles -Laughing Out Loud - Candy Hearts
Kminer 3/25/2006 9:10:00 AM
This is to smell like the candies - and to a degree it did. Overall it wasn't a bad scent, just not a "me" scent and one I wouldn't buy again. I got a floral note from it that I just didn't like, as I like more "sweet" candy scents.

Lotions/ Creams -Ulta - Hot Cocoa Hand-Body Cream
Kminer 1/4/2006 9:08:00 PM
Agreed, this is a great, not too heavy, but noticeable to me scent. It's very warm and rich and sweet also - like it has marshmellows. It's a great hand lotion I use a lot at night, and the scent lingers without overpowering you. I got this as a holiday gift as well.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Fresh Vanilla Creamy Body Wash
Kminer 12/27/2005 8:54:00 PM
I really like this as an overall scent, so perfect for me in a body wash. I love the creamy formula (prefer it over the shower gel) and this is a nice, light but noticeable vanilla scent that would layer well with most of the lotions I wear, so very versatile. I love scented body washes that can mix well with lots of scents, so this was pretty ideal for me. It reminds me some of Rice Flour & Shea, which I also loved.

Candles -Yankee Candles - Christmas Wish
Kminer 12/27/2005 8:46:00 PM
The price of YC tarts have gone up so I really have to love a scent to recommend buying them over etailer tarts. This scent smelled horrible to me, like pine trees mixed with stale sugar cookies ... I dumped it because it was that bad of a burn!

Candles -Laughing Out Loud - Tangy Mulberry
Kminer 12/18/2005 1:38:00 PM
I really like this scent, only around the Christmas/Winter holidays though. It's quite strong and I really enjoy mulberry scents to begin with - it's a winter staple in our house. The tangy gives it an extra kick I really enjoy. It's a pretty strong and noticeable scent.
