Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Pleasures

I discovered this scent quite by accident in a magazine sample- surprise. I always knew it existed, but I was too distracted by edgier fragrances and more aggressive ad campaigns to try it all these years. I was very pleased with the subtle, smooth scent. Very clean. It actually smells like Dove soap on me. I specifically requested this fragrance for Christmas and I am not disappointed.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyeshadow Brush

I purchased 5 of these at Dollar General for $1.00 each. WOW! I am very impressed. They feel like expensive brushes, very soft and dense. Worked beautifully for eye shadows. I used another one for cleaning up my French manicures and it worked great for that also. How can you go wrong for $1.00?

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula For Dry, Ashy Skin Lotion
KittyMeowMeow 12/20/2008 9:32:00 PM
OK, the scent is not great. My skin is severely dry in winter months and this lotion is good. The alpha hydroxy definitely helps control the dry, flaky skin. My skin is comfortable for the first time in weeks. Another tip for dry skin sufferers: try the tanning booth. Sounds crazy but it works. Don't go overboard. Go in for ten minutes just a couple of times a month.

Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
KittyMeowMeow 5/31/2008 7:38:00 PM
Just purchased this product after seeing a Good Housekeeping video which recommended it, as well as the $25 Mally Lightwand for highlighting. Thought I'd try out the cheaper Maybelline product first. I bought the Light Medium shade. I'm not disappointed in this product at all, but rather suprised. I have a sallow complexion with several large freckles. The concealer did a good job of covering the freckles. The sponge applicator brush is small enough to focus directly on the problem area, and the concealer is watery, though suprisingly has good coverage. I followed the directions on the back of the package on where to apply the highlighter and I am very pleased with the refreshed glow it gave me. The highlighter is subtle but effective. One lippie off because I would have preferred a little lighter and frostier colored highlighter.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom

Always on the quest for fuller lips, I caved in and purchased this product. Unfortunately, I did not experience fuller lips. I experienced very STICKY lips. Yuck. I think I have better results using the old standard, Tiger Balm. Don't believe the hype for this product.

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - Full & Radiant Lip Definer

This product looks like a clear lipstick in a lovely pink and gold tube. It goes on smooth and provides a "moist" look- not sticky or glossy. I'm not sure if it defined my lips better, but it did provide lovely moisture that lasted longer than the average balm. I have noticed my lips definitely look healthier.

Fragrances -Fresh - Lemon Sugar

This fragrance smells OK wet, but then dries to a lemony detergent smell. I have yet to find the perfect, fresh citrus scent that stays that way.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint

I heard so many rave reviews about this product that I had to purchase it. I like the way it puts a nice, natural looking blush to my face, but other reviewers are correct, if you put foundation over it, you will cover up the effect. You cannot put it on after foundation otherwise it will look too uneven. I also hated that it dripped and flicked little dots of red stain all over my sink. I will not purchase again.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
KittyMeowMeow 4/10/2008 7:41:00 PM
Coconut oil is one of the best kept beauty secrets out there. I just stumbled on it when researching what to do for my dry hair on the internet because nothing else was working. A reputable scientific article (from the National Institutes of Health, I believe) stated that coconut oil is the only oil that is actually absorbed into your hair and will make it stronger. Imagine that! So I tried and I haven't been disappointed. Nothing, nothing works as well. And I've tried everything. I use it like an anti-frizz serum: melt small amounts in my hand and distribute all over towel dried hair. It will take some trial and error to find just the right amount for your hair. It's better to put too little then mist your hair down with water and add more if you need it. You will not be disappointed. And best of all, it's dirt cheap!

Hair Color -Clairol - Brass Free Brunettes
KittyMeowMeow 4/5/2008 10:13:00 AM
I bought medium brown to cover brassiness and red tones. This product made my hair dark AUBURN. Exactly what I DIDN'T want to happen. Next time I'll stick to Sandlewood or Tweed (dark ash blonde). I just can't believe this product is advertised to counteract brass and red. Terrible.
