Lips -GAP Beauty - Lip Color and Gloss

I am mixed on this product. I just bought this duo in "Petal," a nice shiny mauve with a lighter mauve-ish glimmery gloss to go on top of it. The color is amazing--at least, I think it looks great on me! Unfortunately, though, there are drawbacks. I'm rating it a three because it doesn't last that long at all--and I am just sitting at my desk here, not eating or drinking). Also I think it's a bit drying to my lips as it wears off. I gave the price a 2 because, even though I bought it on sale for $1.97, the normal price is somewhere around $14 or $15. The packaging, however, is it's strong suit--it comes in a sleek black matte case. It's a little tricky to open, though, so I only gave it a 4.

Scrubs -Totally Juicy - Totally Nutty Walnut Shell Foot Scrub
rated 5 of 5

A very nice, thickly textured foot scrub. You can use this with or without a pumice stone and still get results. It keeps my feet smooth and soft between pedicures; and I swear I can even go a little bit longer between them if I use this once a week or so. It is cooling and smoothing--I definitely recommend following it up with their lotion!

Skincare - Body -Totally Juicy - Totally Nutty Cocoa Mint Foot Lotion
rated 4 of 5

I agree with all the other posters--this is a solid foot lotion. It cools your feet while moisturizing, AND it is non-greasy. What more could you want for less than $5???

Scrubs -Totally Juicy - Hot Apple Sugar Body Scrub
rated 4 of 5

This is another new drugstore favorite! The only downside to this scrub is that you have to apply it yourself (unless you have an SO who was willing to do it for you!). The scent is totally delicious, too, and it's not too greasy, either, like other scrubs out there (namely, anything by Origins). It is a little on the grittier side, though, so if you have sensitive skin you may feel like it's scratching you a bit.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 4 of 5
KitCat 8/21/2003 10:14:00 PM

All in all a better-than-average mask. Helps keep my skin bright, and I think it's effective on my blackheads, as well. If I had the time, I'd do this mask every other night. IMO, this is a dirt-cheap yet solid competitor for my (used to be?) HG mask, Astara Blue Flame.

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5

Love, love, LOVE! this moisturizer. The texture is just right--not so thick that it leaves you sticky and greasy, and not so thin that it's ineffective. I slather this on my entire after showers, before bedtime, even on my hands after I wash them. The scent is perfect, too--sticks to your skin but isn't so intense that you people can smell you from a mile away. I think it actually blends well with all my perfumes, too. And I won't even get into the fact that it's only $2.09 where I live!

Makeup Brushes -Trish McEvoy - #29
rated 5 of 5

A fabulous brush, from its super-soft bristles to it's rock solid construction. Have had mine for almost two years not, and haven't lost one bristle yet. Does a fabulous job of picking up powder and distributing it just where you want on your eye. A must-have brush!

Makeup Brushes -NARS - Blush Brush 06
rated 3 of 5
KitCat 6/30/2003 9:15:00 AM

A HUGE fan of NARS makeup, I was eager to try their brush line as I am always struck by how soft the e/s brushes are at the makeup counter. However, since I have a very nice set of Trish McEvoy for my eyes, I figured I'd start out with the blush brush. Big mistake. A few months after purchase, bristles started falling out. About a year later, the head of the brush has completely fallen off. I take excellent care of my things, and at $45 a pop, this brush was definitely NOT worth it.

The perfect purple-gold blush for my pale skin and dark hair. I use this in the winter and it just transforms my entire complexion. I can't imagine not having this product forever--this is my Holy Grail winter blush!

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint
rated 4 of 5
KitCat 6/23/2003 9:22:00 AM

Love, love, LOVE my Nude Sparkle Touch Tint--I wish they would expand the line to incorporate more colors! Easy to spread, and has great staying power--so far hasn't so much as creased! I like how it shimmers more than sparkles, too. Perfect for the summer!

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Dr. Pepper lipsmackers
rated 1 of 5
KitCat 6/23/2003 9:19:00 AM

Eek! I love Dr. Pepper, and I love Lip Smackers (yes, 25 and still sneaking in Bonne Bell), but for some reason this just doesn't cut it. The scent/taste is dead on, but for some reason I think it actually dries out my lips. The sheer red tint is nice, but it's not worth it to end up with chapped lips from a lip balm. Will not repurchase!

Blush -Clinique - Blushwear Cream Stick
rated 4 of 5
KitCat 6/23/2003 9:18:00 AM

Since this is only my first venture into the world of cream blushes, I am a bit wary of giving this one a 4...although so far, I think it deserves it! This summer I have been craving texture--the usual powder makeup just won't cut it! I bought this in Lush Blush and I am pleasantly surprised--it spreads nicely over my normal-to-oily cheeks and seems to shave nice staying power (I've had it on for over 3 hours so far, and am pleased). I'm really happy with the compact, too--it really snaps shut so I don't think this will dry out soon at all--unlike some of Clinique's other cream-based products, like the Touch Base for eyes.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer
rated 3 of 5
KitCat 6/24/2002 3:57:00 PM

Just have to put in my two cents here...I really love these little glosses. Especially their little packages--they just seem MADE for collecting, lol! I have the Lip Laquers in Butterfield 8 (a perfect nude color), and Tiffany, which is a beautiful maroon color. However, I have to give this product a three, since I think the pot makes touch-ups during the day really inconvenient. Also the scent does not bother me, but for $20, it should either be completely free of any scent whatsoever, or smell like roses. Just my two cents!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5
KitCat 6/24/2002 3:53:00 PM

I purchased this blush not too long ago, mainly just to see what all the fuss was about. I'm a PPP, and didn't think that it would suit my skin tones, but I figured--what the heck, right?Well, I absolutely LOVE this blush, especially now that it's summer and I have a (fake) tan and glow on my face. It has a wonderful amount of pigment to it, and I love the little gold sparkles. I do a quick sweep during the day, and layer it on at night to really pick up those sparklies. On a sidenote, I purchased this with the Heaven eyeshadow duo as well, and the previous poster is 100 correct--they look great together!

Hair -Suave - Salon Formula Shampoo & Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
KitCat 4/11/2002 1:50:00 PM

This is the shampoo that comes in the tall, skinny bottle like the rest of them, but is gray (not clear). I have to say that of all the shampoos and conditioners I have tried, I keep going back to these. They clean my hair without stripping, make it supershiny and soft, and leave a fresh clean scent behind. I really like this stuff!
