Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Cinema

I do not get any peony from this, unlike other reviewers - it is pure mimosa on me. I got it quite cheaply at TKM so I cannot really complain about the price. It is very generic and smells like 20 others including Avon Far Away and Marks and Spencer Perfection. Very inoffensive it would be a good everyday scent for someone who is not adventurous, I found it boring. Having said that it would probably be a nice gift for someone who is not confident about fragrance. It is OK but not exciting. packaging is quite nice though.

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - Penhaligon's Ellenisia
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 8/20/2009 6:14:00 PM

This is a very pretty sweet summer scent. A white floral with jasmine, gardinia and underlying tuberose. Having worn Fracas parfum for a long time, I was completely sick of tube. Even smelling it on other people made me feel nausea. I am glad to say though, that unlike the anthologie scent, gardenia, this can be absolved of the Fracas Lite charge. It IS sweet and it has tuberose but it does not sicken. It is not my fav Penhaligons scent, which would be Bluebell, but I would purchase again, and it had body cream to match though I could not get bath oil

Crème -Prestige - cream to powder foundation
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 8/6/2009 6:07:00 PM

I have tried many creme powder foundations, some pricey, some not. This is by far the best I have tried. I use the apricot which is not apricot at all but suits my fair skin. Fantastic coverage, unless you have a rreally bad spot, you will not need concealer. This product would not be great for oily skin as it is very moisturising, however, I have found that if it is a hot day, you can use a little loose powder in our oily regions and it sets pretty well, it is also very good to touch up. Downside is the packaging. Both of the ones I bought broke at the hinge. Still for the price it is £7 I am happy to use a bit of sellotape.

Fragrances -Coty - Kate Moss, Summer Time
rated 3 of 5
Kit20 7/12/2009 6:55:00 PM

Basically this is a fruity floral scent loaded with galbanum. It has a nice musky drydown reminiscent of NR for her. I have heard it compared to Penhaligons' Bluebell, but I do not get this at all. It is not the greatest scent I have ever smelled but it is very pretty and pleasant for the summer. It is very inexpensive, I got it for £6.99, and the bottle is small enough to fit any handbag. I would call it an everyday or work scent, useful rather than stunning. That said, I would re-purchase because I like to have something pretty to carry around with me that can be easily replaced if dropped. All in all it is pretty fragrance, a bit less generic than most of its kind.

Blush -Bourjois - mini blush 01
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 6/25/2009 9:48:00 PM

Love these little mini blushes/lippies/eye shadows etc they are perfect for travelling. I have a cream blush in 01, which is a shimmering gold/tan colour. This is lovely with a bit of a tan and can double up as a lip gloss/ eye gloss. The pot is tiny but great to pack into a corner of a suitcase/vanity bag. These products are very inexpensive and the tiny pots last for ages. Maybe I wouldn't make this my daily blush, but for on holiday or emergency quick MU it is brilliant. The only downside is that they are easily lost, but so cheap easily replaced. Would definetly re-purchase. Also for those of you with young teenagers this range would be a great starter/taster for make-up.

Fragrances -Robert Piguet Fragrances - Bandit
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 6/24/2009 5:45:00 PM

With the drastic reformulation of Cabochard this is quite simply the best leather chypre out there. I had been wearing Aramis when I needed my leather fix as Jolie Madame can be just a bit violety when you do not want a floral. I finally decided to buy the EDP of Bandit and was not sorry. This is bitter, green and leather. It is a sophisticated scent and at the risk of being agist I would say not a beginners or a young person's scent. If you want an introduction to leather fragrances, far better to try jolie madame which is a lot more floral. Handle this one with care, but if you have the maturity, confidence and elan to wear it, it is fabulous.

Fragrances -Woods of Windsor - Forget Me Not EDP
rated 4 of 5
Kit20 6/20/2009 3:15:00 PM

this product is really a steal especially if, like me you buy it from a discounter. I bought the whole range, soap, talc, body spray, EDP etc. As has been said previously this is such a clean smell cool and quite soapy. It is ver aldehylic with a hint of Chanel no 5 EDT powder. It is very pretty but I took one lippie off for staying power, I think it will work better layered with the BL and Talc. Still would re-purchase especially for the summer

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - B Dirty
rated 3 of 5
Kit20 6/10/2009 6:30:00 PM

I got this as part of the fragrance sample pack from Be Never be too busy to be beautiful - aka BNTBTBB. This is a sister company of LUSH soaps/bath bombs etc. First of all, for anyone interested in natural cosmetics, this brand is totally vegan and all the scents are made from natural oils and manufactured according to fair trade policies. B Dirty is probably my favourite. It has a lovely citrus top notes followed by thyme, tarragon and lavender. This is a very calming scent and one of the nicest lavenders I have smelt. Listed notes are:tarragon, sandalwood, neroli, lavender, thyme, coumarin, geraniol and cinnamon. If you like complex frags than this one is not for you, but it is fresh and pleasant and could possibly be unisex. The drydown is powdery and pleasant, sillage is good, as is staying power. All in all a pleasant summer scent at a reasonable price, beatifullly bottled and packed. Would re-purchase but probably for a gift.

Treatments -Clarins - Beauty Flash Balm
rated 2 of 5
Kit20 6/4/2009 4:24:00 PM

I quite like this product particularly when used as a mask. Unfortunately I cannot use it under my foundation as I use a 2 in 1 and this peels off underneath it and causes flaking. That said it is a nice feel good product. However I have just discovered two drugstore copies, one by Superdrug and one by M & S. Both are just as good IMO and about a third of the price, so will not purchase again

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
rated 4 of 5
Kit20 6/2/2009 5:37:00 PM

Started using this after reading the MUA reviews, to fade old acne scars - it really works. I bought a bottle of the organic juice and mix it 50/50 with water, I keep it in the fridge. It is a wonderful toner and not only works on acne scars but also on age spots/freckles. It does sting a bit, but I would suggest just adding a bit more water. I find it also removes dead skin and preps my face for moisturiser. I have now no more flaky patches. As had been said you cannot use it in the sun as it burns and discolours skin, also it is a no brainer that you keep it away from your eyes. Other than that it is cheap and it works as well as any glycolic acid treatment I have tried.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Heather Shimmer
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 5/31/2009 6:29:00 PM

My Holy Grail Lipstick colour. I have bought this since I was a teenager and the small size came in pushup. I changed to this from their pink shimmer which was a pretty frosted pink very suitable for a young girl. HS is a mauvy, browny pink which goes with anything you are wearing, (one of the reasons I keep coming back to it). It is very inexpensive and the lasting finish version has v good staying power. it is also creamy and lip plumping. Not the most exciting colour in the world but so versatile I just keep coming back. Would and have, purchased again and again

Fragrances -Paul & Joe - Blanc
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 5/31/2009 6:11:00 PM

This scent is so cold it shivers. It is a beautiful almondy, heliotope, floral, very unusual and smells expensive even though it isn't. Staying power is not great and the bottle is quite small (£25), but it fits into a handbag nicely so re-spraying is no problem. My only problem is that it is quite difficult to lay hands on. Another MUA'er helped me to source it. Having sourced it I would definetly re-purchase.

Eye Shadow -Ruby & Millie - eye shadow red
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 5/31/2009 5:53:00 PM

Let me say right now that despite the name, this product is not red. It is more a reddish/browny/amber. I would not usually buy this colour but the s/a told me it was fabulous on brown eyes - she was right. It brings out all the golden glints in my eyes and warms the brown. Coverage is good, you do not need a base, and the frosting is just enough to shimmer without too much sparkle. It looks fab in daylight as well as in the evening. I often use it wet which makes the coverage more sheer. The packaging however is terrible. If you have never bought one before, there are no instructions about how to open. I was in the middle of attacking it with a pair of scissors when I realised the bottom swivels out sideways. Broke a nail in the process, grr! Stll lovely colour and would purchase again. definetly recommended for brown eyed girls

Blush -Ruby & Millie - Ruby&Millie Face Gloss
rated 1 of 5
Kit20 5/30/2009 7:20:00 PM

I bought this one in tan which I thought would give my paler than pale skin - celtic mum/italian dad- a nice natural colour, it did nothing! I mean NOTHING! I had to cake it on to get any effect and it was so greasy it slid off. I tried powdering over & applying a bit of bronzer on top but I might just as well have used the bronzer on its own. I just cannot think of anyone this product would suit, if even on my pale skin it does not show up. This was a total waste of money. I liked the packaging though, so one lippie.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - moisturizing foundation
rated 5 of 5
Kit20 5/8/2009 5:19:00 PM

My HG foundation. This is the only foundation that I can can get with good coverage, great fair colour, hypoallergenic. I have tried so many over the years but this one in blush Ivory is my favourite. It covers really well without being masklike and does not make me break out. If you have a drier skin than I do (mine is combination) I would recommend using the LM primer first as this foundation is not very moisturising. In fact, I used to use the LM oil free until the stockist ran out and i got this in an emergency. I discovered that it blended better on my skin. It also works very well with the LM concealer. I use cornsilk loose powder to set it and unless it is a very hot day I can get away with only minor repairs all day. The only two things I do not like are: the price, which is hefty and the fact that you are only suosed to keep it for 6 months. I keep mine in the fridge to extend the shelf life. Otherwise I will and have purchased again.
