Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
Kirikireii 6/19/2010 11:48:00 PM
I have the original version with the curved brush. I have to say though, this is DEFINITELY my favourite mascara! I thought this was just going to be an average mascara at first, but it's great. It was on sale and I even had a coupon for it, so I only paid $4 for this The only two things I don't like about this mascara is that if I put on too much, it can be a little bit clumpy, and that when I pull the wand out of the tube, there's a lot of mascara on the tube. (Therefore, if I put it on my eyelashes without removing some excess mascara first, it will clump like crazy) You will probably need an eyelash comb for this though, as it's main problem is clumping. Dare I say HG? It can give me a natural look if I want, but if I want dramatic lashes, I can also achieve that with Voluminous. It's lasting power is quite good. There is minimal smudging and it stays on for a long time. No flaking whatsoever. Holds a curl very very well. Easy to remove I recommend this to everyone!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
Kirikireii 6/16/2010 9:46:00 PM
Never thought I'd buy it after all the ratings... The infamous Dream Matte Mousse... I find that this is either a hit or miss with most people. For me, I'm not really sure. But I'll list my pros and cons. Pros: Good coverage, blendable, portable, can apply using fingers, good shades to choose from, lasts for a long time, a little goes a long way Cons: Makes me oily, makes me break out if I wear it for too long, especially in my T-Zone Area, Whatever touches my face gets foundation on it, if not blended well, it looks COMPLETELY obvious. I don't really use this anymore unless I'm on the go and need it for emergencies. I'm very paranoid about breakouts, as my skin is oily and I'm constantly getting at least one pimple on my face a week... I mainly use this to conceal red spots. Not good for using over dry patches!!! (Which makes it a problem for concealing under your eyes: is it's almost impossible to blend under your eyes --> sometimes it's very obvious you're wearing it.) And around my lip, then I line my lip with lip liner (because my lips are kinda big and doing this makes them appear smaller) Overall, I would not purchase again, only because I still have PLENTY left and I know it won't go anywhere soon. I like using the product, especially for my lip. I do not recommend for people with very dry skin, as it will make the dry skin very obvious. Nor do I recommend for people with very oily skin/acne prone either. I'd give this a 9/10 for what I use it for (concealing / lip) and a 6/10 for actual foundation usage.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
Kirikireii 6/16/2010 9:38:00 PM
At first I wasn't really sure what to make of it. The colour I bought was slightly too light for my skin tone. Brush: Not as terrible as some of the other Physical's Formula brushes I've used, but you can find better brushes. I'll give this brush a 6.5/10 Powder: Great powder, great formula. I wish I bought a shade darker though. This is SHEER coverage though. Especially if you use the brush that comes with it, the coverage will be sheer. And don't forget to "blend" or else you will have too much powder in one area Compact: 5/10. I like how there's a built in mirror, but because the brush is in the same compartment, the mirror is always dusty from the powder. Not only that, but my powder (in time) slowly broke to pieces... Right now, this powder is all broken. I was hoping to use this as a travel-powder for quick fixes // checking myself in the mirror, but the powder is all broken and I can't open the mirror because the powder is on top.... I use is at a loose/powder now and because I don't travel with this, I can use my good brushes to apply. I find that the coverage is much better with my buffer brush. I'd give this product a 8.5/10 or a 9/10 But the packaging really gets to me. Some of the powder spilled in my purse. I recommend buying this, as long as you don't mind the powder breaking in about 2 months.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Explosion
Kirikireii 6/16/2010 9:33:00 PM
I got this as a free sample Pros: You can get at every eyelash The colour is quite dark Very good for length Eyelashes are not crusty feeling Cons: Can get very clumpy! If you accidentally get the little spikey ball in your eye, it really hurts! The mascara wand / formula makes some of your eyelashes stick together I feel that this is an average mascara. I'm glad I didn't buy it full price. I like how I can reach every eyelash, but the formula is clumpy. If I remove half the stuff that I have on my mascara wand, this mascara would be okay. But too much mascara comes out and when I apply it's a little too clumpy. And sometimes my eyelashes are at a weird angle // when I brush them with the mascara wand, they kinda like... comb together. It sorta feels like I'm gelling my EYELASHES.... the way a person would gel hair. Some people might love it though. I'm not saying it's terrible, but I'd give this a 7/10...average.

Treatments -Pro Activ - Proactiv Repairing Lotion
Kirikireii 8/23/2009 3:12:00 PM
It dries out my skin. I have to use more moisturizer (not lotion) afterward, because this unnecessary product dries it out too much. This is average, it used to not work on my acne at all but now it works alright, I just hate the fact that if I don't over-moisturize, I'll get dry patches on my skin. :(

Toners -Pro Activ - Revitalizing Toner
Kirikireii 8/23/2009 3:10:00 PM
I don't really know what to say about this, I don't know if it works or not, since I used it altogether with the three step system but I think that this product is just average. It was the first thing to be used up, and when you put it on a cotton pad / ball it gets absorbed so easily, I decided to just use my CLEAN hands to apply it directly on my face. It's kinda.. foamy-ish.. Like I expected it to be like watery, and clear.. But it was sort of like... think of washing your hands with soap. VERY VERY LITTLE SOAP. So there's like a little bit of foamy/bubbly product on your hands. That's what it is like. It's alright, wouldn't buy again.

Masks -Pro Activ - Refining Mask
Kirikireii 8/23/2009 3:06:00 PM
It doesn't really do too much for me, I don't think. Not even control oil. I know its supposed to "extract the pimple" But it just seems like when I put it on my face it gets worse (the pimple) Or it doesn't do anything. But I have another mask / treatment that has sulfur in it (active ingredient) And it works much better. So I'm not sure. This is average for me, I still sometimes use it, but I don't know why. Maybe I'll get better results later on, but right now its just average. Not really great, not really bad. Also I only used this as a mask once or twice, because there's SO little product that I just can't use it that often, so I use this as an acne spot treatment. And it wears off by the morning, it probably smear on my pillow ew. Better results using this as a mask than a spot treatment.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - Renewing Cleanser
Kirikireii 8/23/2009 3:00:00 PM
I totally disagree with the "thick cream" comment. I find this stuff is FAR too runny. Everytime I use it if I have too much, the product just runs down my hands, down to my arms. Which is really annoying. I have a friend who has acne scarring, but she uses so much of this (like some people use like a HUGE dollop of this every time they wash their face) That's SO bad for your face. It dries out your face, makes you look paler and uhm I think her face has crevices from over-using it.. either that or it's acne scarring.. Well it WORKS. I used it for about 2 years, but I use very little compared to my friends, so one bottle lasts me a year. I have a feeling my 2nd bottle will only last me half a year though, LOL. I don't know if its hormones or if its like using a wrong product, but it used to BARELY work on me. But after switching moisturizers , and I don't use the toner or repairing lotion anymore (too expensive for whole pack; they get used up way too quick and I don't think it's that effective. The cleanser itself is only $18-$20 and with my other products I'm using right now, my acne has cleared RIGHT up. I still have discolouration / occasional pimple, but I think I'm okay with just the cleanser. I'm not quite sure how to rate this because I'm not sure if its Pro Activ cleanser helping, my hormones, or if I was just using a bad (other product) all along.. Definitely buying again. If you've never bought pro activ I recommend just buying a trial set, and if it does work maybe just try the cleanser... Expensive though, but less expensive since it's only $20 for the cleanser. (Opposed to buying the whole set) The watery consistency bugs me though. One lippie off for that. IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS DOES NOT REMOVE MAKEUP. So for those of you who have oily/dry skin or have anything on their face at night.. YOU HAVE TO WASH THAT OFF WITH A CLEANSER THAT IS MEANT FOR TAKING THAT STUFF OF, BEFORE YOU USE PROACTIV.

Masks -St. Ives - Mineral Clay Firming Masque
Kirikireii 8/12/2009 1:12:00 AM
When I first bought it I didn't really use it much, but I use it around once a month now (I get really lazy sometimes.) PROS: a.Tightens/firms skin b. Reduces the sizes of pores, (but not by a lot) c. Face feels fresh, clean and smooth d. Looks much clearer + brighter (face) e. Very Cheap and minimizes giant acne spots f. Face is not oily or dry, which is good. g. There is tons of it Cons: a. When you have it on, as it is "firming" it tingles a little bit too much for my liking, and it stretches my face so I feel kinda uncomfortable b. You have to splash this with water so many times before it comes off c. Hurts when it gets into your eyes d. Application is a MESS, I strongly recommend using a mask brush (it looks like a foundation brush) to apply this, so its even. Because your fingers get SO messy if you don't. e. I don't like its packaging f. After a while the pores grow all large again, you have to use it at least once a week but I don't have time for that. Overall I give it an 8.5/10 , which is really good. I would buy this again. :) I just strongly recommend using a mask brush.

Masks -St. Ives - Peel-Off Hydroxy Masque [DISCONTINUED]
Kirikireii 8/11/2009 11:15:00 PM
I bought this as a gift for my cousin --> But secretly I wanted to try it, lol. It definitely makes your skin smoother and feel a bit cleaner. Maybe even brightens it. I'm not sure about clearing up my skin though. I don't think it works for that. Even though it says all-skin types I find that I do get a bit more oil using this mask.. :( And the peeling off thing is SUCH A HASSLE. You will get something stuck on your skin that you forgot to remove, go out and it looks like your skin is peeling. Would Not Buy Again.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Shine That Pink
Kirikireii 8/10/2009 2:15:00 AM
I LOVE this colour on my lips. I like the sparkle. It gives me enough drama, but not too much drama. Good for a night out, for anywhere really. (Except business meetings, etc, LOL.) The packaging makes it look really classy! :D Two things I don't like: 1. The colour doesn't stay, you have to constantly reapply. 2. After like two hours of use, if your lips weren't previously exfoliated (even if they didn't need to be exfoliated) there will be this gross residue on your lips and if you swipe the back of your hand across your lip you can see like dead skin from your lip.. It's kinda gross. Maybe it's just me. Maybe the wind just blew stuff onto my lip gloss. But either way its gross and embarrassing to go out in public like that. Either way though, I still wear it and I think it looks great. (I exfoliate my lips beforehand, and whatever is stuck on my lip is never obvious, unlike dead skin from your lip)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Pink Afterglow 020
Kirikireii 8/10/2009 2:13:00 AM
I don't like this colour as much as I like "shine that pink" I find it looks too much like those overly hot-pink lip glosses that are too dramatic / drag-ish for me.. If I apply this I have to blot with a towel or mix with another colour so my lips don't look like something crazily dramatic, lol. I don't use this as much. Well, I love the colour, sparkley and it's not sticky, so I love it. The packaging is really great too. Two things I don't like: 1. The colour doesn't stay, you have to constantly reapply. 2. After like two hours of use, if your lips weren't previously exfoliated (even if they didn't need to be exfoliated) there will be this gross residue on your lips and if you swipe the back of your hand across your lip you can see like dead skin from your lip / other random chunks of something.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express Mascara
Kirikireii 8/10/2009 2:04:00 AM
I have the curl one. It does NOTHING for length. A bit for volume, but it can be very clumpy. Very difficult to get at the inner corners of my eyes. Doesn't work too well for Asian-y eyes, in my opinion. It's alright, I still use it, I just don't think it works wonders for me, I'd have to pair this with a lengthening mascara too. It doesn't really hold a curl either. Won't buy again. I think it smudges a bit too. It just might be me though, maybe if I tried it again it'll look better. I might update this.
