Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
Kimmeh5 5/22/2013 3:51:00 PM
This stuff is way too greasy, it broke me out and clogged my pores terribly. I can't believe how my skin reacted to this stuff. I'm having to relearn my skin after quitting the ole smoking habit, and this has been the worst thing I've used on it. Took around 2 weeks, give or take, to get my break outs to calm down even a little. (With using a lot of greek yogurt masks to sooth the inflammation, too.) I am absolutely not a fan. The similar priced Cerave moisturizer also broke me out, but not even half as bad as the Cetaphil moisturizer did. Going to try to use up the giant tubby of it on my body and force my husband to help me use it up.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Kimmeh5 5/22/2013 3:45:00 PM
I have undiagnosed Roscea. Looking at my skin the wrong way causes it to get red/inflamed/irritated. The ever popular OCM cleansing method actually triggered my Roscea--and I tried a lot of oils. So I've been looking for a cleanser/moisturizer that worked for awhile. I don't wear makeup, so I can't comment on makeup removal, but this stuff was the first I ran into since quitting smoking (which made my Roscea worse mind you) that didn't irritate the heck out of my skin. My skin didn't feel dry either, contrary to foaming cleansers usually being a bit more on the drying side. I don't think this is my holy grail cleanser, but I'm very thankful to have found something that didn't set me on fire and will probably continue to keep this around. I did find it just a hair annoying that you have to rub it in your hands to get it to "foam", which it doesn't do very well anyway. But i'm not knocking a lippie off because of it.

Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream
Kimmeh5 3/17/2013 1:43:00 PM
Dang. I feel like I'm the only one who hates this product sometimes. I have very dry, very sensitive skin and quitting smoking has made my skin show it's true colors. I figured trying this out would be a given since it has such great reviews. Nope. Skin does not like it at all. As soon as it's applied to my face, my face tingles... almost menthol like. It seems like the product has the opposite effect of actually drying my face out. Weird! Over the period of 5-10 minutes my face turns bright red, irritated, and I end up breaking out pretty bad. I don't break out too often or nearly as bad as I do when I use this stuff. I haven't been officially diagnosed but I suspect I may have Rosacea which obviously plays a part in my rating of this product. Pretty disappointed. Just wanted to share my experience with this product since there aren't very many negative reviews. Glad I tried it, but not sure what I'm going to do with a giant tub of it now heh.

Polishes -OPI - Gettin' Miss Piggy With It
Kimmeh5 2/6/2013 1:11:00 PM
I bought this on a whim near the holidays. Ulta had this and the green one on sale 2/$12. Not what I expected at all. Not worth wearing by itself, it's glitter in a clear base. I just wore it over Essie's Little Brown Dress for a Valentines Mani and it looked nice, kinda like chocolate covered glitter cherries, haha, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this knowing its in a clear base. Has good wear, as do most OPI's, but I can't see myself wearing this too often.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Shea Butter Skin Enriching Moisturiser
Kimmeh5 2/6/2013 1:02:00 PM
I love this stuff. I'm usually a Curel Fragrance Free fan girl but wanted something that would be better suited as a body lotion. (I used the Curel for my hands.) I still experimented with this as a hand lotion---it's terrible for that. Too oily. I used it and sat down to eat, my hands slipped constantly. However it gets 5 stars as a body lotion. The first time I used it I noticed the complexion on my arms was a bit smoother/brighter and it does not have the slip and slide effect on my body. Even my problematic feet liked it!

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Bonder Rubberized Basecoat
Kimmeh5 12/16/2012 2:36:00 PM
This is my go to base coat! I just love it. It applies really nice, it seems to help with not overflooding your cuticles, and combined with Out the Door top coat from Sally's I get quite a bit of wear from polishes--even cheap ones like Sinful Colors. Considering I do my nails a lot, it's surprising to know the big bottle of this lasts me months. I bought a second bottle as back up and I'm ALMOST on it, but not quite, after 3-4 months. I'm probably going to stick to this long term. Still experiment with others, but this is what I like.

Polishes -Orly - Elsbeth's Rose
Kimmeh5 12/16/2012 2:33:00 PM
This color really is rather blah. A neutral muted out rosey color. It's OK. Don't love it, don't hate it. I'm a fairly pale person, it just seems like something is missing with this but I don't know what.

Polishes -E.L.F. - Nail Polish
Kimmeh5 12/16/2012 1:45:00 PM
I got two ELF sets this holiday season from Target. The little polish cube and the 15 piece set, I think. They're not very great to be honest. VERY streaky. Even with a top coat. I usually don't worry too much about streaks because my top coat usually evens it out, but not this time. I've managed to salvage my polish by putting glitter on top of it though. It takes FOREVER to dry, I don't think it would have dried at all without a fast drying top coat. Good shades, poor quality. Good for experimenting though or for base coats mostly, under glitter.

Polishes -Sephora - sephora by opi Leaf Him At The Altar
Kimmeh5 10/16/2012 1:55:00 PM
This is a very beautiful shimmery almost metallic like green from Sephora by OPI. One of the first OPI polishes I got last year. It's THE perfect green for fall. Application is fantastic, too. Even with multiple coats the formula doesn't seem to layer on super thick like other brands do. (Which in turn makes it hard to dry even with a fast dry top coat.)

Lotions/ Creams -Lubriderm - Advanced Therapy Moisturizing Lotion
Kimmeh5 10/16/2012 1:21:00 PM
I find this stuff to be really thick. Probably not ideal for healing tattoos as it has fragrance in it on top of mineral oil and cetearyl alcohol. (I used Curel Fragrance Free for my tats.) I like it a lot to moisturize my callused feet and for pedicures though. I found it to be greasy but it seems others disagree with me. I'll probably repurchase just for using on my feet. Rarely I will put a small dab of it on the corners of my nose in the winter. (Very small, the mineral oil holds in moisture and prevents annoying flaking skin--never had problems with mineral oil clogging pores but like I said i do not cover my face in it.)

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
Kimmeh5 10/16/2012 1:14:00 PM
Eh. I don't buy Seche Vite very often, but I would buy it again. I'm torn between loving and hating it. Literally half way down the bottle gets VERY goopy--causing nail polish shrinkage, making it difficult to apply cleanly, etc. It also stinks more so than other polishes. It drys super fast and you can apply it on wet polish (actually its preferred that way) which is a plus. I just find it annoying that you basically have to get the seche restore liquid to continue using it. I haven't done that yet but yeah. Lots of quirks with this top coat. I haven't found a top coat that is this shiny though. I LOVE the shine. I said i would buy it again but i'm 50/50 on purchasing it again really.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleaner
Kimmeh5 6/29/2012 3:56:00 PM
I got a free sample of this from a Target beauty bag. I've tried it for awhile and have to say I don't care for it. It smells good, but it made me break out. I normally don't break out (maybe a few times a year at best) and within a week I had 5 or 6 pimples and some redness. It made my face tingle, too. Which is usually a good thing, but it kind of burned. Made my face feel smooth though.

Gels/Soaps -Olay - Olay Silk Whimsy Cleansing Body Wash
Kimmeh5 5/12/2012 3:09:00 PM
I don't care much for the scent of this. Its not terrible, but not my cup of tea either. Smells like... a nursing home, almost? Not quite that bad, but pretty similar. Good thing I got it as a gift, I won't be buying it.

Polishes -China Glaze - Westside Warrior
Kimmeh5 5/11/2012 1:58:00 AM
This is my #1 favorite polish. Honestly. I just adore the color and China Glaze application has always been excellent. More of a tom boy-ish color. I love it, it makes really neat camo design mani/pedi's.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
Kimmeh5 5/11/2012 1:54:00 AM
I got this mainly because it's popular. (Shh you've done it, too.) The shade is just lovely and I understand why people love it. A nice bright blue-ish green shade, perfect for spring. As with most of CG's polishes, application is nice. Just a lot of polish tends to get on the brush at once. (Which i like.)
