Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Apple By Apple - Super Lash
KillersandLiars 11/21/2010 12:41:00 AM
I really wanted to like this, but it was basically one of the most awful mascaras I have ever tried. The brush felt so gross, and the mascara did nothing but coat my lashes in black chunks. It went right into the garbage after one use.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
KillersandLiars 11/21/2010 12:18:00 AM
I think I have finally found my HG concealer... and LUCKY ME it's only $6. (The downside, of course, is that I have to go to Wal-Mart to get it, and I don't really like shopping there. That's another story all together though.) This concealer is great for me because it doesn't tend to accentuate areas that are dry (like around my nose or maybe a spot on my chin.) It is very pigmented and blends nicely. I have found that it covers the darkness under my eyes very well and lasts all day without really settling into the creases too much. The little concealer pencil that comes with it is fabulous as well. I am somewhere in the NC/NW10-15 range and Light is a really good match for me. I give this product a solid thumbs up and would recommend it to anyone who wants a not-too-dry do-everything concealer.

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm
KillersandLiars 11/21/2010 12:14:00 AM
Overall, this is a decent concealer. I don't like the package one bit, and it is not good for dry skin or for concealing an area with any hint of dryness. It is nicely pigmented and good for under eye circles, but you have to use a moisturizer or eye cream underneath. I used Lighter than Light, and it was a decent match, though it was a little orange-leaning for my fair skin. All in all, it's not a bad concealer, but there are many better ones out there IMHO.

Palettes -Stila - Make An Impression In Moscow Palette
KillersandLiars 11/15/2010 3:26:00 PM
I wish Stila was making more than just five of these awesome little palettes! So far, Moscow is the prettiest. Lily Convertable Color is amazing, and the shadows are very nice. The light beige color is a little sheer, but the others are very smooth and pigmented. For $10, this palette is a home run! I think the products are very generous in size considering the price. The shadows are about the size of a nickle, and the CC is the size of a regular CC. It has a nice little mirror, as well as the cover art that Stila is famous for. Get this palette while you can, I am sure that it's going to sell out.

Fragrances -Bliss Labs - Bliss Eau de Toilette
KillersandLiars 11/15/2010 3:22:00 PM
I got a deluxe rollerball of this fragrance in a somewhat recent Sephora order. I love green scents, and this one really smells green. To me, it smells like cucumbers, white flowers and grass. It is actually quite a relaxing fragrance. It doesn't last super long on me, which is why I only gave it 4 lippies, but when my rollerball runs out I probably will get the full size. I can see this being my go-to spring fragrance. The bottle is also very cool to look at.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
KillersandLiars 11/15/2010 3:18:00 PM
I never really felt like I had a real Holy Grail blush, but Deep Throat may actually become my HG. It is the perfect pinky flush for my pale, neutral-toned skin. It looks kinda shimmery in the pan, but to be honest, not a lot of shimmer shows up once it's applied. I think if Orgasm is too orange or too bright for you, Deep Throat might be exactly what you're looking for.

Eye Primer -BeneFit Cosmetics - Stay Don't Stray
KillersandLiars 11/15/2010 3:15:00 PM
I gave this product an honest chance, but it failed miserably as both an eye primer and an under-eye concealer primer. On my lids, it made applying shadow a needless chore, and it creased very badly within just about an hour or so. I don't have particularly oily lids, so I was shocked by this. Under my eyes, it settled into the very minimal lines that I have and accentuated them quite a lot. Overall, this is an awful, unfortunate product.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Perle 02
KillersandLiars 9/12/2010 7:37:00 PM
Perle is the latest Rouge Coco I've tried and it makes me want more! It's a very pretty sheer beige pearl color. I am very pale (NC/NW10) with somewhat pigmented lips, so this doesn't read brown on me, it's more of a nude beige pink. Alone it is lovely, but with a pink lipliner it's even more perfect. I've only tried one RC so far that didn't work for me. This is a great line and I can't wait to try the rest.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Powder Brush
KillersandLiars 9/10/2010 9:31:00 AM
I have tried several powder brushes with both synthetic and natural fibers and surprise surprise this cheap one is my favorite. (Note: others I've tried include MAC, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Posh.) The handle is a wonderful light weight bamboo and the ferrule is nice and tight. Some cheaper powder brushes seem to be loose in the ferrule and a lot of bristles shed, but I've never experienced this with my EcoTools brush. I also love that the bristles are synthetic and the handle is bamboo, which is one of the best renewable materials around. I plan on picking up as many of the rest of the EcoTools brushes that I can to complete my collection.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - 5150
KillersandLiars 9/6/2010 11:49:00 PM
I am a huge fan of UD lipsticks, but 5150 always looks more red than coral on my pigmented lips. I am not complaining, but I wish I could get something closer to the color that it is in the tube.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Extra Volume Collagen mascara
KillersandLiars 9/6/2010 11:46:00 PM
This is probably my current favorite drugstore mascara. The brush is awesome and I like the formula a lot. IMHO L'Oreal's mascaras are so much better than anything else in the drugstore.

Polishes -OPI - Cozu-melted in the Sun
KillersandLiars 8/26/2010 12:19:00 AM
This is one of my HG neutrals. It's very pretty and feminine. I love the sparkle that it has. The color is very flattering as well. It's sheer enough that you can do 2 coats and have it be subtle or go ahead and do 3 for more opacity and shimmer.

Polishes -OPI - Mad as a Hatter [DISCONTINUED]
KillersandLiars 8/26/2010 12:17:00 AM
Like everyone else, I was totally stoked for OPI's AiW collection. Mad as a Hatter was the star for a reason--IT IS AWESOME. If you don't believe me, I dare you to wear this polish out in bright sunlight.

Polishes -Revlon - Valentine
KillersandLiars 8/26/2010 12:16:00 AM
This is a beautiful shade of red, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. It stained my nails (even with base coat), made the biggest mess while removing, and applied worse than any less expensive polish I've tried. I was so disappointed with this.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
KillersandLiars 8/26/2010 12:14:00 AM
What a lovely color! IMHO it looks great on a variety of skintones. I typically stay away from pastel or even pseudo-pastel shades, but I fell for the FA hype. Interesting side note: I have a friend who has had this on her toes all summer and she loves it too!
