Masks -Unlisted Brand - Farmhouse Fresh - Splendid Dirt
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 3/1/2013 6:01:00 PM

Every single Farmhouse Fresh product I have tried so far has been amazing; this mask is no exception! Splendid Dirt is described as a "nutrient mud mask with organic pumpkin puree" that is ideal for "sensitive, fragile and dehydrated skin types". The mask is creamy in texture, a tan orange colour, and smells like pumpkin pie. I have had my jar of Splendid Dirt for two months and the glass container keeps it moist and just like the day I bought it. I was worried the container would cause the mask to dry out and ruin it before I used it up, but this hasn't been the case so far. I have been leaving the mask on anywhere from 15-30min. My face definitely flushes for the first few minutes after application, just like the product label mentions, but then it settles down and the mask feels comfortable and dries slowly on my skin just like most mud based masks. Any blemishes I have shrink down considerably and are less red after using this mask. Impurities and clogged pores are drawn out and easy to extract afterwards. My skin glows and this lasts for at least a couple of days. I have been applying this product at least once a week and I really have seen improvements, way more than most masks I have before regardless of whether they are high end or drug store products. The label on the jar states you will get 14-18 applications from one jar, which seems believable. I apply it fairly thinly and hope to get at least twenty applications.

Conditioner -Kiehls - sunflower color preserving conditioner
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 2/10/2013 12:50:00 PM

First, I picked up several tubes of this conditioner at my local Winners for $11.99, so I can't comment on the actual retail price. For what I paid for this product, I would absolutely buy it again. I have died dark red chin length baby fine wavy hair that I regularly straighten. This conditioner seems to have helped to keep my died red hair more vibrant and to have reduced fading. It doesn't way my hair down, which is a necessity for me when reviewing any hair product. My hair is left very shiny, smooth, and bouncy when using my daily combination of this conditioner and Aveda's Colour Conserve shampoo. The fruity fragrance is very strong using it and it does linger in my hair until I wash it again, but I don't find it overpowering or offensive. This is the first Kiehls product I have used and I really like it.

Mascara -Urban Decay - Lush Lash Mascara
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 1/4/2013 2:19:00 PM

Finally, my HG mascara! Lush Lash leaves me with dark, thick, non-crunchy/clumpy, and long lashes. I haven't experienced any flaking or smudging, even on my lower lashes. The formula doesn't irritate my eyes. This mascara is an absolute win for me! I have tried over 25+ kinds of mascara from high and low end brands, and I will continue to buy this mascara over and over. As for the conditioning and lash growth stimulating factors, I haven't noticed too much growth, but my lashes seem to be falling out much less. I'm pretty happy with my lash length to begin with, so this wasn't a critical criteria for me when evaluating a mascara.

Skincare - Body -Badger - Organic Badger Balm For Hard Working Hands
rated 2 of 5
KikiBee09 1/1/2013 2:09:00 PM

I purchased this balm hoping it would offer the same effective moisturizing properties as the Badger Balm Cuticle Care, which I love. Unfortunately, the Organic Badger Balm for Hard Working Hands doesn't leave my hands moisturized at all. If anything they feel drier after applying it and allowing it to absorb. I have been putting it on before bed hoping it will soak in overnight and I will wake up with softer, moisturized hands, but this hasn't happened. The only positives for this product were the scent is non-offensive, the ingredients are organic, and it's not excessively expensive. Hopefully it works for someone else, but I will not purchase this again and I'm not even sure if I will try finishing it.

Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Bronzing Powder in Natural
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 8/6/2012 9:43:00 PM

Initially I thought this bronzer would be too dark for my skintone, which is NC15 during most of the year and maybe NC20 during the summer if I'm not diligent with my sunscreen. However, this bronzer suits my skintone quite well. It's a matte light brown with no red or orange tones. This product adds just enough colour to my face to give the appearance that I'm lightly tanned. Also, this bronzer blends nicely and doesn't leave any harsh or obvious lines. This is a great bronzer for fair skin!

Polishes -Butter London - Saucy Jack
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 8/6/2012 7:50:00 PM

Saucy Jack is a lovely, deep red polish with a jelly finish. To me it looks like it is a blue-based red that resembles the colour of fresh blood. I've worn it on both my fingernails and toenails with Butter London's Nail Foundation base and Butter London's Hardwear top coat. On my fingernails this polish lasted 2-3 days without starting to chip or show tipwear.,which I find to be pretty average for most polishes I have worn. I have it on my toenails right now and it has been at least a week and the polish still looks like it was freshly applied. Saucy Jack applies perfectly, with a smooth, not too thick, consistency that is easy to work with. I'm sure it will take a long time to finish this bottle, but given the choice I would buy this polish again.

Mascara -Urban Decay - Eyelash Primer Potion
rated 4 of 5
KikiBee09 7/8/2012 6:17:00 PM

I'm on my third tube of this primer and still really like it. It makes my lashes look like fake ones, but not too over the top. I usually only apply one coat of the primer and then immediately apply mascara afterwards; I've found this method to bring the best results. If I wait to apply my mascara I find my lashes tend to clump. If I apply more than one coat of primer, I find it harder to hide the whiteness of the primer on my lashes. The one issue I have with this product is that a lot of primer tends to come out on the brush when I pull it out of the tube; you have to make sure you scrape the excess product off of the brush before applying it to your lashes, or your lashes will stick together and appear clumpy. Otherwise, I think this lash primer is great and will likely continue to buy it. I've also used Clinique, Lancome, and MAC's lash primers and like the UD one much better, as it actually makes a significant difference in the appearance of my lashes.

Lotions/ Creams -Badger - Cuticle Care
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 6/17/2012 7:49:00 PM

I live in a very dry climate and work in health care, which means constant hand washing and use of hand sanitizer, equalling dry and cracked cuticles. I've tried Burt's Bees, OPI Avoplex, Lush, argan oil, and olive oil on my cuticles and Badger Cuticle Care beats them all. It's a little greasy upon application, but absorbs within a few minutes. The smell is light and inoffensive. I appreciate the all natural, organic ingredients. This product seems like it will last for a long time, but once I do manage to run out I will definately get it again. I purchased mine from Planet Organic, just in case any Canadians are having trouble finding it.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
rated 4 of 5
KikiBee09 3/9/2012 3:31:00 PM

This mascara, when I have the time and patience to fiddle with it, gives me long, dark black, false-looking lashes. If I apply They're Real without taking the time to slowly wiggle the brush through my lashes, they end up looking clumpy. I've been using a tube of this for a month now and it's still preforming like a brand new mascara. I find using a lash primer doesn't actually make a big difference with the the end result with this mascara, so it's nice that I can skip a step and still have great looking lashes. It's quite expensive, $31 Canadian, but as long as it keeps performing the same way as it does now, I think I would buy it again.

Polishes -Butter London - All Hail the Queen
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 3/9/2012 2:39:00 PM

All Hail the Queen is one of the best Butter London polishes I have tried so far; I have about 10 of their polishes. This colour works well with my NC15 skin tone and is suitable for my work environment but still has enough of an edge that I enjoy wearing it. The application is smooth and dries quickly. With Essies's Good to Go top coat I get about a week's wear from this polish. The price is high, $17 Canadian, but regardless I like this polish so much that I will buy it again and again.

Highlighters -MAC - Beauty Powder in Too Chic
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 1/3/2011 1:41:00 AM

Initially, I was on the fence about buying this product. I already have NARS' Albatross and had heard that this was a close dupe. Once seeing Too Chic in the store, it seemed close to Albatross but with almost warmer, more golden undertones. The texture of this highlighting powder is very smooth with a fine shimmer. Very tasteful and subtle, and I find Too Chic suites my NC15 skin better than Albatross.

Eyeliner -MAC - Dark Diversion Fluidline
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 12/27/2010 10:06:00 PM

I've been excited to buy MAC's newest fluidline shade, Dark Diversion, since I viewed previews of the Stylishly Yours collection in November. I find fluidline's easier to use than traditional liquid liner and use them almost daily with my MAC 210 brush. Since purchasing, I'm very pleased with this eyeliner. It goes on smoothly, just as smoothly as Blacktrack and Dipdown, and is very pigmented. I found I only needed to go over once or twice with my brush in order to achieve a consistently deep purple shade. This shade brought out the green in my blue-green eyes and paired nicely with MAC's Femme Fi and Blackberry eyeshadows. There is a slight shimmer to this eyeliner, but not over the top and work appropriate. Purples can sometimes make me look tired and bring out any red in my eyes and lids, but I think the brownish undertone of Dark Diversion stops it from doing this. Love this!

Mascara -Smashbox - Lash DNA
rated 2 of 5
KikiBee09 11/29/2009 10:08:00 PM

This mascara stung my eyes and made them water like crazy! Regardless of how careful I was when applying this product, I would have this issue every time and have to remove and re-apply different mascara. The only plus I that feel this product has is that it is a very deep black. As for the nourishing aspects of this mascara and its lash growing properties, I can't speak to these, as I was never able to have this on my lashes for more than a few minutes.

Brows -MAC - Eyebrows Crayon in Spiked
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 10/26/2009 3:04:00 PM

Finally an eyebrow pencil without warm undertones! The description for this colour is "bottle brunette" and once I used it I could see why. I die my hair to be around a 4-5C and up until now other eyebrow pencils have left my eyebrows looking mismatched. Spiked is completely free of any warm tones and instead is a nice neutral medium brown. I will buy this again and again. The only complaint I have is regarding the packaging. Since there is no way to see how much product is actually left, I'm always worried I will run out!

Bath Treatments -LUSH - The Comforter Bubble Bar
rated 5 of 5
KikiBee09 10/26/2009 2:58:00 PM

This is one of my favourite Lush products. Comforter smells like creamy vanilla and Ribena (a blackcurrent drink mix from the UK). I can usually get between 4-5 bubble baths from each bar. My skin is always left super soft and smelling great after having a bath with this.
