First off I hate the packaging. I usually only like pumps, however because this is whipped, I guess they couldn't put it into a pump container. I have bought this foundation twice so far and both time the lid broke so that it doesn't close anymore. So I just have to place the lid on top in hopes that it won't come off in my bag and make a mess. So the packaging sucks. The actually product...I love the consistency. I think whipped is the best consistency out there for foundation. The coverage I would say is medium. It definitely is buildable but honestly when I build it on, I feel like it just looks worse. Like it looks dirty. Also this appears white in pictures just like all other foundations that I've tried so that doesn't really bring down the rating for me. All in all, it doesn't make me oilier than usually or really break me out. It lasts all day but you would need to touch up if you touch your face a lot. Also it transfers very easily which always sucks but I have yet to find one that doesn't.
Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Clean Start Bedtime for Breakouts
Kiana16 6/9/2012 2:07:00 AM
I'm not sure how I should review this product but let me say this: When I first got a sample from sephora, it worked AMAZINGLY on my skin and literally made my breakouts disappear completely super fast. I had clear skin thanks to this. I went and got another sample once I finished that (yes to procrastinate on spending $30 lol) and again it worked fantastically. My skin was completely clear. A few months went by I didn't get a new one because I hadn't gone to sephora in a while. But I got it again a month ago, and it did absolutely NOTHING. It did not remove pimples at ALL. My skin got used to it, which is weird because it was actually a while since I used it last. Oh well, I went to sephora again today and decided to try something new. I got B.Kamins treatment and will do a review for that to see if that will help me :(
Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Kiana16 6/6/2012 1:01:00 AM
This is by far the best conditioner I have ever used. I use it alternating with another conditioner called "Amenta" from Winners. The other one feels insanely rich and creamy and silky in the shower, and even though the tresemme one doesn't feel as rich and creamy, it's results are awesome. My favourite thing about this conditioner is it's de-tangling properties. It surprisingly de-tangles my hair way better than any other conditioner.
Toners -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toner
Kiana16 4/24/2012 12:42:00 AM
Vitamin C generally brightens the skin and makes it appear more glowy and radiant, so when I found a toner that is vitamin C based, I was so excited. I have used up an entire bottle of this toner and I love it. It has little to no harmful ingredients, which is what drew me towards it. All natural pretty much. I always moisturize afterwards. I feel like this does balance my skin a lot, will definitely repurchase.
I just bought this mascara a few days ago and have used it 3 times so far. Ok so here's what I really like: it is unusually creamy for a mascara which makes me feel like it's not damaging my eyelashes which i love! Also I really like the wand, and it does make lashes look pretty and soft. You can just tell by looking at the lashes that they look moisturized and healthy and super pretty. I kind of feel as though it emphasizes length rather than volume which is not exactly what I what I want (I already have long lashes). But there is zero flakiness and I still absolutely love this mascara, just is it worth $31? Cons: You have to layer on for it to look voluminous (but then again you always do for mascaras--I guess I just expected magic in a tube). I feel like I have been able to build just as much maybe more volume with my l'oreal voluminous mascara (my HG mascara). The price is waaaaay too steep that I've decided I will only use this for special occasions. That is the reason I will not repurchase unless I have excess money lying around (lol) because it's just way too expensive. If it wasn't for the price though, I WOULD purchase this when it runs out instead of my l'oreal voluminous only because they deliver the same results except lancome is so creamy and almost moisturizing :)
Treatments -DermOrganic - Leave In Treatment with Argan Oil
Kiana16 3/7/2012 1:38:00 AM
This is an awesome product for added shine, softness and decreased frizz. I currently use this, macadamian leave-in oil treatment, live clean argan oil, as well as garnier fructis sleek&shine leave in conditioner. I switch up everytime so I use these four products equally. The reason I do this is to ensure my hair doesn't get used to any one product. So far I would say this is my favourite of the 3 oils that I use. The reason: it is the most lightweight so it doesn't weigh my hair down if I want to achieve volume, and it's awesome at controlling frizz and adding softness and shine. You need very little so my bottle will last a loooong time considering that I probably end up using it once every 2 weeks (wash my hair 2-3 times a week and use this every fourth shower lol). My only complaint is the scent which is too fruity and strong for me. It's just wayyy too sweet but I don't care, as long as it performs well. Macadamian oil.............now THAT smells like heaven!
Shampoo -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Natural Apricot Shampoo - Super Shine
Kiana16 3/7/2012 1:27:00 AM
The first time I used this, I really enjoyed the shine and extra luster it gave to my hair. I use this shampoo every time I wash my hair with the exception of once every two weeks which I use a clarifying shampoo. And I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. I think this is a regular shampoo, but then again, I don't have damaged hair that needs moisture, my hair is actually oily. So all I look for is a shampoo that cleans well, and adds shine and decreases frizz. This seems to do that and I have no complaints. The only thing is, and as with all products imo, after using this regularly, I feel that it doesn't have the same effect on my hair as the first few times. MAYBE it's because I have just gotten used to the new appearance of my hair and the new shine, or maybe it just doesn't work as well. My hair is still shiny, I just can't remember if it is like before I bought this shampoo or not. So what I suggest is to switch between two shampoos; that way your hair might not get used to one product. I just purchased organix cherry blossom shampoo and I can't wait to use that as well. Also this is sulfate free so be prepared for zero lather (which doesn't bother me one bit). It cleans well, adds shine and that's all I look for in a shampoo anyway so I'm happy. Definitely needs a conditioner though
Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
Kiana16 12/6/2011 8:36:00 PM
This is a great exfoliator (I call it that because I feel like that's exactly what it does). I use it every night, sometimes every other night because I don't want to be too rough with my skin. I use my tea tree body shop cleanser and use this brush with it. I have yet to try the cleanser it comes with from fear that it will make me break out. Anyway, this device is great, and your skin feels smooth after. Warning: be VERY gentle!!! I can't use this on my skin on the sides of my nose! Where I have pores. I guess that part of my face is super sensitive because I used it there a couple times and each time it made that area super red and awful! you have to be REALLY gentle, do not press down, just let the spinning do all the work, just hold it against your face and move it around. It's great for my forehead, sides of my face, nose and chin just not that specific area, since no matter how gentle I am, it just makes it red. Also I feel like my moisturizer really sinks in afterwards. It give a super clean feel which everyone wants! The only reason I wouldn't repurchase is because, well, I wouldn't repurchase this lol I would just buy new brush heads. But aside from that even if it broke, it's too expensive. I would probably just go back to my homemade exfoliator (lemon juice and sugar scrub)
Lotions/ Creams -Clinique - Deep Comfort Body Butter
Kiana16 12/6/2011 8:29:00 PM
This is the only product I like from Clinique. It is super moisturizing and very butter-y. I like how thick it is. I won't be purchasing again however because it is expensive and you only get a little which isn't enough for slathering all over my arms and legs after I get out of the pool. I'm going to purchase the Body Shop body butters, you get a lot more product, plus they have amazing sales!
Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
Kiana16 12/6/2011 8:25:00 PM
This is my favourite lip balm! I love that it makes your lips feel super smooth, without having a thick glaze cover over your lips. It looks so natural and feels amazingly smooth. I ofcourse love the packaging and the fact that it's all natural. I have used it alot but the dome shape hasn't changed yet which means it'll last a long time! it smells nice too. I was pleasantly surprised about the slight tint it gave my lips. Maybe tint isn't the right word but s slight sheen? It just made my lips look more pink rather then red and it gives a slight bit of sheen/sparkle. It looks amazing i love the way it makes my lips look! definitely repurchasing. Oh and it lasts quite a while I think, until I eat anyway lol
I LOVE this mascara. Only mascara I use and the best one I have ever tried (even compared to high end mascaras like dior). I love the curved brush one in black. I have super long lashes and they are already curled naturally, however they are so fair. So you can imagine the results I get with this, because it truly does volumize nicely! I always get compliments on my lashes and how they always look fake (haha perhaps not such a good thing?). HOWEVER, I recently bought a new one and I thought it was a curved brush but it wasn't, and IT SUCKS. it's SUPER flaky (never had this problem with the curved) and the formula must be completely different because it did NOT make my lashes look good. clumpy, does not separate lashes...so weird! why would they use a different formula, it's the same mascara! just different wand! so I manually curved the wand (just by pushing it against the edge of the tube) and I'm just going to return it and try to find the one that I love, because this version just didn't work for me. bottom line: get the curved wand one, it's incredible!
Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis XXL Volume Thickening Mousse Extreme
Kiana16 12/6/2011 7:59:00 PM
I really like this stuff, I apply it to towel dried (but still 90%wet) hair only at the roots, because I don't want it to be like a gel for my hair. I want to maintain my soft curls but with volume at the roots. It works well, however this is the type of stuff that will give you major build-up! I use it rarely but when I do, I use liveclean clarifying shampoo after to clear off the buildup
Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
Kiana16 12/6/2011 7:55:00 PM
At first I loved the tint it gave my legs, however I used it more to make it darker but ohmannn. It made my legs an orange-y colour! I wanted a nice bronze-brown tint not orange! Btw if you ever swim or go in a pool, don't bother using this as the colour that I spent a week trying to build on my legs, came right off and I had pale legs again after going in a pool.
This stuff is brilliant and the reason I bought this instead of Morrocan/Macadamian is because it was recommended by naturesknockout, which meeannnss this has no harmful ingredients in it, and in their review, they said it's safe and awesome for your hair :) So I went out and bought the biggest size they had, and I am very glad I did. So far I have only used it twice and that's only because I use it every week and a half. I don't really need too much extra moisture/ care for my hair since I rarely style it and I generally take really good care of my hair so I have no split ends. Also when I apply it in the shower, I only use one pump and a half for my waist long medium thickness hair. I leave it on for about 5 minutes and OMG. I could not stop touching my hair when it air dried. It was SO soft and suppperrr silky. I was amazed I kept touching my hair. Definitely purchasing this again though I don't think I will finish my giant bottle for another several years haha
Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream
Kiana16 12/6/2011 7:37:00 PM
Just bought this 2 nights ago since a sales associate recommended it to me. I told her I have oily skin and she said she does too and she LOVES this stuff. She uses it morning and night. I was a bit skeptical because I was worried since I didn't want it to make my oily skin worse. This is an amazing night cream for me. It is very think, and yet it does NOT leave an oily residue which I love! It literally makes your skin super baby soft (as someone else mentioned below)! My skin soaks this stuff up wonderfully and it doesn't make my skin oilier, only gives it the moisture it needs (b/c don't forget you MUST moisturize even the oiliest skin!). I have only used it 3 times so far, but I will update if my review changes. So far loving the texture and feel of this moisturizer and the way it makes my skin feel.
