Eye Shadow -NYX - Chocolate

Perfect tone of brown. It's not too warm. On me, it leans a nice neutral brown. Perfect shade of brown. It doesn't accentuate my dark circles and it is dark enough for my NC40 skin. Finally, a crease color that actually shows up. Perfect formula. It blends real smooth and the pigment is very good. I only used one layer for it to show up. No sparkles which makes it a great workday crease color.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Armani Code for women
rated 1 of 5

I knew someone that wore this scent and it suited her body chemistry very nicely. I did not hesitant and ran out to purchase it for myself. On me, this made me very nauseated. The scent is far too overpowering. For me, the scent lingers and grows stronger and stronger until I want to vomit. On me, the scent is very very sweet and reminds me of those pixie stick candies with notes of a spring bouquet of flowers. I can detect a hint of spice in this when I sniff the bottle but on my skin, I really can't notice it.

Polishes -OPI - OPI Ink
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 5/8/2012 10:27:00 AM

I fell in love with this polish at the salon. Very pretty as I love all things dark sparkly and blue. I was able to get opague color with 2 coats. On me, this looks dark navy in the shade. In the sun, it looks more purple and you can see all the little micro pink sparkles in it. I do however enjoy this color more when the sun is shining on it.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
rated 4 of 5
KeyWestBum 5/1/2012 3:58:00 PM

Good product for my hair type. I have extremely thick long hair. My hair is also coarse with a wave and frizz. Many products seem to have no impact on my crazy hair. I have to say, I do like this glossing cream. I like using this when I let my hair air-dry because it gives my usual frizzy waves a nice gloss to them and really does calm down my frizzies. Because of my hair texture, I need a quarter sized amount instead of a pea sized amount. I've tried using a pea size and it did nothing. I am in love with the scent of this. It's a very slight herbal scent that makes me happy. The price is a bit $$$ for the amount of product you get which is the only downfall.

I am not a fan. My hair extremely thick and long. I have corase hair that has a wave and frizz. This creme did nothing when I used the recommended amount but when I tried using more product, it left my hair feeling goopy and dirty.

Polishes -Milani - One Coat Glitter - Silver Dazzle
rated 4 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/30/2012 2:36:00 PM

Love this polish. The sparkles dance in the sunlight. Shade is a cool toned blue based dark grey with major sparkes. One coat I beg to differ, you need two coats for full coverage. Pretty with a rocker edge vibe. Feels gritty on though due to the glitter and it's a pain to take off.

Palettes -Too Faced - Natural Eye Kit
rated 4 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/30/2012 1:31:00 PM

I held out on this palette for a while figuring I had many similar shades to this one. I bought this on impulse and I'm pretty happy with it. I rate this palette a 4. I took one lippie off due to some shades being a bit too glittery for my taste. But, this is an outstanding value and worth checking out. For $36 you get 9 shades and a sample of their Shadow Insurance Primer. This kit also comes with handy cards that show you how to do certain looks. This palette is separated in three sections called: Day, Classic and Fashion. The Day shades are: Heaven (matte bone) Velvet Revolver (matte light beige) Sexpresso (matte cool toned dark brown). In order from fave to least fave, I find Sexpresso to be the most pigmented and best shade in the section. Sexpresso is very smooth and blends out perfectly in the v and crease area. Next, I like Heaven which is a nice wearable highlight shade. Last is Velvet Revolver. I particularly don't like this color only because it doesn't really show up on my NC40 skin. The color is a bit drab on me. The Classic shades are: Silk Teddy (shimmery pink nude with a pearl finish) Push-Up (shimmery brown plum) Erotica (dark brown with shimmery gold flecks). In order from fave to least fave, I find Push-Up to be absoultely beautiful. I love using this shade for a crease or lid color. Really pigmented and blends easy. Next, I like Erotica followed by Silk Teddy. I do like Silk Teddy however it can look too frosty against my skintone if I use too much. Silk Teddy reminds me of MAC Naked Lunch on Steroids. The Fashion shades are: Nude Beach (pink nude with large glitter) Honey Pot (very warm toned honey gold brown with gold shimmer ) Cocoa Puff (very warm toned dark brown with gold glitter). In order from fave to least fave, I like Honey Pot the best followed by Cocoa Puff then Nude Beach. Out of all the shades listed in this review, I like Nude Beach the least. Nude Beach is rough in texture due to the very large chunks of glitter. Fallout is a major problem. Also, I find Nude Beach has poor pigmentation against my skintone. If I try to layer it, I just get more glitter and no color. Shadow Insurance: The sample that came with this palette was rather thick and very creamy. The primer applied nicely to the eye area with ease. I found that it made the shadows adhere to the eye area well and provided longevity. However, as for providing vibrant shade enhancement, I found it to be somewhat lacking in this department. I get better vibrancy with LORAC Behind the Scenes Primer.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mythical
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/25/2012 9:30:00 AM

I purchased Mythical during this past holiday season. I am in love with this color. Mythical is a unique shade because I see different colors in this. Mythical has a red, copper and bronze mixed in to make this beautiful color. Mythical does have a lot of shimmer in it as well. The formula is a Veluxe Pearl and it goes on super smooth. I find the pigmentation to be decent. I had to put 2 layers on top of my primer to get my desired depth against my NC40 skin. I experienced no fading and color stayed true all day. I notice that Mythical has a close resemblance to Coppering but certainly not a dupe. Coppering is more bronzey orange whereas Mythical has red in it.

Polishes -OPI - Paint My Moji-toes Red
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/23/2012 11:47:00 AM

Shade: Strong orange based warm red. Appears more coral then red on the nails. Effect: Tiny silver sparkles not really visible unless you look very close. Formula: Creamy with no streaks. Great pigmentation with true to color in 2 coats. Overall: Beautiful color for any season. I was at the salon sitting to a lady who is about NW15 and I'm NC40. We both picked the same polish color and it looks pretty against both of our skintones.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coppering (veluxe pearl)
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/23/2012 9:32:00 AM

Beautiful shadow that works great for my NC40 skin. Coppering is warm golden toned red copper with super pigmentation. I like using this shade for easy daytime looks or create a different spin on a smoky eye. Coppering works as a lid, v and crease shade for me. Very versatile and fun to use.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Crystal Eyez Lovely & Luminous
rated 1 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/19/2012 9:11:00 AM

Crystal Eyez is a new product from Milani. Crystal Eyez are gel eyeshadows with heavy glitter. I found these at CVS for $7.49. There are about 7 beautiful shades in this collection from purple to green and gold. I purchased a color called Lovely & Luminous which is a charcoal base with multi-colored glitter in it. I have to admit, these shadows look so much fun and so pretty in the tube. However, once applied, they are very sheer. These shadows remind me of those cheap little girl play makeup kits. At age 34, I do feel a bit silly wearing this shadow but I do love a little fun in my makeup. After watching youtube, I believe these are meant to be a base or topcoat for a regular shadow. Crystal Eyez doesn't look good when applied alone because they are too sheer and blotchy. Also, this shadow doesn't have good staying power at all. They are not sweat proof or water proof and they wipe off very easily. If you wanted to add omph to a smoky eye, this type of shadow will be nice to top over the lid or "v" area. Overall, I'm just not that impressed with Crystal Eyez.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Rose D'Oro
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/18/2012 9:23:00 AM

I'm a blush collector and picked up Rose D'Oro because it looked like nothing in my current stash. Rose D'Oro is a brown toned pink. It does have some red to it as well. This blush is warm toned and has gold shimmer veining through it. Rose D'Oro is very pigmented and I recommend using a light hand to avoid looking like a red disco ball. This is the blush I reach for when I don't want a full face of makeup but I still want to look awake. All I need to look refreshed in a rush is some tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara and rose d'oro on the cheeks.

Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor
rated 4 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/16/2012 5:17:00 PM

From coloring my hair for many years, the result of my hair is very processed and dry. On top of being overally processed, I have extremely thick hair that is coarse and long. K Pak deep penetrating reconstructor is a heavy weight thick cream conditioning treatment. I love the scent of this product. It's slightly herbal & fruity but not overpowering. For years, I have struggled to find a product that tames my dry frizzy mop. Some products offer decent results but not the best and I would have to add some type of silk serum, soothing creme ect to better tame the frizz. I have always heard that Joico K Pak was a good line and decided to splurge on this ($20). I am impressed. I have no styling cremes, serums ect in my hair and my air dried wavy hair is about about 90% frizz free just by using this product. My hair is soft and shiny as well. Also, my naturally loose waves turned out more defined and manageable. My hair is very unruly so can say that I do appreciate the results I got from this.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio Universal Looks Smoky Eyes
rated 5 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/16/2012 10:20:00 AM

What a fantastic deal! Three incredible eyeliners for only $10.99. PF has a big line of shimmer strips and Smoky Eyes is a new item in this collection. Smoky Eyes includes three creamy automatic pencil liners in Black, Charcoal and Silver. Black is very intense and nicely pigmented. I don't notice any shimmer in the black shade. Charcoal and Silver both have shimmer in them and are both pigmented as well. As for my staying power test, I put a 2" line of the three shades on my hand. I let them set for a minute and rubbed my hand. None of the shades budged. I then wiped them with with a makeup remover wipe and the Charcoal and Silver shade came off easily but the Black stayed on with some fading present. I was able to get the Black off with warm water and soap with some pressure. I tested them out on the eye and they lasted all day until I washed them off with no smudging.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Dolce Pink
rated 4 of 5
KeyWestBum 4/16/2012 10:04:00 AM

If you don't like a lot of shimmer, I wouldn't recommend this. I have dull skin so I enjoy some shimmer and glow in my makeup. Dolce Pink is a cool toned light pink with veining of pale silver metallic sparkles through it. The formula is pigmented however the shade is a bit too light for my NC40 skin. The skill for applying this is use a light hand to avoid sparkle overload. I like using Dolce Pink on my "light makeup" days for when I want a natural no fuss look. I like this blush but I'm not in love with it. Packaging is a bit tacky reminds me of the 80s with thick shiny gold everywhere. Overall, Milani blushes are smooth and pigmented with great staying power at an affordable price. I rate this blush a 4.
