Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Awapuhi Wild Ginger Hydro-Cream Whip

I have medium length straight hair and I love Sebastian Whipped Creme mousse. So I expected the same results with hydro-cream whip but not even close. My hair felt dry with no slip while blowdrying.
Conditioner -Neutrogena - triple moisture deep recovery hair mask

I'm a big fan of Kerastase but I was looking for a nice deep conditioner for less than $50 a tub and a friend recommended this. $7 at CVS, it can't hurt to try, right? I used a clarifying shampoo before putting the mask on because I had beach hair from the day before. Dunno if that makes any kind of difference or not. The mask itself felt goopy and I was really skeptical but it turned out ok. My hair really does feel moisturized and it was pretty parched before. Does it beat Kerastase? Of course not. But it's good for a drugstore product.
I was really excited when my stylist told me Kerastase was coming out with a leave-in spray conditioner so I plunked down $34 for it and was very excited to add it to my hair regimen, as my hair is a little dry from the searing heat of my T3 dryer. Turns out this isn't all that. In fact, it seems more like a spray serum with silicones (and it does appear to be half oil, half something that you have to shake). Plus the bottle is small. Not impressed. Was using the chroma protect creme stuff as a leave-in and got better results.
Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup

I'm surprised and impressed with this product! I usually wear Becca tinted moisturizer (nude) or Chanel Teint Innocence (02) and I got this in I think #3, I can't check at the moment, the GA site appears to be down, weird. Anyway, there must be silicone or something super smooth in the Face Fabric because it goes on and just melts into the skin. It feels completely different from any other GA foundation -- or any other foundation or TM -- I have ever tried.
It might not be fair of me to review this since I wear Becca TM every day and it's light. I was looking for a foundation a teensy bit heavier, I had no idea the LM Silk was so heavy! If you're looking for super duper masque-like coverage, this is it. Way too much for me. I am MAC NC 30 and for some reason they put Beige Ivory on me. I think Bamboo Beige would've been better.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

Well I hope I don't lose my MUA membership card but I really dislike this product. I bought it last night at Ulta because I was out of MAC paint, which I have used as a base for years and because Ulta is much closer to me than the mall I'd have to go to get MAC paint. I had a terrible time putting this on, it got everywhere, all over my eyelashes and it finished all streaky on my eyelids. WTH? I soldiered on and put on eyeshadow over it, and of course it didn't grab the shadow evenly and I look like a circus clown. Now, 2 hours later I am at work and my eyes are burning and stinging. Oh and did I mention my mascara didn't cover what I got on my lashes so I have brown and tan eyelashes? Purty. I am taking this back to Ulta. Gross.
So I ordered this on a whim when getting my usual Neova Day Therapy and night cream. I love Neova products (duh, why don't I stick with them instead of trying everything under the sun then going back to Neova to clear up my irritated face) and this intrigued me. It feels like a serum but sinks in after a few minutes and I'm finding it works well as a primer. I have combination skin that's a tad dry in the winter btw. There's something else I'd like to comment on....I had moles removed recently and had a terrible reaction to something, I'm still not sure what but the skin around it bubbled and it took forever to heal -- until I re-read the Neova Squalane label and it said good for use in wound healing. Why not, I had tried everything else so I started putting it all over the rash and mole removal sites. It cleared everything up remarkably fast, I have no idea how or why. Interesting product. If anyone reads this review and would like to tell me what it's all about, please do. I don't know if this will work for me in the summer since it's so humid here but for now I use it under my moisturizer and it makes a great primer.
Crème -Giorgio Armani - SPF20 Shaping Designer Foundation

I got a sample of this and hydra glow when I ordered a fragrance direct from GA. I used this one day and hydra glow the next, so I'm not sure which foundation is to blame, but my skin -- which had previously been clear for some time now thanks to accutane -- broke out completely. God that was traumatic. Love the foundation though, it's a fluffy cream and goes on easily, unlike hydra glow. Not as pigmented as hydra glow but did not leave me shiny at the end of the day, which makes me think it might have been the hydra glow that broke me out and not this.
I got a sample of this foundation when I ordered a fragrance directly from GA. I have never used such a highly pigmented foundation, wow! The color was wrong and I suspect application would be a bit easier with primer and/or a brush or sponge. I used 1 pump and applied with fingers and looked like I was wearing a mask. However..... I have had clear skin for awhile now thanks to accutane but following use of hydra glow, I actually broke out. Disappointing because I really love GA LSF and wanted to like this.
I saw this by chance in Target and being a cafe regular and reading about it constantly, I decided to try it. I usually use Almay because my eyes are still sensitive from Accutane. Anyway, the Lash Blast was ok but honestly nothing special. It took 3 coats to get really thick lashes.
I love love this stuff and always go back to it. The texture is lightweight but it's really good moisture and got me through my time on accutane. I'm reviewing today to include an email from Procyte about whether it can be used with Retin A. YES. Very exciting. Kelly, The only product that you would not want to use with the night therapy ( a product that contains our copper peptide complex) would be a product that contains l-ascorbic acid (vitamin C). A Retina A product would be fine to use with the night therapy.

I tried this on at Ulta last night after smelling it in a magazine. The powdery-ness of this fragrance was overpowering. I am so not qualified to do fragrance reviews and identify notes LOL but this smelled like a cheap powder fragrance to me.
Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Spray

I have fine but thick shoulder length hair and I didn't see one iota of difference when I used this product. Ditto for the next day, I tried again because I couldn't believe it. No volume, no hold, no pouf at all. Disappointing. Back to Tigi Sexed Up Tonic for now.
Concealers -Exuviance - coverblend multifunction concealer
KellyNC 3/15/2007 9:27:00 AM
I usually use KA SSE as concealer but bought this after another MUAer rec'd it and also I saw it in Lucky. It's much thinner consistency than SSE -- which isn't unusual, SSE is kinda gloopy -- anyway, it's brilliant! I'm NC30 and had to mix the light and the beige to find a good match but so worth it. Really seems to cover undereye circles and blends well. It's Spring now, so we'll see what happens when it gets to be 1000 degrees with 2000 percent humidity here, I hope it doesn't melt.
I did not think it was possible for a product to break me out after 7 months on accutane, especially when I can use Aquaphor slime for a moisturizer but this one succeeded in giving me 3 lovely zits. It's the only thing that changed in my routine over the past week. Not feeling the love for the flash balm.
