Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 11:08:00 PM

The packaging is so cute, very similar to Nars products. The color itself was a little light for me and it was very drying under my eyes. It sunk into my fine lines and was very sheer coverage. On the part of my skin (I have combination skin) that is nearly flawless, this product is great as just a light layer. However the majority of my face is not like that, and this product just didn't cover enough for me.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
rated 5 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 11:03:00 PM

Vaseline is the ultimate product. It can be used to remove makeup, it is so affordable, comes in different scents and the most recent release of their lip therapy is AMAZING. granted, after a while, with a long wear time of the lip therapy on my lips, it makes my lips smell a little off because the dead skin layers on my lips become really soft- but i just remove the layers with a scrub afterwards and my lips are so smooth. My lips crack and dry like CRAZY-- in any weather. the lip therapy is hands down better than anything ive used-- EOS, Soft Lips, Burts Bee's etc. my only problem with Vaseline in general is the sanitary problem. Because I am constantly digging my hands in the tub, some dirt or bacteria is evidently going to stay inside. But I love vaseline. It works for everything. No store-brand dupe is even comparable to Vaseline.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 4 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:58:00 PM

It absolutely gets very thick and goopy as time goes on. The drying time is so very quick though and it is very shiny. But dont think that your nails will be rock solid within minutes- yes theyll technically be 'dry' but this just means that theyre going to be resistant to instant smudging. with a finger press to the nail, it will damage your nail polish. it dries so quickly though that i have to repurchase. and after a while, the product does become hard to reach with the brush. I have to tilt the bottle as much as i can. Also, the brush is a little stiff for me. sometimes is scraps my colored nailpolish if its too wet, and ruins the manicure before application. but i love my Seche Vite simply because its so shiny and in the beginning uses, it makes my nails look professionally done.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
rated 3 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:54:00 PM

I think it's a good scrub to get the makeup off. it dries out the skin a bit and can be abrasive at times, especially if you have open wounds on your face. it didn't do much with blackheads or acne for me, but it has a pleasant smell and is generally a good scrub. I feel very clean afterwards- just a little dry.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 3 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:52:00 PM

They work so-so for me. occasionally it works, other times it does absolutely nothing. its too expensive for a sticky piece of paper for me to only react to it certain times. the size of the strips are also wasteful. the packaging is adorable and it does work sometimes, but not enough for me to repurchase or swear by it (or even remotely like it).

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 2 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:48:00 PM

I stopped using Proactive for a while to try this product. Since it was so expensive I felt that I needed to use it all. I broke out considerably when using this. I feel that its only good for people without acne prone skin and that have normally clear and near-perfect skin. I regret buying this and I'm glad i'm back to proactive.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 5 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:46:00 PM

I have packs of these lying around everywhere. my mother is obsessed with them, but the CVS copy works just as well. Lets face it, it works and really well-- regardless of how gross it is. the results come up front and you can clearly see that your face is matte afterwards. my only problem is the tape that is used to pick up the sheets. either it wears out, rips off, takes out too many sheets or doesn't pick them up at all. The sheets themselves could also be a tad bigger, but its a perfect pocket sized item that will beat any powder.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 4 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:42:00 PM

I started on this product exactly 1 year ago. I had moderate acne and it would come in all different forms, normally on all portions of my nose, my forehead and occasionally on the cheeks (right beside my nose). Essentially, I was T-zone prone. I started with proactive because my Biore wasn't really working as well anymore. Naturally as a teenager, i was lazy and didn't use the other 2 steps after a while. When my skin started to clear (I only had the occasional breakout as my skin got used to the product) I began to think that it was just a coming-of-age process. I stopped using the cleanser (and the whole system since i stopped using the toner and moisturizer long ago) and realized that my skin was acting up again. I have become heavily reliant on the cleanser which kind of stinks because it is expensive to purchase just the cleanser ($30). while it lasts a long time, I wish that it was less expensive. my skin has started to get used to proactive again so as i get older, it has less and less of an effect. unfortunately i havent found a product that works better, so I unfortunately will have to repurchase.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
rated 5 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:32:00 PM

I am on my 3rd tube of this mascara, it really is just so reliable for me. I don't care for the formula initially because it is too wet, but as it dries, the application is much easier. it definitely holds my curl because it is waterproof (my lashes aim straight down). I don't know the difference between the Very Black color, the black lace etc. they all look the same and work the same to me. The only problem is that as it gets older, it flakes off into my contacts and essentially ruins my contacts. it is also a little hard to remove. but all-in-all I have not found a volumizing mascara that works this well.

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
rated 4 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:23:00 PM

I used the darkest color (Medium to Olive 60) initially for my summer use. it dries very quickly so I had to apply it very quickly. when you don't use it for a while, the oil separates from the product and it can be a little wasteful. the pump is fabulous, and as for the color- it dries very matte on your face and I believe that it is very natural looking. the 60 color suited my dark complexion in the summer, as it was warm-based. but when i tried to purchase the 50 color for my winter shade, it was VERY gray-pink based and did not suit me well at all. I absolutely love the 60 during the summer and it gives medium to heavy coverage and is very buildable. However it is a tricky product to work with. I think that with enough time and patience, people will learn to love it-as long as it suits their skin color. My only complaint is that I run out so fast! it is not very spreadable, so I end up using a lot of product (1 and a half pumps) per use. I just wish this was bigger and that the 60 was available at every store!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 2 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:17:00 PM

I fell into the trap of buying this product and pretending that it was great just because everyone else did. all of the Youtube gurus raved about it so I had to try it. this eyeliner is definitely waterproof in the first couple of uses, but i believe that it loses this quality as it ages and dries up. In comparison to numerous other cream liners like this, it is not even black- its more of a dark brown, as evident when you rub at the liner a little. it smudges easily and creates unflattering running makeup raccoon-eyes. i bought this product twice, it is too expensive for a bad product. and the price just seems to rise.

Blush -Clinique - Blushwear Cream Stick - Rosy Blush
rated 4 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:12:00 PM

I got the sample size in a limited edition makeup set, and I really did like it. The color suited my skin tone very nicely and I lovely the consistency. The way i apply it is, I dot three dots on my cheek and use a brush to blend in the shape that I would like. it is very hard to apply with your fingers but with a brush, it should be no problem. it is decently pigmented and has the staying power of just about every other blush i've tried- if you touch your face constantly, it will wear off. it is not a stain. it has a similar consistency to a Nars Multiple (i believe these to be the 'original' multiples...) but it is less oily and does not fade as fast.

Bronzers -Clinique - True Bronze pressed powder bronzer - Sunkissed
rated 4 of 5
Kelllyjayne 1/25/2013 10:06:00 PM

I had this in a limited edition palette years ago and have just repurchased. I am southern chinese (Canton) so I have yellow-tan skin (rather dark for an asian). I find this to be very well pigmented. No, you cannot apply this product with your fingers, but it comes with a little brush (I used a different one that i already own, but it is handy if you dont have anything with you). I would definitely recommend this product, the only reason i gave it 4 stars was because I have never used a different bronzer, so i have nothing to compare it to. the sparkles are not visible unless in sunlight and it is very minimally orange.
