First of all, this MSF is absolutely gorgeous! It's a dusty pink color with gold veins, and the packaging is just lovely. I'm NW20, and I love the color lightly dusted on my cheeks. It's not very sparkly, but has a light sheen. The pink color is not overwhelming, and it's a great blush! It's easily buildable and I think it's a color that would really work on anybody!
Concealers -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Cream Concealer in soft yellow
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 4:16:00 PM
After reading all the reviews, I was expecting a lot from this concealer. However, I was fairly disappointed. I didn't see a large different in my dark circles. I much prefer MAC concealer to do the trick. I didn't think the packaging was too great. I like the click dispenser (as opposed to a twist dispenser) but I don't like the paintbrush part. I just use my own concealer brush once the liquid is dispensed.
Loose Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Matte Finishing Veil
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 4:13:00 PM
This mineral veil is perfect for setting foundation, and I think it's much better than the pressed powder I used to use. My foundation and concealer looks fabulous after applying this. The packaging sucks. The brush is absolutely terrible. So every time I use it I just remove the brush, and tap a little onto my counter to swirl my big powder brush into.
I love and am obsessed with this bronzer! I think it's really the perfect color for an awesome tan look. I am NW20 (aka extremely pale) and I apply this for a beautiful tan girl. It's not overly shimmery, and it's a gorgeous brown color. I also love the packaging. It's the regular Mac black packaging with some golden writing on the front. It's classy and it also has a mirror inside the compact. It 's a little pricy, but I will continue to buy it again and again!
Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips in Miami Strip / Healthy Glow Bronzer
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 4:06:00 PM
The packaging is ugly and bulky, like all of Physician Formual products. It's clear and feels clunky. For $11.99, I would prefer at least a little effort on the packaging! However the powder inside is gorgeous, it looks like the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks. It starts with a light shimmery pink and moves on to a dark brown. I sometimes use the two darkest colors on my cheekbones over a MAC bronzer. I use all of the colors as eyeshadows sometimes, they're really pretty! I don't use this as a bronzer though, it's just too shimmery! Plus, I prefer a darker more golden bronzer as opposed to a pinker look.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Roller Color in Roller Rink Pink
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 4:01:00 PM
I wish this eyeshadow hadn't been discontinued! If you ever see it, definitely pick it up! I love the color, it's pigmented and glittery and just fabulous! The roller ball makes it so easy to apply, and it stays put all night! It's dirt cheap, and I really wish it was still around! I love it and I love the color!
Eye Shadow -Clinique - High Impact Eyeshadow Quad - Spicy
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 3:57:00 PM
Eh- I don't think the colors looked great on me. I'm an NW20, and they just looked "off" against my skin color. They weren't deeply pigmented and in my opinion didn't blend well with one another. Which was strange, since they were made to go together! It comes in a pretty mirrored compact, but one of the eyeshadows fell out! I really don't feel that the colors were worth $17.50 for the poor pigmentation and badly made case. Perhaps mine was just ruined in transit, but I was not pleased at all with the low-quality packaging.
The color isn't a pure black, I think it is a little bit on the brown side. I like using it to "wing out" the sides of my eyeliner. However, my hand isn't steady enough to use it purely as an eyeliner! The bottle, like all Urban Decay products, is extremely cute. I also like how thin that the brush is, a very important part of a liquid liner is the thinness brush.
I own this product in Backstage Basics (varieties of black and silver) and in Designer Browns (a pinkish set of browns). I really love these eyeshadows! They're fun to play around with, and I am pleased with the pigments. I think they look very flattering on. Like the other reviewers have said, the strips break fairly easily. But they look gorgeous! You get 6 colors in a graduated pattern and a double sided brush. I tossed the brushes, since I prefer bigger, high-quality ones.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - expertwear eyeshadow in night sky
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 3:47:00 PM
In all, this eyeshadow is pretty good. It's a black color with tons of silver glitter specks. But be aware that this stuff smudges like crazy. Definitely use an eyeshadow primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion, it helps. Otherwise your entire eye will be covered in this stuff. This product is ultra-shimmery, and I periodically like applying it on top of my eyeliner for a little glitter. The packaging looks like normal Maybelline stuff, very cheap and drug-store like. But for the price it really can't be beat!
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 3:43:00 PM
I absolutely love this product! Put it on, your eyeshadow will look perfect all day! I created a gorgeous look for a frat party, and went to bed with my makeup on. When I woke up, my makeup still looked amazing! It wasn't smudged from sleeping or anything, the ultimate test! WOW! The bottle is adorable (it looks very genie like and is light purple and silver!) but I think it's not that user-friendly. I think it's going to be hard to get everything out of the bottle when its low! But it looks cute anyway!
Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge Eyeshadow - Black Velvet
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 3:40:00 PM
I use this eyeshadow as an eyeliner with an angled brush and some water. Without water, the color really isn't that dark. To get a dark look I have to get A LOT of color on the brush first. However, I love how it doesn't smudge all over my face and I like the matte look. There's no glitter in it so you don't have to worry about looking like a disco ball It comes in a pretty mirrored square compact, and the bottom is see-through so you can see the color without opening up the palette. It also comes with a double-sided brush, but I found it useless and tossed it. I prefer big, high-quality brushes.
Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Liquid Shadow in Pillow Talk
Kaylaklvc 12/26/2007 3:34:00 PM
This product is exactly like Chanel's liquid eyeshadows- but less than half the price! You have to make sure to shake the eyeshadow really well though to get the best color possible. I love using this eyeshadow as a base and adding some gold powder on top for a sparkly, fabulous look! It's superb for going out, it makes your powder eyeshadow that you put on top look much more prominent. The eyeshadow feels great the moment you put it on, and the application is super easy! You can simply put it on with the wand (it's like a lipgloss wand) or you can use a brush. But really, the wand is all you need! It feels cool on the eyelids and not sticky at all. I also have these eyeshadows in "Wanting" and "Crystal." I highly recommend these! For $12, these can't be beat! An incredibly cheaper alternative to Chanel!
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Facial Cleanser
Kaylaklvc 8/19/2007 4:57:00 PM
I love this product! I need a gentle cleanser, since I use an Acne medication (Tazorac). This cleanser is not overly drying at all, it's just perfect! Your skin feels very smooth after using it. I definitely recommend it!
I love this mascara! I used to use Naturally Glossy when I wanted to look casual, and High Definition when I wanted to look dramatic. This is the PERFECT in-between mascara! It makes big, babydoll lashes that look wonderful! I have very long lashes, and this makes them look even better! You don't need to curl them, you just put on this mascara!
