Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - Plaza Plumberry 139

Because I am old as the hills, I can say this with a ton of veracity - this nail polish reminds me SO much of Chanel Rouge Noir. Way back in the day, I wore and loved Rouge Noir. Then I got married, had kids and had to spend my money on other things. I had almost forgotten about Rouge Noir. One day, while cruising the internet, I was on the website Nouveau Cheap, and read a review of this nail polish. I knew I had to try it, I like dark colors for winter. So, for $0.60 (60 cents!!) I picked up a bottle of this on the way home from work. I applied it, and fell in love, stirring up happy memories of my younger days. That was a week ago. Today, I touched up the polish for the first time. It looks fabulous, and will be nice for the holidays. Chanel Rouge Noir DID NOT last as long as this polish has! I love it, I would definitely repurchase. Lasting power is great, I do a base coat by CG, a top coat of Seche Vite, and two thick coats of polish to get enough opacity. Highly recommend!!

I adore this fragrance! It's simple, sweet, yummy, heaven. It's a fragrance to put on when I don't know what to wear, and I want to wear something easy. As mentioned in other reviews, the roller top on the bottle is a pain in the tushy. I removed the roller ball top (it just pops off) and apply the oil with my finger. The fragrance is very long lasting, in fact I can sometimes get a whiff of it the following morning after I put it on (that's 24+ hours!). Vanilla, teensy bit of coconut, and something earthy and yummy. Layers well with other fragrances, will definitely repurchase!

Add me to the list of people that LOVE this foundation! I got Laurel Nude for my NW20 skin. I have used MAC mineral foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, Revlon ColorStay, Alima Pure and by far this is my favorite. I apply the foundation dry with my kabuki brush, and can get amazing coverage that way without looking too over the top (essential for my conservative workplace). I am sold on this!! Changing my review to a 3. After wearing this for a while, I notice that it settles into my lines, and I don't like that! Will keep for weekend wear when I want a lighter foundation, or even just powder. But I am going back to my Alima foundation for the work week...

I have been anxiously awaiting this fragrance because it contains some of my most favorite notes….carnation, mint, rose and amber. I also am intrigued by Jacques Polges, one of the perfumers that created this scent. This fragrance is not aimed at my demographic, but for me, it’s something completely wearable (I am, as the French so kindly say, a woman of a certain age). This first blast is very peppery, and smells like a kinder, gentler version (but not much kinder or gentler) of Montale Red Aoud. I love it. It’s LOUD. But it starts to quiet down fairly quickly. As time passes, the mint and carnation notes become more prominent, and actually work together fairly well. Then the basenotes come through, I get floral (rose) and amber. And the basenotes last and last. I really like this perfume, but it is different. It’s not for smelling like a nice, pretty girl. It’s….interesting. And I think it takes a certain aplomb to pull this one off. Test before you buy, definitely not for everyone Notes: mint, carnation, rose, caladium leaves, amber, vetiver I wouldn't buy again, but only because I have been hoarding perfume forever, and should never buy anymore perfume again as long as I live....maybe that will be next year's resolution. :-) EDIT: I am bumping this up to 5 lippies. It has really grown on me. Even my 13 year old daughter will tell me that I smell good when I wear this. And believe me, teenagers can be a tough crowd!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this color! Usually, I keep things fairly toned down, but thought I would step out on the wild side with this one. And I did, but the reason I love it is it didn't take me toooo far over to the wild side. It's a beautiful purpley blue, not pastel, understated, and just gorgeous. I am so glad I gave this one a try. Highly reccommend! Especially for the conservative types like me. :-)

Shampoo -ENJOY - Sulfate-Free Hydrating Shampoo

After completely thrashing my hair with a home done highlight job (Humongous mistake that will never be repeated. I blame my silver-tongued-devil of a husband, but that's another story...) I needed a shampoo and conditioner that would help my hair recover. I was pointed to the Enjoy line by a professional hairstylist. I love it! I have been using it for about 4 weeks, and the improvement is dramatic. My hair is silky and shiny, and looks closer to healthy again. Yes, it's expensive, BUT, I use just a little tiny bit, which means the bottle will last me forever. I LOVE this shampoo, and will definitely repurchase in conjunction with the conditioner!

This is an absolutely gorgeous color! It's a pinkish, berryish creme. I got it for free at Sally's after I bought a bottle of Seche Vite top coat. It's the perfect pink that's dark, not too loud, just perfect! I would buy this again in a heartbeat!

I really like this! I was suprised, because it didn't seem like the kindof thing I would go for. I received a sample with my order for Nag Champa. I put it on after my shower (so I was scent free) to try it out. I found the buttery smell a little off putting at first. But as the fragrance develops, it is lovely. Soft, warm, comforting. Excellent sillage, and lasting power. I mixed in a little Amber the second time I wore it, and the results are EXCELLENT! And yes, I would repurchase. As a matter of fact, I did. I ordered the 1/3 oz. roll on. I think it will be perfect for winter time. I am looking forward to receiving it, as well as a few more samples. Thank you MUA for helping me find this e-tailer!

I have the Angel dupe and the Opium dupe. I like them both. Both are definitely “lighter versions” of the original fragrances (I have the originals as well). But the good thing about that is I can wear them to work without offending anyone. I would highly recommend these dupes. They are long lasting, smell great, and are very affordable. I purchased both on a BOGO sale, so for around $14 (including tax) I got 2!

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Narciso Rodriguez for her EDP

I absolutely adore this fragrance. As one other insightful reviewer said, this can be worn anytime, anywhere. I am a fiend for Egyptian Musk, I love Egyptian Goddess, and have Egyptian musks from Body Time, Fragrant Body Oilz (the ebay seller everyone raves about) and assorted other sources. I was so happy to find a perfume that was based on Egyptian Musk. But anyway, on to my review of this product. It’s subtle, it’s hecka (little kids might be reading this) sexy, it’s mature, it just seems like the perfect perfume. For me, lasting power is excellent. I spritz a few sprays in the morning, and can still faintly smell them in the afternoon. The perfume is expensive, but I can find numerous (infinite, really) ways to rationalize the expense. I am not sure this is for everyone, actually, I am sure this is not for everyone. However, if you like Egyptian musk, it is definitely worth a trial size from Sephora!

Eye Shadow -Alima - Satin Matte - Juniper
KayBella 9/2/2009 1:18:00 PM
Makes my green eyes greener! I get lots of compliments when I wear this shadow. People don't compliment my ES, they tell me I have pretty eyes. It is a greyish green on my skin, with just a hint of brown. Looks very different on than it does in the jar. I find it to be a great matte, neutral, work appropriate eyeshadow.

Powder -Alima - Satin Matte Mineral Foundation
KayBella 9/2/2009 12:55:00 PM
My everyday foundation. It's great, it blends well, lasts a long time, looks really natural, doesn't dry my skin. I will definitely repurchase. Plus (and I don't know if this happened to other people, but I am curious) when I tried BE MMU, it made me look really OLD! I mean, I am really old, but I don't want to look it. Somehow, BE settled into my lines and crevices, and made me look about 60 on a bad day. Alima does not do that, it just makes my skin look good. Healthy. I am sticking with Alima.

Moisturizers -Equate - beauty lotion
KayBella 9/2/2009 12:40:00 PM
It’s about time I wrote a review on this lotion since I am on my 4th bottle. LOVE. Love it so much that I don’t even think about it anymore. I have been using it for over 3 years as my everyday lotion underneath my MMU. It goes on well, keeps my skin moisturized and protected from the sun, is dirt cheap, and easy to find. I would recommend it to anyone. I use the Sensitive Skin kind, not necessarily because I have sensitive skin, I just like the fragrance free aspect of the lotion. Other daytime lotions I have tried in the past (always with SPF) are Oil of Olay, Estee Lauder, Aveeno, Clinique, Garnier Fructis…and that’s all I can think of right now. This lotion beats the pants off all of them. I will keep using it as long as they make it!

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Kirkland Signature Hydrating Shampoo
KayBella 6/29/2009 2:33:00 PM
I love this shampoo! I started using it because my son used it, and I noticed that his hair was sooo shiny and smelled great! Based on that observation, I purchased the big 2 bottles at Costco for $6.99 plus tax. I have medium length, high-lighted hair, and it works just fine. I used to use Biolage, but I have also used Redken, Aveda and ABBA. I don’t think I will be paying big bucks for those shampoos anymore, this one does a great job! When I was being exceptionally budget minded, I tried VO5 and Suave, but neither of those did a very good job on my hair. It seemed like my hair dried out very quickly and the ends split. So, I am sticking with the Costco shampoo. Good for my hair, good for my budget. Happy ending all the way around! :-)
