Hair -Kerastase - Ciment Anti-Usure
Katty 1/5/2012 7:32:00 AM
I have the 200ml (6.8 fl. oz.) bottle of this product. On the bottle, it is named as a Reinforcing and resurfacing treatment for Damaged lengths and ends. I use this in conjunction with the Kerastase Resistance Bain de Force Shampoo. It is intended for Erosion Level 1-2; here is a link to the Kerastase website to identify which erosion level your hair is classified as http://www.kerastase.com/sites/_en/_ca/minisites/force/diagnostic.aspx I have fine, blond highlighted, shoulder-length hair. I use this leave-in product after shampooing my hair. I apply a loonie-sized amount to the length of my hair from the ears down, massage it in (focusing on the ends) and leave it for 1-2 minutes. When I rinse it out, my hair is detangled (I can run my fingers through my hair without getting stuck in tangles). As I stated in my review of the complimenting shampoo, this is one of my top two favourite, most effective Kerastase products. Prior to using these products, I doubted their efficacy to make THAT much of a difference, but they truly do. I would recommend this product to accompany the shampoo, and for those people who heat style, colour or highlight their hair.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain de Force
Katty 1/5/2012 7:21:00 AM
I have the 250ml (8.5 fl.oz) bottle of this product. It is intended for weakened and damaged hair (Erosion Level 1-2). Here is a link to the Kerastase website to identify your level of hair erosion: http://www.kerastase.com/sites/_en/_ca/minisites/force/diagnostic.aspx This shampoo and conditioner (which I will review separately) are my favourite Kerastase products, out of the six I have. Before I began using this a week ago, I did not think a shampoo could make a noticable difference in the appearance and condition of my hair. I have fine, blond, shoulder-length hair and I thought this would be too heavy for my hair type. It definitely is not. I can even go an extra day without shampooing when I use this product; my fine hair does not look greasy the next day after washing. I do shampoo, condition and heat style my hair everyday even though I should not. This shampoo is creamy but light at the same time. It is truly a luxury each time I use it. I wet my hair until it is well saturated, dispense a loonie-sized amount (Canadians will know what I mean) and lather my hair. I let the shampoo sit in my hair for 1-2 minutes before rinsing out in order to infuse my hair with all of the reinforcing and resurfacing benefits. I condition my hair with the complimenting treatment (conditioner). My hair is easier to comb out after I have used this shampoo, thus preventing more breakage. After I blow dry my hair (using other Kerastase products which I will also review - Ciment Thermique), it feels so silky and looks incredibly shiny, but not weighed down. I would highly recommend this shampoo to anyone who heat styles, colours or highlights their hair.

Treatments -Kerastase - Fibre Architecte
Katty 1/4/2012 8:39:00 PM
This product contains 30ml (1.01 fl.oz.) and it is dispensed through a pump; it is a dual serum and the product comes up from two tubes. This is a leave-in treatment designed for very damaged lengths and split ends. I have shoulder-length, fine, blond highlighted hair. I chose to use this product right after I had my hair highlighted yesterday, as per my stylist's suggestion. She says that it works well in conjunction with Ciment Thermique (I will post a separate review for that). I ran out of my pomade so I decided to use this as the last step in my hair routine, just before hairspray. I use it to add shine and seal my ends. I accidently dispersed a full pump today and used it all, however, my hair was not at all greasy. I normally use mid-end hair products but I can now appreciate the difference of a high-end luxury product. This is a true test to the product's quality since I have fine hair; any excess product looks greasy in my hair. I am very happy with this product; I expect it to last me a couple of months with daily use.

Polishes -China Glaze - Shocking Pink
Katty 8/5/2009 6:14:00 PM
I just bought this colour this afternoon and I had to put it on as soon as I got home. It is such a bright neon colour - I love it. I tried to photograph it so I could post a picture on the Nail Board but it is impossible to capture the neon pink colour. I purchased this at Sally's for $3.99 plus taxes; it came to $4.51 Canadian. I have several other China Glaze polishes but I am most impressed with this one!!!!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
Katty 7/27/2009 7:04:00 PM
I wear this foundation in 20 (one of the lightest shades) and I have oily/combination skin. I have some redness and acne scars that I like to cover. I hate the feel of foundation and based on the raves on MUA, I purchased this with my Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Points (almost free!!). I believe it was about $42.00 plus taxes for 50ml. I purchased this bottle in November and I am now halfway through it. I love the way is goes on; it is a very unique consistency. Many on MUA describe it as gel-like and I agree. It is so light on my skin and I can't feel or see that I am wearing foundation. I would consider this foundation to provide light to medium coverage. An excellent product that I will continue to purchase and I highly recommend it!

Mascara -Annabelle - volumelash.com
Katty 12/22/2008 9:31:00 AM
This mascara retails in Ontario, Canada for about $8.00 (at Shoppers Drug Mart but it may be a little cheaper at Wal-Mart). I have the regular version but I do not think it is yet available in waterproof. There is a regular brush on one half of the wand and a comb on the other half. I use the brush first and then use the comb to help define my lashes a bit more. I have short, light lashes and I get a lot of volume with this product but I find it clumps since the wand picks up a lot of product. I often find myself having to clean the wand and then put it back into the tube. I like the comb but the one on mine sort of detached itself from the actual wand and it doesn't seem to go back in. This is a decent mascara that I would purchase if on sale.

Treatments -ABBA - Molasses Purifying Treatment
Katty 10/14/2008 3:36:00 PM
I use this product once or twice a week to remove product buildup since I wash and style my hair everyday. It is a somewhat runny, molasses (duh!) consistency. I feel it works very well and does not strip my fine, highlighted hair. It costs about $15 Canadian for a tall bottle which is good since I do not use it everyday. Will repurchase!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro Jel for Blemish-Prone Skin (Fragrance Free version)
Katty 10/14/2008 3:33:00 PM
I usually purchase a huge pump bottle of this product at Costco and it lasts a long time. I only use it in the morning since it does not remove makeup very well. It is a gel consistency and I love the way it makes my skin look. My skin looks better the longer I massage it onto my face. Spectro Jel leaves my skin feeling soft and lightly moisturized. I love it and will continue to use!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean (orange cleanser in pump)
Katty 8/7/2008 1:59:00 PM
I bought a bottle of this cleanser at Wal-Mart for $8.57 (in Canada) for 200ml, at the beginning of July, 2008. I'm almost 3/4 of the way through this bottle at the beginning of August: some days I use it twice, others just once. The price is good. I use this product mainly at night to remove some makeup and the day's grime. Less than one pump, along with water, produces a lot of lather (which I love!) and I feel my skin is very clean. I have oily / combination skin, with some problem areas / times, but I do not recommend this product for those with dry skin (it would be too drying). I like this for the summer because it gives me that extra clean feeling. The packaging is good except when you get to the bottom of the bottle - can't get the small amount of product left (perhaps a tube would be better). I will buy this product again if the weather continues to be warm in September / October!

Shampoo -Aveda - Blue Malva Shampoo & Conditioner
Katty 8/24/2007 1:14:00 PM
I have only tried the shampoo and it is amazing!!! I use it only 1-2 times per week (so this will last me a while) to brighten up my highlights. The last time I used it, a co-worker asked if I got my hair done. I was so happy with this compliment since it really does make a difference! It lathers well and it smells really good! This is a mus-have for anyone with blond in their hair!

Foundations -Vichy - Dermablend Corrective Foundation
Katty 5/15/2007 7:31:00 PM
I got this product in the lightest shade (Opal) with my Optimum Points (free!!!). I love this one! I do not use it all over as a traditional foundation, but instead as a concealer. I have some redness and acne scars and this product does an amazing job at hiding those flaws. The cost is $26.00 for a 7 oz tube, which I consider a great price. I find the staying power great (lasts over 8 hours for me, I do use a powder on top). This will certainly last a while for me since I use it as a concealer. The shade is yellow-based but it works well with my skin tone (NW 15-20). Definitely recommend as a concealer as well as a foundation.

Masks -LUSH - Catastrophe Cosmetic
Katty 3/20/2007 9:14:00 AM
I received a sample of this face mask at the LUSH store. I love the fact that LUSH has small sample jars, however, I do not like the fact that you have to dip your fingers into the jar. This mask smells amazing and there are pieces of blueberry inside. I have oily skin so I thought this would help but it did not. After rinsing off the mask, I felt a layer of "residue", like I didn't wash it off completely. I even used my foaming cleanser but it did not help. I have had great experiences with some of the other LUSH masks but unfortunately, not this one.

Conditioner -Pureology - Volume Conditioner
Katty 6/3/2006 12:47:00 PM
I purchased this conditioner (along with the matching shampoo) after I had my hair highlighted blond last week. The 250ml bottle costed $21.95 Canadian; my issue is that this bottle contains less product than the shampoo but still costs the same. For this reason, I'm trying to use as little conditioner as possible because I don't want to run out before I run out of shampoo. This is a pretty good conditioner; it is very light for my fine, thin, shoulder-length hair. I actually use this before I shampoo so I can have as much volume as possible; my hair is still conditioned and not dry at all when I do this. Would recommend this product in conjuction with the shampoo.

Shampoo -Pureology - Volume Shampoo
Katty 6/3/2006 12:44:00 PM
I purchased this shampoo (and matching conditioner) about a week ago after I had my hair highlighted blond. My stylist gave me a sample to try before I bought and I loved it! It smells very nice and you don't need a lot but the shampoo lathers very well. I find that my fine, thin, shoulder-length hair does not look as oily the next day (I have to wash everyday). I am finding that my highlights have not faded as much as they used to; the blond still looks really blond. The 300ml shampoo costed $21.95 Canadian and I will buy again (if it's in the budget!).

Styling Products -Suave - Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse
Katty 2/11/2006 10:20:00 PM
I have fine, thin shoulder length hair that I highlight about every 2 months. I love this! It definitely volumizes and the volume lasts all day! The 150g can costs about $2.00 Canadian and I definitely recmommend this to anyone that wants volume! It tends to dry out my hair if I use it everyday to style so I try to alternate every few days. Will buy again!
