Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 50 with Helioplex
Katie411 4/2/2013 12:03:00 AM
I'm in India at the moment and I picked this up on the off chance it might work. Sunscreens usually break me out. This was made in Korea and imported here. This stuff he's been a good send. It doesn't break me out but has managed to protect my skin from burning, which means I've been able to keep using ahas and retina. The price out here is comparatively expensive but compared to what I'd pay back home it's cheap. I've bought a back up and will keep using this in the UK when I get back if I can find it. I have got oily skin and this doesn't make it any oilier. It doesn't really mattify either, but I feel my skin looks natural, with no obvious sheen or white cast.

Cleansers -Murad - Time Release Blemish Cleanser
Katie411 2/10/2013 3:58:00 AM
I'm very surprised that I like this so much. I normally have to use a foaming cleanser, but based on reviews I'd read on the web and the fact I wanted to try a salicylic cleanser I thought I'd try this. I thought it was very expensive at £21ish. However, I've used this x2 a day in Asia (where my face usually breaks out) with the Effaclar Duo and my skin has slowly slowly improved. I currently have no new break outs and the marks from older acne are fading. I've learnt by now to hold my breath a little while longer before making it HG, but I thought it was time to put up a review. I'd say I've got approx. 3-4 weeks left in the bottle which means I'll get approx 2 months use from a single purchase. Whilst this isn't great, I will re purchase if my skin continues to remain clear. I apply it to a wet face and leave it sitting on the skin from between 30 secs to 5 mins (depending on my skin and what time I've got etc) and then follow with the Duo. I use other products to remove ss/make up and use this on cleanish skin. It has a slight menthol/tingly thing going on and doesn't foam (usually two factors I'd avoid in a face wash). I'm happy with it for now. I'm in Asia for a few more months, so the real test will be to see how my skin manages on a different cleanser, once this one runs out. I'll update at some point.

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum
Katie411 12/30/2012 6:00:00 PM
I struggle to find lipsticks I like as I don't usually want anything too dominating or too much of a hassle to apply for my day to day look. This is a sort of my lips but better, only slightly darker and plummier. I'm an NC25 with quite dark lips. It goes with all my looks and is very versatile. I've worn this loads recently, and for now, my hunt for a perfect day lipstick is over. I've worn this in the evening too and I find the colour (as it wears off) to leave a very fetching stain on my lips. I really like it. Hooray!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Oilatum Natural Face Repair Cream
Katie411 11/28/2012 8:58:00 AM
I got this to try on my skin post lactic acid peel. My skin reacted very badly to this, breaking out like crazy. I think it might be the second ingredient Olea Europeae (from Olives I think) that caused it as I'm starting discover my triggers. Not the products fault that I don't agree with some of the ingredients, but at the sametime it makes it tricky for me to give a glowing review. Anyone clog.acne prone might want to be a little careful before trying this.

Treatments -Alberto Vo5 - Miracle Concentrate Elixir with Argan Oil
Katie411 11/26/2012 5:20:00 PM
Used for a while and it was ok. My hair was shiny afterwards but it wasn't anything super special. Unfortunately I only found out afterwards that it has cyclops in it, which is an ingredient that doens't suit me. I should have checked before I bought it. Won't repurchase or even finish the bottle, as it sadly doesn't suit me.

Toners -Clinique - Mild Clarifying Lotion
Katie411 11/23/2012 2:54:00 PM
Pleasantly surprised by this product and I'm now happily incorporating this bha into my daily routine. I believe it has helped a lot with clogged pores without drying my skin at all. I think the price is very high for a 'toner' but it has no alcohol or fragrance which is a big plus. I don't use cotton wool with this as it would be very wasteful, I just pat it on to my skin directly and let it dry. This means I can actually put a little more on the areas that need it. I will buy this again and I find that using the Dramatically Different Gel afterwards leaves my skin very lovely.

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Katie411 11/11/2012 7:32:00 PM
A great cleansing oil that emulsifies with water and rinses away nicely. I use Avene Cleanance Gel afterwards as I'm oily, acne proned but my skin doesn't feel greasy after using just this balm. I've started using Revlon Colorstay and this removes it really well. I was worried about the price and quantity, but I have to agree with other reviewers that it does seem to last a long time. I've used it many, many times and the jar has hardly got a dent in it. I wish was cheaper, but at the sametime I will keep using this for now, as it works and doesn't give me breakouts. It's also easier for me to get than a Japanese oil online etc. I can get this easily in the UK.

Cleansers -Lancome - GEL ÉCLAT Clarifying Cleanser Pearly Foam
Katie411 10/15/2012 5:00:00 PM
Update 20/11/12 - I'm not 100% sure but after 6 weeks of using this I was getting small red clogs on my fore head that wouldn't go away. I've switched back to my HG (Avene Cleanance Gel) and it has cleared. I will try this again after my skin has had a chance to calm, but I'm happy using the Avene and should just try to stick with that. I've changed the rating from a 5 to a 3 and probably won't re purchase this face wash again. ___________________________________________ I received this as a gift and have used it x2 a day for the last 4 weeks. I've hardly made a dent in the tube as it seems to be very concentrated and a little goes a long way. Even though it is expensive I imagine the tude will last a long time. I've started using it with a Japanese tool called a 'Love Bubble' which makes lots of lather and it seems to make it stretch even further. I doesn't clog/irritate my skin and my acne has no come back since using this so I feel very pleased with it. My oily skin feels clean and not dry at all after cleansing. It rinses away well. I love the faint rosey fragrance as well. I'm tempted to buy this again as it suits my skin, but I'm not sure about the price. I'll see how long this tube lasts and then will probably get more with a gwp or ask for it as a gift at Xmas/birthday time.

Cleansers -Shiseido - "Perfect Oil" Cleansing Oil
Katie411 10/11/2012 6:31:00 AM
What a shame. Liked the packaging, fragrance, price and accessibility of this cleansing oil, but it sadly clogged my pores. I was careful to only introduce this into an established routine and my skin slowly started getting worse. I stopped using this and went back to another oil cleanser (Hipitch) I'd been using and the clogs/irritation went away. I've got a nearly full bottle of this left, which I doubt I can use up. I won't buy this again. I also found that when i cleansed afterwards, that the lather went very quickly (if that makes sense). However, using the same cleanser after the Hipitch, this doesn't happen and the lather stays for longer when I cleanse. This made me wonder if the Shiseido Perfect Oil simply isn't 'rinsing' off very well and leaving more of a film on the skin, which caused my clogs. I'm not sure, but I can't risk using this any more.

Cleansers -Juju Aquamoist - Juju Aquamoist Foam Cleanser
Katie411 8/2/2012 4:54:00 AM
Update 11/11/12 - I've gone back to using Avene Cleanance as I wasn't sure if this was cleaning my skin well enough. I'll go back to it once some clogs have cleared and see how my skin reacts again. Update 23/08/12 - Just wanted to add that I'm still using this cleanser at least every morning and I really look forward to using it. It hasn't been harsh at all but cleans effectively. It's also great after my oil cleanser in the pm as a gentle wash to ensure my skin is left thoroughly clean and oil free. have ordered a second bottle and love it. Recently started trialing this wash. I've used it for the last three weeks and I love it. I mainly use it as my morning wash but if my skin is drier I'll use it after oil cleansing in the evening too. I ordered it from Adambeauty, so although the price is probably good when bought directly out there, it seems a little steep after buying from the website + delivery. It's still not super expensive at all though. I love the sturdy packaging with Japanese? script on it. The 'bubbles' is a really gentle but effective foam cleanser that doesn't leave my skin feeling dry at all. Will definitely re buy despite the fact I have to get it from abroad. I've also ordered the Juju serum as I wanted to try that. The bottle is only 150mls which seems quite small but it seems to last well so far, as you only need 1 pump (+a little bit) for a rich foam for the full face.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
Katie411 6/26/2012 4:58:00 PM
It's a shame as the colour match of 'medium' looks really nice on my skin and on the two occasions I wore this I got compliments. But, I'm a super shiny face lady within a couple of hours of wearing this. I tried it on bare skin with Maybelline Matte Powder over the top and it made no difference. I'd normally give a product longer than 2 tries before making a review, but I'm not going to wear this again so I thought I might as well post it. It goes on smoothly and gives a light coverage. I've got acne scarring and discolouration but I'm fed up of thick coverage that looks cakey and unnatural. I'd rather some marks show through and although you could see them, my overall face was 'evened' out so much that it looked really nice. I might try this with milk of magnesia underneath but otherwise I can't wear this. Such a shame. I'm a light-mid olive colour by the way. Number 53 in Bourjois Healthy Mix and the 'Medium' was a lovely match. It was about £7.99 in Boots for 30mls, which I thought wasn't a great deal but was ok.

Cleansers -Johnson & Johnson - clean and clear truly gentle facial wash
Katie411 6/15/2012 2:29:00 PM
Update 23/08/12 - I've stopped using this for now as I simply love the Juju Aquamoist Bubbles facewash now. I had no problems with the Clean and Clear, but I did find it a bit boring. I would go back to using it without any reservations but for now I'm very happy using the foaming aquamoist cleanser as I much prefer it. ********************************************************** I got this as a cheap cleanser to remove my grapeseed oil as I didn't want to keep double cleansing with my Avene Cleanance Gel evening because it was too drying and getting to be expensive. This face wash was really cheap (maybe £2 ish from Morrisons). I didn't expect much as I'm not a fan of Clean & Clear, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It cleans well without leaving my face tight or dry. It doesn't have a noticeable scent and the pump bottle dispenses the product well. I've now started using this as a cleanser on its own,on the days where it's colder (my skin doesn't need the Cleanance then) or on the day or so after a lactic peel treatment. It seems to be a very gentle, yet effective cleanser. I will re buy, but I haven't seen it any shops recently so hopefully it's not discontinued.

Concealers -Collection 2000 - Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
Katie411 6/15/2012 2:01:00 PM
I was really into this concealer and it was my go to for a while. Then sadly I read the ingredients list properly and realised it had cyclopentasiloxane in it which always upsets my skin. So sadly I've had to give this away and start the hunt for something else. Price and wearability wise this couldn't be beaten. Bloomin cyclops:(

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
Katie411 6/15/2012 1:54:00 PM
I got a small tester tube of this. I'm surprised but really like this. I use just a really really small amount under my eyes and then put a little of a regular concealer over the top. It really brightens my under eye area. A little goes a long way so even this teeny tube will last a while. I'm very tempted to buy it when this runs out.
