BB Cream -Aveeno - Clear Complexion BB Cream

I had been using Garnier's BB cream and thought it was pretty good even though the color match wasn't the greatest. I typically use BB Cream on weekends instead of foundation to save money. It gives me enough coverage when I'm running errands and don't need full face makeup. For reference I have combo skin and am very fair, NW20. I am totally loyal to Aveeno cleanser since I haven't had one breakout in the 5+ years I've been using it so when I saw that Aveeno had a BB Cream, I thought I'd give it a try. My initial impression was the color was much prettier and more natural then the other brand I'd tried and it felt more luxurious too. My forehead did look a tad shiny after application but a touch of loose powder took care of that. I wore it for about 7 hours the first day I had it and it looked as fresh at the end of the day as when I first applied it.

I bought this based on the great reviews but sadly it was a disaster on my hair. For reference, I have baby fine, slightly wavy hair and I have a ton of it. Even though I have a ton of hair, I have to use products to add volume or curl in order to have any body at all. My hair also needs added moisture to coax curls to form when I dry with a diffuser. I have been using another Pantene product, a mouse that adds moisture but when I couldn't find it at my local Target recently, I tried this one instead. It made my hair stick straight because it was so dry. My hair felt fried, damaged, and my scalp itched until I washed this stuff out. The next day I had to coat my hair in coconut oil prior to washing just to get some moisture back into it. I'm sorry this didn't work for me because the price was excellent.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Eufora Hydrating Shampoo

I recently discovered the Eufora line for haircare and had to write a review. This hydrating shampoo is incredible. All the shampoos in the Eufora line contain essential oils so you don't have to worry about them drying or damaging your hair. My hair is soft but bouncy, not weighted down at all. Highly recommend!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Invigorating Apricot Scrub

I used this Apricot scrub, no kidding, about 25 years ago and loved it. I stopped using it when i started getting into higher end products and was told by friends and department store makeup/skincare salespeople the Apricot scrub was too harsh. Well, I've recently put myself on a strict budget so i'm revisiting some drugstore brands I turned my nose up at years ago and I can honestly say this Apricot scrub is just as good if not better than scrubs that cost $30 a jar. After the first use all my little flakes are gone, my skin is crystal clear and I have zero clogged pores. I look like I just had a facial! My days of breaking the bank to buy high end skin care products are over.

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Creme de la Femme

This is my HG lipstick for day wear. I'm NW20 and this pinky/lilac is beautiful on me. When I want a tad more color, I line and fill in my lips with Half Red liner. I've even had makeup artists at the MAC counter compliment my lipstick and ask which one I'm wearing. I always wear gloss too and alternate Posh it Up and Nice Buzz with my Creme de la Femme lipstick.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

I'm puzzled by the bad reviews because I love this product! I'm very fair (NW20) and the Light/Medium blends right in. When I first squeezed some out of the tube I thought it would be too dark but it blended right into my skin. It gives me minor coverage which is perfect for a day when regular foundation isn't appropriate. I've been looking for a tinted moisturzer to wear when I want to make a quick run to the grocery store or maybe to the gym. I have combo skin with a very oil forehead and don't feel this product gives me any more oil than usual. I have to use blotting papers during the day regardless of what foundation I'm using. I apply the BB Cream, wait a couple of minutes, set with my Coty loose powder (or Sunscience Sunscreen powder if I'll be outdoors a lot), then a little blush and tinted lip moisturizer and I'm ready to go. My skin feels soft and smooth and I look like I'm wearing my regular makeup even though I'm not. Love this stuff!!!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Dainty

I'm a NW20 (sometimes NC20) and thought Pink Swoon was the blush for me. I was at a MAC counter selecting a new lipstick and the SA asked me why I don't wear blush. I was confused and told her I wear it every day. She grabbed Dainty and put some on me and wow, what a difference! It bought out my cheekbones and looked totally natural.....such a beautiful pinky, peachy glow. This is HG for sure.

Loose Powders -Coty - Airspun face powder

What a fun find! All my friends used this powder in the late 70s, early 80s and I haven't really seen it since. I've been spending a small fortune on powders in department stores trying to find the perfect one. I''ll use each one a few times and then will see that it's caked on me or turned orange and I'll stop using it. I saw this Coty powder in Walgreens and bought it for a walk down memory lane and can't believe how well it works. It sets my makeup perfectly and keeps me looking fresh all day. I need to touch up my forehead at noon and then I'll set for the rest of the day. I'm totally happy with it and am done with high end powders. As for the fragrance, I actually love it because it brings back memories of experimenting with makeup with my high school friends. It's a comforting scent to me.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light

This is a fantastic primer! My foundation looks awful after a couple of hours so I asked a makeup artist friend for a recommendation and she said Smashbox Photo Finish is a staple for her. I bought it and have used it every day for about a month now. My makeup lasts all day and I couldn't be happier with it. I have a very oily forehead and now my foundation lasts for 8 hours, even in humid conditions.

Toners -Nivea - Toner for Normal/Combination Skin

This toner is wonderful! It is the German Nivea, available from Smallflower. It removes the last traces of makeup after cleansing and helps to even my skin tone. It doesn't sting, doesn't dry, is just perfect.

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation

This stuff is amazing! I'd heard great things about EL Double Wear and got some but was disappointed. It would look okay for an hour or so and then if my skin produced any oil, the Double Wear would cake up and would just sit there on top of my skin in a mess. I hesitated to try this one since others were comparing it to DW but it's SO much nicer. I apply with a foundation brush and then set it with a little powder and it looks beautiful all day. If I get a little oil break through I just blot and it looks fresh again. I've tried MAC foundations before and have liked them but didn't love them until now. Longwear is their best yet, IMO.

Lip Gloss -Milani - Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Endulging

I read the other reviews and feel like we're talking about a different product. Everyone calls this a "nude". On me, it's a dark pink/mauve color that is gorgeous! I also find it has excellent lasting power and isn't at all sticky. When I first apply it I get a faint chocolate scent that quickly disappears. I think this gloss is amazing and the color is perfect for my cool toned, pale skin.

I have fine, color treated hair and the name of this product lead me to believe it would be gentle or moisturizing. It is neither! After one shampoo my hair felt like straw. Back to the store it goes!

I should wait to review this product since I've only been using it for three days but I'm so excited that I have to share it with someone! I've been whining on the skincare board that every sunscreen breaks me out. I've received tons of recommendations only to purchase, have a breakout and toss the tube into a drawer. With the warm weather approaching I decided to try one more. Sofina rocks! After three days not only am I not breaking out but my skin looks better because this product is acting as a makeup mattifier. No more shiny forehead! I'm loving Sofina and will repurchase. EDIT: Never in a million years did I think I'd ever say this but I've finally found a s/s I can use on my face DAILY! This is HUGE for me! No breakouts, no itching, no problems. Sofina acts as a great makeup primer too so my makeup looks fresh all day. I'll never be without this s/s.
