Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Deep Wrinkle Eye Cream
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 9/11/2011 8:37:00 AM

I should mention that I am not really treating "deep wrinkle" so take that into consideration with my review...At 35, I am starting to get some fine lines around my eyes and one small crease between my eyebrows. I usually just rely on a serum (I've used the Neutrogena one, Philosophy, Suki, Olay and Clarins...Philosophy is my fave) beneath a gentle moisturizer like Cerave or Cetaphil. But, I felt like I wanted to try something a little more targeted for my eye area. Overall - 4...maybe 4.5. Allergy season is hitting me hard and my eyes have been irritated from that. So...I can't tell right now if any irritation is from this product. BUT allergy puffiness is reduced, and my eye area is much smoother and brighter. Fine lines seem to be plumped up nicely. I can't comment on dark circles...not an issue for me. There is a slight fragrance, but it seems to dissipate quickly. Price - 4 - I had a coupon but it was under $20 at CVS anyway (I think $18?) It's getting harder and harder to find an eye product or serum that does anything under $20...so I would consider that a great price. Packaging - 5 - tube or pump always gets gold stars from me...the germiness of dipping into a jar all the time skeeves me out - ESPECIALLY for the eye area! So...as of right now, an month into use, I would repurchase!

Eyeliner -Almay - Intense i-liner in Raisin Quartz
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 5/24/2010 12:59:00 PM

This is recommended for green eyes, but I love the plummy "raisin" color for a smokey eye that doesn't look to harsh with my blue eyes & pale skin. It's perfect. The packaging is pretty no frills, but the product itself is great!

Styling Products -Redken - Blonde Glam Dream Whip Protective Mousse
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 5/24/2010 12:56:00 PM

Love it! Aquage is still my all time HG mousse, but this is much easier to find. I have fine, thin, naturally wavy color treated hair & this is wonderful. I can use it when I straighten my hair or scrunch in wet hair to enhance waves -- works well either way & waves aren't stiff or crunchy when I go that route. Smells good too...light slightly citrusy scent that fades quickly.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bourbon French Parfums Vanille
rated 5 of 5
KateB518 2/17/2009 9:43:00 AM

Bought this on my honeymoon in New Orleans and have bought it several times since. I get more compliments on this than any other fragrance! Vanilla - slightly foody with some almond notes, not too heavy for warm weather, some complimentary florals (maybe heliotrope?) in the mix as well.

Fragrances -Serendipity 3 - Serendipitous
rated 5 of 5
KateB518 5/28/2008 4:32:00 PM

Love it! Love the scent, love the bottle, love the name:) Sure, you can make do when you only like one out of the three - but when you smell wonderful and people ask wouldn't you love to say "Serendipitous?" The scent: On me, A light caramel note predominates. There is a little orange in the top note but it doesn't stick around. The chocolate is more like an impression of chocolate than "WOW something smells chocolatey!" It puts me in mind of walking into a room where cookies baked earlier. It smells warm, sweet but not cloying, and familiar. Lasting power is not great -- but there are many etailers that make oil/body products in a duplicate scent that are fantastic for layering. I'm not sure what the poster meant about this only being available in Paris! Serendipity 3 is in Manhattan and the perfume itself is only a few mouse clicks away if you live anywhere in the US (I get mine from luckyscent.com)

Fragrances -Ava Luxe - Milk

There really needs to be a "maybe" or "yes, if this changes..." option on the "Would you buy this again?" feature. I am currently breastfeeding & this scent is a little too perfectly milky! I don't want to smell like I've sprung a leak! I may try it again in a few years when I no longer associate the scent w/ nursing. Very nice, but not for me right now.

Fragrances -Child Perfume - Child
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 8/11/2006 10:56:00 AM

I love Child - but as other posters mentioned, I'm not sure it's different enough from straight pikake oil to warrant the high price. I did say "yes" to the repurchase, but probably only if someone was looking to buy me a gift of fragrance. I always get compliments on this one - it's a gorgeous tropical floral w/ a clean musk in the dry down. I may try mixing up a batch of egyptian musk & pikake oil & see if I get the same results:)

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Fresh Scents by Terri - Breathe
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 8/6/2006 1:15:00 PM

If you loved Perfect Veil - you'll love Breathe too. It is like a more sophisticated version of Love's Baby Soft! Sometimes it seems like straight egyptian musk on me - other times I feel like I can smell more sandalwood and it reminds me of Skin musk. I am not sure if I will repurchase (or actually purchase at all - I am finishing up a sample). or if I will repurchase Perfect Veil instead. Both are wonderful, but similar enough that I don't feel like I need both.

Fragrances -Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Snake Oil
rated 3 of 5
KateB518 7/25/2006 12:12:00 PM

I am not cool enough for this fragrance!! You know those women who can wear a kids little league shirt and a skirt made out of cutoff camoflauge pants and look totally sexy? I am not one of those women. Snake Oil was my 1st foray into the world of BPAL. It is a wonderful scent - vanilla and incense...I was hoping for a bit more woody ambery incense...this is a bit more head shoppy (not necessarily a bad thing - just not MY thing). So, 3 lippies, it's a great scent - sullen, darkly sweet and tempting....just doesn't suit me.

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Aloha Tiare
rated 5 of 5
KateB518 7/25/2006 12:07:00 PM

Ok, I guess I am in the minority here - but I love this scent. It is different from most of what I wear (My collection contains many clean scents and gourmand vanilla/amber types) but it is luscious and may become a staple for me. It is not your typical gardenia scent (most of those turn to pickles with my chemistry) but is definitely Tiare flower - tahitian gardenia, with coconut and vanilla. Tammy166 had it right on w/ her coconut cake topped with fresh flowers description. This is one of very few "florals" that I like and that like me;) I think the coconut and vanilla round it out enough that it is a definite beach scent and not just floral. A keeper and a definite purchase when I finish this decant!

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
KateB518 7/6/2006 3:02:00 PM

This has all the makings of an HG foundation/tinted mositurizer for me. The color match in Fair to Light is perfect for me (PPP, BE 1.2, MAC NC20, Px Real Petal) and I love the fact that is has a high spf and retinol! However, I am two weeks postpartum right now and my skin is going haywire. So, I can't tell if any blotchiness/breakouts are due to hormonal changes or due to this new product. Also, ordinarily I would say this amt. of coverage is perfect for me - sheer but evens out skintone. But again - skin's going crazy, so I'll have to wait a few more weeks to see if the product will work for my skin when it's not recovering from pregnancy:P Will update in a month! ***updated well, it's not an "HG." It's ok, and I'll finish up the bottle, but I think I may return to mineral makeups. After a few hours, this is very orangey on me.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Pleasures Body Splash in Peony

Lovely fresh floral! I don't know why so many reviewers thought this was discontinues - it is part of BBW's permanent collection as far as I know! if you like Maybe Baby, Pleasures & other similar fresh florals - you'll love peony.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa Be More Pacific with Monoi Oil
rated 3 of 5
KateB518 3/6/2006 3:08:00 PM

I agree w/ Katie Kins about the product name issue...seriously, people!! But beisdes that - it's an ok product. I wish there was a maybe on the buy again part - it smells nice, but BBW products have gotten ridiculously overpriced. I don't mind paying more for high quality products, but this is mediocre at best.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Pure Grace
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 3/1/2006 9:53:00 AM

This scent is pure nostalgia for me. It isn't just a clean soapy scent - it makes me think of being clean in the summertime. Pure Grace is a shower after coming back from the beach on the Cape. A little saltiness and sunscreen still linger in your nose, but you also have that fresh scrubbed, relaxed, ready for a big soft t-shirt to lay around and snooze feeling:) I can't wear it every day -I'm just not always in a "relaxed at the Cape" mood (although maybe life would be less stressful if i was!!) but I will definitely purchase this one over and over. Great non-fruity summer scent, good inoffensive work scent, also layers well with the other graces & with Johnsons Baby Lotion.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace cologne
rated 4 of 5
KateB518 3/1/2006 9:48:00 AM

Wonderful everyday scent! Of the 3 grace scents from Philosophy, Amazning Grace is my favorite. While some people say they get a lot of musk from this scent, I smell light florals and clean freshness. It is not as "soapy" as Pure Grace (although I love that one too!) Amazing Grace is like a mixture of Olay soap, Baby lotion, and a hint of China Rain. It is as if you took all the lovely smelling things a woman might use with her bath and made a cologne. The lasting power is definitely improved by layering with the other Amazing Grace products.
