Hair -Wen by Chaz Dean - Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner
Kaskine 4/27/2011 8:54:00 PM
I bought a value pack were I got 5 different Wen cleansing conditioners. Out of all of them I liked the sweet almond mint the best (just because the smell was the best). I liked the product at first but after awhile I got really tired of having to do the whole process (about 3.5 bottles in) and got a HUGE desire to just shampoo my hair the normal way again. I definitely noticed that the product made my hair no longer have fly aways like it always does and my hair was soft, but my hair would look dirty a lot faster than regular shampoo and my hair already gets oily really fast! If you follow the correct amount you are supposed to use for your hair you will be done that bottle in probably 2 weeks. In my opinion that amount they tell you to use is just ridiculous. I used 2-3 pumps for my scalp, 2 pumps for the back of my head, and 2 pumps for my ends, thats it. The amount it wanted me to use was like 40 pumps total...come on, really? After thinking about it I decided the product is really too much money for me to want to keep doing it and like I said before I was getting tired of doing it. The only reason why I think it made my hair have less fly aways is because it tells you to put a pump of it in you hair after you shower (so its like putting in a leave-in-conditioner) so obviously it would help fly aways. As of right now I would not buy the product again, I feel I can get the same results for less and have my hair feel way cleaner in the end!
Loose Powders -Urban Decay - Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder

Great for setting makeup, however dont bother using the puff. What I do is take the cover off the puff that way the three holes are showing. Then when you want to use it, just twist to open, turn it over still inside the cap and tap on the bottom to get the product to come out into the cap. Then use a brush to pick up the product in the cap and your set to go! Its kinda like they way you would use bare minerals, pour it into the lid and buff into your brush.
Great mascara. Adds lots of volume and does not clump with coats. Also does not flake. Highly recommend trying this out
Concealers -Urban Decay - 24/7 Concealer Pencil (all)

Love this concealer. It actually covers my red pimples. I only use this to cover acne scars or acne in general, I do not use this under my eyes (I use something else for that). It is definitely a full coverage and stays very well. Like all concealers make sure to set it with a powder, it will make it last longer! Packaging could be better, for some reason my one's cap doesnt fit very well anymore, likes its too small for it. So I have to make sure that I dont close it too much or I cant get it off! Not to sure what thats all about though.
I like this product, however if you want volume you will definitely want to pair it with a volumizing mascara. I use a volumizing mascara first and then this one which helps separate and really lengthen my lashes out. Yes it would be better if this mascara could really do both but if you want that certain separated length look, a mascara wand cant really separate and volumize then.
Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
Kaskine 4/16/2011 10:50:00 AM
Finally a liquid that does not make me look like a grease ball a couple hours later after applying! You have to get used to the spreadability of it but I really like its coverage. It also looks very natural on. I always get nice comments on my skin when I wear this and my skin is not that nice! I have acne and acne scars and it covers them well. I always see that people complain that its drying on their skin, my advice, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE OILY SKIN THIS FOUNDATION IS NOT FOR YOU! I think some people think they have oily skin when really they don't, the problem may be they are drying their face out with to much with products and not properly moisturizing and then their face compensates by sending more oil to their face...
I really like the colors in this palette, however I really wish they would do without all the showiness of it and just make the palette cheaper. If you think about it, you are paying for the dumb pop up and lights in it. I never open the top of it to use the mirror, so why should I have to pay for it. Also I dont use the 24/7 pencil in the kits, I'm a liquid girl. Overall though I love this kit, I really like the greens and blues in this kit. If you dont wear a lot of color this kit is not for you!
This is a very cute palette. I really like the green/gold color. I always get great comments on my eyes when I wear the shadows from this palette. I saw that some said its hard to blend the dark colors, I must say I do not agree with this. I havent had any issues with the colors or blending ability. This palette would look really good on brown and green eyes. If you havent figured it out yet, there are three main eye palettes by Too Faced each with a different color eye on the front, just means that that particular palette is designed for that color eye. That's is why in my opinion the naked one by Too Faced doesnt look good on me but looks awesome on others. Its for blue eyes and light skin, and its just too light for my skin and my eyes. Sorry for getting off topic.
I really like this palette. I bought it instead of the Naked by Urban Decay. I think the Naked is a little over hyped and this one is just as good even better (in my opinion) for brown eyes. The Naked doesnt seem to do that good of justice for brown eyes girls so I went with this one by Too Faced and I love it! Plus this one is $13 cheaper than the Naked! I highly recommend getting this palette, especially if you have brown eyes
Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
Kaskine 4/16/2011 10:28:00 AM
I love pink leopard, I really like the highlight that it adds and its very pretty. I do wear bronzer underneath it because its not dark enough by its self to really be my only bronzer (I'm a medium skin tone)
Toners -Mario Badescu - Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion
Kaskine 3/24/2011 8:09:00 PM
I bought this toner and gave it a try. About 1-2 weeks in it made my neck hive out and become extremely itchy! I think it was just too harsh for me. I returned it and got the aloe toner for combination/oily skin, much better! Maybe this toner would have worked over the summer for me but I tried it over the winter and I guess it was too drying and it irritated my neck.
Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
Kaskine 3/21/2011 11:08:00 PM
I have had this product for almost a year now and I still love it! I just leave mine in the shower and do it when I take showers. Keeping it in the shower makes it less messy and reminds me to do it, otherwise I can get lazy with it. I work at Ulta and when I talk with costumers about how often they use their clarisonic and a lot tell me they use it twice a day! When I was trained by the Clarisonic man he informed me it should only be used once a day and preferably at night, that way you can assure all your makeup is off. Also, when you go back to buy new brush heads, buy the sensitive brush not the normal. I know it can be kinda confusing, they should really rename them. The sensitive head is that one that come with the Clarisonic when you buy it and is suitable for 90% of the people that use it. The normal brush head is usually for men and is a lot more abrasive. A coworker of mine wanted to step up to the normal one because she thought her skin could handle it and she told me it was way to rough and hurt her face, she could not use it! The Clarisonic helps with my acne, so if you looking for that it can definitely help. I would warn, machines like this can sometimes cause people to break out before it gets better, so give it some time before you give up on it. NEVER use a cleanser with abrasive beads in them with the Clarisonic, that would be WAY to much exfoliation for your skin and will actually cause more damage then good. If you have a cleanser like that you can use it when you dont use the Clarisonic but please not with it!
Misc Beauty Tools -Tarte - Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler
Kaskine 3/21/2011 10:57:00 PM
This is the best eyelash curler I have found to date, and yes I tried the Shu Uemura one. All other eyelash curlers dont keep my lashes curled, eventually they go straight again. The Tarte one actually keeps them curled and I really like it! Plus this curler comes with a free sample of their awesome mascara as well!. Highly recommend you give it a try!
I bought this after reading all the great reviews on how awesome it is. I used it for a year before I found something that was way better. Shu Uemura curler was only slightly better from my previous curler which was revlon. Now I am a quarter asain and I do have very straight eyelashes. The curler would curl my lashes but they would not stay curled and I curl them before and after applying mascara! Once Tarte came to Ulta I tried their eyelash curler and WOW it is so much better than the Shu one. My lashes are very curled and they acutally stay! I would highly recommend trying the Tarte eyelash curler expecially if the Shu one didnt do much for you.
I love this brush! I use it for liquid foundation not bronzer, I cant imagine using it for bronzer it seems to dense for bronzer. It helps make the face look flawless with liquid foundation, Highly recommended, plus its cheap!
