Liquid -Ultima II - Wonderwear Longwearing [DISCONTINUED]

This is a great foundation for my oily skin. I have lots of imperfections to hide (large pores, redness, pimples, a few pitted scars), and this does a good job of covering everything up. It lasts most of the day, and has some oil control, too. I would recommend.

Loose Powders -LORAC - Loose Face Powder

I think this is a good loose powder. I would compare it to my Make Up For Ever super mat loose, which I love. It helps smooth my skin and doesn't appear too powdery or noticeable. I like the MUFE powder better, but this is a close second.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
rated 4 of 5

This is an updated review for this foundation. My first review was a little negative, as I really wasn't impressed with the product. Now that I have learned to apply it properly (with lots of practice!), I am extremely pleased with this foundation. I have oily skin with large pores, lots of red to cover, and some crater scars. This product does a great job of covering everything up without accentuating my craters, which is a problem I encounter with some other foundations. I love the pump bottle, and the color warm ivory is perfect for me. It's funny about LM products...I generally have to dislike them before I love them. I had the same experience with the secret camouflage and concealer, both of which I now love. So, if you find yourself unhappy with this foundation, continue experimenting with application techniques. That may be the answer. FYI: I find that this foundation has very little oil control properties, so it is a better bet for winter use.

Cleansers -Olay - Self-Foaming Cleansing Discs

I can only use these 1-2 times a week, as they were far too drying when I tried using them every night. On the occasions I do use them, I am pleased. They lather up quite well, remove my makeup, and rinse clean. I usually use a cloth with my cleanser when washing my face, so I appreciate having everything in one convenient pad.

These are great little liners. They sharpen well, apply easily, and don't smudge. And you can't beat $4. I love the color selection.

Brows -Lancome - Brow Expert Design Kit

I have this in Taupe, which is a nice match for my light brown brows. It comes with a powder for filling in, and a tinted pomade to help set and smooth the brows. The case has a magnifying mirror, with a short-bristled applicator, a brow comb, and a small pair of tweezers. I've been using this for a year now, everyday, and I still have more than half the product left. Would repurchase if this ever runs out.

Conditioner -Garnier - Fructis Conditioner for Fine Hair
rated 1 of 5
Karlee 12/27/2005 6:49:00 PM

This conditioner just didn't work for my fine hair. It didn't help with detangling, and my hair always felt heavy after using it, as if I had wax on it. The heavy waxy feeling would make my hair extra-difficult to style, too. It drove me crazy, so I tossed the remainder of the bottle.

Powder -Chanel - Double Perfection Compact Teint Poudre Mat Eclat [DISCONTINUED]

This is indeed a lovely makeup. Offers great coverage, goes on smoothly, makes my red, blotchy face look good, and controls my oil most of the day. I'm already a huge fan of the DP fluide, but have heard such good things about this that I just had to try. I have oily skin and a tendency to breakout from everything, and I have a suspician that this may be causing some problems for me (oh, please, God, NO! I love this too much to give it up). I'm going to continue using it to see how things go. But that's just me and my annoying skin. For everyone else, I highly recommend this fantastic product.

Loose Powders -Palladio - Very Loose Powder
rated 1 of 5
Karlee 12/11/2005 7:04:00 PM

I had received a sample of this in a swap and liked it very much. The sample I got was too dark for me, so I ordered the "translucent" figuring that it would be a safe bet for my skin. I was surprised to see that the translucent is very white - it looks like someone put baby powder in a plastic container. Unfortunately it looks exactly like baby powder on the skin, too. This was a big disappointment for me. I would return it, but I don't want to pay anymore shipping costs. I'll try to swap it away, if anyone is interested in swapping baby powder.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 5 of 5
Karlee 12/8/2005 8:46:00 PM

I'm happy. I waited a while before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I really liked it - and I do. I have large pores, and quite a few crater-type acne scars, and this primer is definitely helping those problems appear less noticeable. I've been using it everyday for almost two weeks, and I haven't seen any clogged-pore problems, nor any new breakouts. It also helps my makeup last longer. I would repurchase. UPDATE - OK, it's been several weeks of consistent use of this primer with no clogged pores or pimples. Hooray for Smashbox!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colourjuice - Grape Soda
rated 5 of 5
Karlee 11/7/2005 7:06:00 PM

I picked this up on a whim, and I'm so happy I did. The color in the tube looks quite bright, like fuschia. But on my lips it is a soft pinkish/purple. The staying power is good, it smells nice, it's not too sticky and it doesn't goop up on my lips. Will repurchase.

Like this a lot. Color is beautiful - a soft, natural looking pink, not clownish. It blends nicely into my skin and looks like my natural color.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Pears - The Original Transparent Soap
rated 5 of 5
Karlee 10/2/2005 8:55:00 PM

I love this soap. I used this as a kid/teen, then stopped using it in favor of what I thought were "better" cleansers (which were not better, just more $$). I have rediscovered this soap at the age of 35. I have oily skin which is acneprone, and this helps to keep my face clean and smooth. Removes all of my makeup, and doesn't irritate my skin. Also, one day at the gym I forgot shampoo and had to use this, and my hair looked nice! Will definitely repurchase.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Karlee 9/30/2005 7:43:00 PM

I bought this foundation because Lancome was having an adorable GWP event. Overall, I am not unhappy with it. I have oily skin with large pores and a lot of old acne scars/redness. The foundation stays on most of the day, and does cover my redness/old acne marks. It applies smoothly, and I have found it is easy to reapply throughout the day when an area rubs off. My disappointment comes from the fact that I have quite a few "pock marks" on the sides of my face, and this foundation accentuates those areas terribly. So, it covers the red nicely, but highlights the craters. For this reason I will not repurchase. Also, the color selection can be difficult, from what I hear. I was able to find a decent match (slightly too pink, though), but the SA told me that it is a difficult foundation to match on many customers.

Sunscreen -MD Formulations - total protector color 30 - tinted sunscreen
rated 5 of 5
Karlee 9/22/2005 10:26:00 PM

I have this in light. I love this s/s! It goes on easily and evenly, dries matte, isn't sticky, and doesn't interfere with my foundation. The light tint is not very noticeable on my skin (to me anyway). Every s/s I have ever tried has made me breakout, but this causes absolutely no problems. I have been using this everyday for one month. Not one clogged pore. Yay!
