Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
KariRocksOut 2/22/2011 1:53:00 AM
I just got this today and I love it! I bought mine at Wal-Mart. It was right next to the register and I've been wanting it forever. I hate chapstick with SPF because I can't stand the taste in any of them and I feel like they don't moisturize. I've been using this for a few hours now and my lips are nice and moisturized and I like the flavor/scent. I'm super picky when it comes to scents in lipgloss/chapstick so this works well for me. It's fruity, but not overpowering and once you've had it on for awhile you don't notice the smell anymore, which is what I like. I like the packaging too because you get a lot of product and it's easy to apply. I don't have the issue of it being bulky because I always carry a purse, but this little thing will be on my nightstand for nightly use. I think people who said the got a really hard or waxy product should email the company because maybe their was old and sat on the shelf too long? Mine is not soft but it glides on lips easy, is not heavy, and moisturizes just fine! For $2.69 at Wal-Mart I don't think it was a bad deal at all. Definitely cheaper than my Sugar lip balm that I keep in my purse :)

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
KariRocksOut 8/19/2010 9:36:00 PM
I don't get the bad reviews, but maybe the blush has been reformulated since I last bought it? (about 2-3 years ago) I love this blush because it last FOREVER and you don't need a ton of it to look healthy and flushed (in a way that the name of this product suggests). There is a lot of glitter in it, but it looks super pretty in pictures and not garish at all. Like I said there could have been a reformulation...I have however used this on all different skin types when doing makeup for friends and family. I have very very fair (Alabaster in Bobbi Brown) and it looks very pretty, and my Mom is pretty dark and it also looks wonderful on her. If you do decide to buy this blush I suggest buying it in person from a place with a good return policy in case you end up hating it.

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - No Smudge Mascara
KariRocksOut 8/19/2010 9:32:00 PM
Love this stuff, can't get enough! I recently switched from Lancome Definicils Waterproof, which was hard to get on in a smooth coat, and very hard to get off. I love the Bobbi Brown version because it's CLUMP FREE! It also comes off nicely with a oil based eye makeup remover. I have been using this when I freelance wedding makeup and the consensus is brides and bridesmaids love it! Stays on really well through the tears, and I plan to use it while snorkeling in Hawaii next month! **Edit** It is indeed smudge-proof but when I wore it on our snorkel cruise in Maui I did get some black smudges under my eyes. I don't know why you'd really wear this in water, but I wanted to give it a try to leave my review! I think it'd be suitable to wear to a wedding or special event where you feel you might cry, but check yourself in a mirror afterward just in case! Also I saw no flaking with this mascara, which can happen with some other waterproof/smudgeproof mascaras.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Centella Recovery Skin Salve
KariRocksOut 2/24/2010 10:19:00 AM
I was having a terrible allergic reaction to eucalyptus oil used on my neck during a massage. After using hydrocortisone for a few days it still wasn't going away, and even worse putting anything on the rash burned! I got a sample of this from the SA, and just a few days later the rash is almost gone, with no more redness. Still itches, but not nearly as bad as it did before. I expect in a few days it will be totally gone! I recommend this salve for short term use, or periods of time, but it might be too rich to use everyday.

Mascara -Rimmel - Sexy Curves
KariRocksOut 1/8/2010 1:30:00 AM
Wow! Using rapid lash, and then this, and my lashes are LONG LONG LONG! I don't have a problem with the brush because I always use a clean separate mascara wand after applying any mascara, to help separate the lashes and prevent clumps. I like this a lot because it looks like I have pretty black lashes, not like I'm wearing anything. Not sure how I feel about the curvy brush yet, but give this a try if you can find it on sale at Walgreens or CVS.

Treatments (Eye) -Promaxyl - Eyelash Renewal serum Rapidlash
KariRocksOut 1/5/2010 1:45:00 AM
I've only been using this two weeks but I've started to get little lashes on the outside corners of my eyes! My Mom said it couldn't be working so fast but she's noticed that my eyelashes are curling up instead of pointing straight out. I also wanted to post a review to say I have not experienced any adverse effects like bloodshot eyes, itching, or swelling. The first week I had a slight darkening along my lash line but it seems to have dissipated now. I am a believer and will post another update after 6 weeks! *Update* Works wonderfully! After using Rapid Lash for about 3 months my eyelashes were longer, darker, and thicker! The only downside was the price, but thankfully my pedicurist said I could get a two pack at Costco for the price of one. I have since switched to Careprost because it's cheaper (if you go in with friends it helps with shipping), but I think I actually had better results with Rapid Lash and have switched back. It has been a week since I switched from Careprost back to Rapid Lash and I have already noticed little lashes growing! Still have not noticed any adverse reactions, some darkening of the eyelid on the left eye but that's left over from the Careprost so we'll see if it fades. I say it works!

Deodorants -Lavanila - The Healthy Deodorant
KariRocksOut 12/18/2009 4:53:00 AM
LOVE THIS! I've tried just about any and all natural deodorants out there. Adidas, Tom's, Alba, Crystal, Origins (works wonders!) and Arm and Hammer baking soda (both straight up and as their stick deodorant). While the Origins worked, I had to apply anywhere from 2-4 times a day to stay fresh. With Lavanilla I only apply twice. Once in the morning after a shower, and once before working out. It works wonders! If you're going from antiperspirant to this though you might have poor results. The reason why is you need to detox from the chemical deodorant. I did this by using straight up baking soda, but it leaves sensitive skin raw, although it does work. After two weeks of this I switched to my natural deodorant and only ever stink occasionally. THIS IS NOT AN ANTIPERSPIRANT! YOU WILL SWEAT REGARDLESS, BUT NOT SMELL (if it works with your body). So please give it a try. Also sweating is good for you, it stops your body from overheating.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter
KariRocksOut 7/31/2009 3:16:00 AM
SO SOFT!!! I've used The Body Shop's BB before without such great results. It felt regular. This is totally different! I bought this on a whim maybe 6 months ago or so because it came in a whole set and it was cheaper than buying everything alone. Well the other night I decided to put some on before bed, and WOW I woke up with the softest skin! Even after my morning shower my skin was soft and supple all day! Even my Mom noticed how nice my skin looked and felt. The scent is very light and floral, so it would complement a light floral perfume. And the scent really seems to last too! The only downside I can think of is that it takes a little bit for it to soak in my skin, but I don't mind since I use it before bed anyway. Bonus: My sheets now smell like Cherry Blossoms too!

Cleansers -Ponds - Clean Sweep Cleansing and Makeup Remover Towelettes
KariRocksOut 5/8/2009 2:35:00 AM
I have been using these for years! I absolutely can't live without them! Everyone knows (or at least I hope they do) that you should never ever go to bed with your makeup on! Not only is it bad for your skin, it's bad for your pillowcase too (hello yesterdays eyeliner, blinking back at you...). I use these a few times a week when I'm just too tired to really put my hair up and give my face a full wash. It gets like 95% of my makeup off, and I wear a lot of eyeshadow. I've also got my BFF and my Mom using these almost every night since they're repeat offends of the "Must Wash Your Face Every Night" commandment!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense-Combo Oily to Oily
KariRocksOut 5/8/2009 1:09:00 AM
AWFUL! I bought this after such good reviews here, but it makes me break out! Also part of the low score is for Clinique brand itself, and it's SA's! I bought this at Macy's where I had a $25 gift card for my Bday, the rest (the other $30) I paid in cash. When I returned it they told me they could only put the money back on the gift card and that I would NOT GET MY CASH BACK, also it would be $6 LESS BECAUSE THEY WERE KEEPING MY SALES TAX! What!? This is illegal in the state of Washington and I have NEVER EVER had this happen to me before when returning something. The Clinique sales lady said it was the law, WHAT? That's a complete LIE and she could barely speak English. My Mom and I demanded to see a Manger. The SA flat out refused and went to help out other customers. After another 20 mins of not being able to get anyone else on the floor to help me I took the stupid Gift Card with $6 less than I originally paid. NOW I REFUSE TO SHOP AT MACYS! I have a $35 gift card thats COMPLETELY worthless. I refuse to ever buy Clinique ever again, and will only buy from Nordstroms or Sephora from now on. I can't believe Clinique would even tolerate this kind of behavior. All complaints to the company have been unanswered and Macy's manager still refuses to refund my sales tax. I will be reporting them to Washington State somehow someway because when you return something (unopened and unused BTW I had been using samples to see if it worked with my skin, the original pot was still sealed!) it's illegal not to give you back your full purchase price. Stay away from Macys!

Polishes -OPI - My Chihuahua Bites
KariRocksOut 3/11/2009 7:55:00 PM
Love love love this color! I had a mani done last week and picked this out, oranges being my fave color of the moment. I have very fair skin so it works well with my skin tone. I would say if you're a darker skin tone or too red then this is probably a no. I especially love the name of this polish!

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow BlackOut Waterproof
KariRocksOut 3/11/2009 7:51:00 PM
Expensive and scented! I gave this a four because it does lengthen my lashes and make them look fuller! I am an eye rubber, so I still get mascara smudged under my eyes no matter what it try...so I don't think I can give an accurate opinion on if it's "waterproof," or not. The things I hate are there are lots of less expensive mascaras out there that aren't scented (Why do my EYES need to smell like flowers??) so it can be potentially eye irritating. When I have money I do splurge for Dior Show though!

Lotions/ Creams -Kiehls - Nurturing Baby Cream for Face & Body
KariRocksOut 3/7/2009 6:55:00 AM
WOW! I had a terrible eczema outbreak and this cleared it up in about 3 days. Usually when I have an eczema outbreak it can take up to a month to go away, and it's so embarrassing having scaly red spots all over my face/neck/arms! I went to my local Kiehls counter looking for my regular girl, who wasn't there, and a lady looked up eczema in their product book and she made me a few samples of this Nurturing cream. Immediately I felt a soothing sensation over my dry, red skin. It toned down the redness right away. I decided to buy it right on the spot and I'm so glad I did! Whether you are a Mother, a Baby, or just having a skin freak out issue this works wonders! I even used it all over my face and it didn't make me break out (wouldn't recommend this all the time though) and my face and neck are now back to normal, and are super baby soft! I even used this on my dry dry heels and it made them super soft and supple. Truly a must have for Pacific Northwesterners or people in other cold climate weather almost year round.

Liquid -Classified Cosmetics - ERA face foundation
KariRocksOut 2/13/2009 11:45:00 PM
I used Era after seeing it on What Not to Wear on TLC. It is often used by Carmindy and I was so curious about an aerosol foundation! Now I don't do the spray all over your face thing, as it can get in your hair, or on your surrounding. I put it on a makeup sponge and apply it in gentle patting motions for a flawless look. My friend and her Mom even commented on how great my skin looked! The only thing I don't like it their system for finding your shade can be a little wonky. My first bottle was too yellow, so I had to exchange it for a different color. Be careful of those yellow tints!

Blush -MAC - Fun & Games - Hello Kitty [DISCONTINUED]
KariRocksOut 2/13/2009 2:50:00 AM
The best peach blush you can get out there! It goes on sooo nice and soft, with great blending abilities! The color in the pot can look horrifying, but give it a try because it's so pretty when it's on! I have very light skin so I can do either peach or pink blush, but because it's so soft and pretty I think this could work for most complexions! Another great HK product from M.A.C.!
