Mascara -LORAC - Multiplex 3D Lashes Volumizing & Thickening Mascara

I love this mascara, I actually think this is my favourite mascara. I'm oriental/asian and have medium length and medium thickness lashes, permed using the LVL system. I'm currently using this mascara as a sample bought as a set of 8 samples from Sephora. It's a great natural looking mascara. There's no clumping, it separates the lashes well and defines them. I've used it both with the Dior Maximiser Lash serum and on it's own and it looks great both ways. It goes on really evenly, I wonder whether this is because of the brush and packaging. The brush is curved and 'spikey' there's resistance when you pull the brush out so I suspect it the mascara bottle wipes off the excess product. The brush is really easy to use. The only downside is that it's quite difficult to remove, even after using an eye make-up remover and showering I still get black gunky bits in the morning. On the plus side it doesn't smudge at all! Overall the best mascara I've ever used, only problem is they don't sell it in the UK :(

Mascara -Estee Lauder - MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara

I had this mascara as a sample. My lashes are medium length and permed using LVL. It's a very wet and clumpy mascara, there always seems to be too much mascara on the brush. By the end of the day it also seems to smudge too. Overall I'm not a fan, I've definitely used better mascaras.

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum

I bought this from all the rave reviews. My lashes are medium length oriental/asian, permed with the LVL system (For those of you with very straight lashes, this is AMAZING). I wanted it for a long time, but the price put me off. At first I wasn't sure how to use it i.e. before bed like a night cream/serum or just before putting on mascara as a base coat. I tried both and because it comes out white it looked really weird on it's own so I'm now using it as a base coat before mascara. I've tried it with a few mascaras (Hypnose, Elizabeth Arden Double density and Clarins Instant definition) and to be honest I'm not noticing a huge difference with or without the serum. I can't really tell if it's improving the condition of my lashes as I started LVL around the same time as the serum. Because I haven't noticed a huge difference and it is very expensive, I probably won't buy this again. As this seems to be the top rated lash serum/primer I also doubt that I will bother trying any others either. However the formula and consistency was good, it was thick and went on easily. The brush is easy to control and there's just the right amount of mascara on the brush because of this I think I will try some of the Dior mascaras...

Mascara -Elizabeth Arden - Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara

I have straight medium length oriental/asian lashes, which are permed using the LVL system (Which is AMAZING, btw). This mascara was quite dry when it came out of the tube. It took a while to get used to, but it did mean it didn't smudge as much. It had good staying power and didn't flake or run. I bought it as a volumising mascara and from other reviews it sounded like it would layer well. I managed to put 1 & half layers on before it started looking a little spidery. I started using this on top of the Dior Maximise Primer/Serum and to be honest there wasn't much difference with or without the serum. For the price it isn't a bad mascara, but I think I had high expectations of it.

Moisturizers -Olay - Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Night Cream
Kalos 7/23/2011 7:34:00 AM
I love this night cream. I was using a 'whitening' olay cream from Hong Kong until they discontinued it. I've found this to be a very similar texture. I have normal-combination skin (Tend to get a shiny nose, occasionally in winter dry patches on my cheeks). A pot tends to last a while. I'm not sure of it's 'anti-wrinkle' properties, but to be fair I'm oriental and only 25 so don't have too many wrinkles to battle. It's not oily or too thick and goes on well and absorbs well. I find it is a great moisturiser. The fragrance is fine too. Will definitely continue repurchasing.

Tinted Moisturizer -Nivea - Visage Young Be Beautiful Tinted Moisturiser
Kalos 7/23/2011 7:27:00 AM
I've been using this for years. Before the 'Be Young' version came out I was using the normal one. I have normal-combination skin (My nose tends to be shiny, but can sometimes get dry patches on my cheeks). When my skin is behaving it goes well as a moisturiser, but always needs rubbing in well to make sure no marks are left. It gives light coverage and works well to even out the skin tone (don't expect it to cover any blemishes). The tube lasts a long time. I have yet to find a better tinted moisturiser, especially at the price of this one.

Shampoo -Batiste - Original Dry Shampoo
Kalos 7/23/2011 7:22:00 AM
This is the first dry shampoo I've used. I've been sceptical in the past (have visions of walking around with obvious powder talc marks in my hair!), but my cousin raved about it so I thought I'd give it a try. I usually wash my hair every other day. On the 2nd day it can be a little greasy at the root. I spray this on and left it for a few minutes then brushed out and if definitely made a difference. My hair was fresher and it took that greasy look away. It's definitely not a substitute for washing your hair, but made that 2nd day look a little fresher. I'll definitely be using this again.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
Kalos 7/23/2011 7:18:00 AM
I have straight, thin, medium length oriental/asian lashes. I like mascaras to give volume, not to clump or flake. This has not flaked at all. It starts to clump if you try to put on a second coat. It works to give a natural look with a single coat. It holds a curl ok and the brush was easy to use. Overall I liked it, but I still think (and hope!) there are better mascaras out there.

I have medium length, straight, thin oriental/asian lashes. I like mascaras to give volume, a little length and not to clump or flake. This mascara was very average, there wasn't anything to dislike about it, but it just wasn't fantastic. Not a patch on Maxfactor Masterpiece.

Mascara -Max Factor - False Lash effect Fusion
Kalos 7/23/2011 7:07:00 AM
I have medium length, straight, thin oriental/asian lashes. I was using Masterpiece, which I found much better than this. It started flaking after a month and is difficult to build layers with. It also didn't volumize well. It's a average mascara, but for my lashes Masterpiece is much better.

I have medium length, thin, straight oriental/asian lashes. This mascara did not clump or flake. It lengthened and volumised, but gave a natural look. It's my favourite mascara so far...

I think the color range is great, usually i find it really difficult to find a concealer which matches my oriental skin tone. It has great coverage esp good for spots. The texture is quite creamy/thick so not that great if u dont like heavy concealers.
