Foundations -Cover Girl - Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I received this product as a BzzAgent to review. The color I chose was buff beige. I wear Kevyn Acouin SX05, Ocean Mist Cosmetics Shell, & Revlon Photoready Nude for comparison. This color matched my skin tone very well. Application with my fingers was streaky and a lot of product was needed to get good coverage since I have very pink cheeks. I also applied with my stippling brush. This way worked MUCH better. Only one pump was used for nice, medium coverage. It blended well. As the day progressed, The foundation began to wear off and pool into the larger pores on my cheeks, leaving my with a slightly spotted look. Not pretty. I have oily skin which probably does not help. By the end of the day, my cheeks had no makeup (from constant blotting) and there was little left anywhere else on my face. People with normal or dry skin may not have this issue. Since I was doing a review in this foundation, I wore it daily for 2 weeks. I use a primer, which may have helped lasting power only slightly. I also ended up taking the foundation and corresponding powder to work for touch ups. After two weeks, I had to stop. I rarely have issues with acne since I have a good skin care routine, but this product has really caused me to break out badly. I will not purchase in the future.

Treatments -Nick Chavez - Angel Drops with Argan Oil
rated 4 of 5

I have fine, thin, color treated hair. After a nice trim, my ends look good for about a week, then they start to roughen up. Using a tiny amount of this product really helps improve the appearance of my hair. I put 1-2 drops in my hand, rub my hands together, then apply starting at my ends first. When there is barely any left on my hand, I rub the top and sides of my head to remove the rest. I dont feel this product weighs my hair down or causes additional oiliness in my hair. The bottle I have will last me an extremely long time.

Nails -Zoya - Remove +
rated 4 of 5
Kallia 9/9/2012 5:28:00 PM

I received a small bottle of Remove + with my last Zoya order. I really don't like the smell of this product. The fragrance is headache inducing and lingers. I'm not one sensitive to fragrance, either. We use home fragrance, B&B fragrance, & I love me some perfume and essential oils. I'm reminded of Aveda fragranced products which don't bother me. I am not sure why this one does. As for removal, it works well when following the directions on the Zoya website: saturate a cotton ball, hold the cotton on the polished nail for a few seconds, then wipe clean. It took a few wipes for my 3 coats, but did the job decently. If I can get past the smell, I'd love to try this in a scrubby tub. Once I use it up, I will not purchase as it is too cost prohibitive. $4.60 for 2 oz of Remove could get me a nice sized bottle of acetone and enough glycerine to go with it. I normally use Loodie's recipe and am very satisfied.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nail Magic
rated 5 of 5
Kallia 9/7/2012 7:57:00 AM

I have been using this product for about 8 weeks now. Twice a week, I apply a thin coat on bare nails, then continue with my usual manicure. I experienced burning only once. It was right after removing the acrylic and applying 3 coats on my nails. The damaged nails along with a lot of product is what I believe to cause the burning sensation. After this experience, I only apply a very thin coat and no more. I have experienced no pain since. Now for my results thus far. There is a sharp deliniation on my nails where I can actually see the difference in what is healthy nail and what is damaged. My nails below the damage are pink and smooth. They also appear to be thicker than the damaged area. I have had no nail breakage or chips as a result of using Nail Magic. My nails are the longest they have ever been (Yay, free edge!) Once my nails grow to a point where I see no damage, I will update this review. By then, I should be able to give you a good idea of how strong my nails have become. At this time, I do plan on purchasing again.

Powder -Unlisted Brand - Ocean Mist
rated 5 of 5

My favorite mineral foundation. I wear shell ans have been using this product for years. Every container I have purchased is finely milled and the color is always consistent, which is not always the case with indie brands. Coverage is buildable which is good for me as my face turns ruddy as the day progresses. Staying power is very nice as well. It can be sweated off, but for general wear, I am very satisfied. CS is responsive and they give nice samples.

Highlighters -E.L.F. - All Over Color Stick
rated 2 of 5
Kallia 8/29/2012 9:25:00 AM

I own two colors of this product: pink lemonade (purchased) and golden peach (free gift, did not choose color). The pink lemonade is a lovely shade of blushing pink. I was only able to use this once or twice because the twisting mechanism broke very soon after my first use. The actual product was dry and did not spread smoothly on the skin. Golden peach is also a lovely color in the packaging, but once applied to my cheeks it left a very shiny, shimmery, and unattractive glow. It seemed almost metallic so off it came. I prefer this over my lipstick to give it a bit of oomph and use a clear lip gloss over it. Unless the packaging on the golden peach breaks, this should last me a very long time. Because of the difficult application, I will not purchase again.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
rated 4 of 5
Kallia 8/29/2012 9:14:00 AM

I use this powder to set my mineral foundation. The packaging is big, bulky, & can be difficult to open if you have small, arthritic hands. The puff is soft and I use it to apply the powder. I have lugged the container around while traveling and do not experience too much powder leakage through the sifter holes with the puff to contain it. If there is too much powder outside the sifter, the holes are large enough to shake and tap it back into the container. The powder itself is very fine and soft with no clumping. It applies smoothly, but should be patted in as it can leave a slight whitish cast to the face if not. I feel it has mild oil control, but not as much as Ocean Mist Cosmetics Silken Perfection Face Powder. I still need to blot midday, but I do not get excessive shine. OMC's powder keeps me shine free with no blotting. I feel this powder gives my face a healthy, but not shimmery, glittery glow. I have large pores and it does not accentuate them. I would recommend and purchase this product again.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup
rated 5 of 5
Kallia 8/19/2012 9:53:00 PM

This is my go to liquid foundation for the cooler months. I sweat everything off in the summer so usually wear OMC's mineral foundation. Coverage is wonderful on my skin. I have medium to large pores and this product does not bunch in them like some other fair foundations do. It also wears very well, lasting throughout the day, especially with a good primer. I like to apply it with a sponge and a little goes a long way. I have always found it easy to match my skin tone with foundation and this one is no exception. I also have the tendency to flush and the PhotoReady helps cover that up well. I really get a great looking complexion using this foundation.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Gem Crush-Lady Luck
rated 4 of 5
Kallia 8/19/2012 9:39:00 PM

This Gem Crush color is exquisite (as they all are). It is a full coverage glitter that covers well with 2 coats. While a little thick, the formula is still manageable. I usually wait a few minutes between coats so the first can set well. Wear is great on this polish. I had no chipping, but I will say that it's a greedy glitter. Lots and lots of top coat is needed, but it is well worth it for the glamorous look one can achieve. I plan on purchasing the entire Gem Crush line.

Polishes -Revlon - Whimsical
rated 4 of 5
Kallia 8/19/2012 9:09:00 PM

I am really happy with this creamy, yet sheer glitter polish. I've heard it's very much like Debra Lippmann's Glitter is in the Air. I've worn it a few times, usually with undies like a pale mint green or robin's egg blue. I imagine a pale pink would also be lovely under this polish. Application was very nice, not clumpy like some glitter polishes can be. Also, the glitter lay well on the nail and I was able to get nice looking glitter "spread" when applying. This is one I am definitely getting a backup for.

Polishes -Sinful - Cinderella
rated 3 of 5
Kallia 8/19/2012 9:04:00 PM

While Cinderella is a beautiful pastel blue color with copper flakies, the polish application was streaky and watery. I was able to get it to look decent after about 2 thin and 1 thick coat. Still, I turned it into undies for Revlon's Whimsical and preferred it's appearance that way. Since I had to apply it fairly thick on the last coat, it took a bit to dry. I'd purchase it again because the color is beautiful, but I may have to leave the bottle open to thicken it up for easier application.

Tools -Unlisted Brand - Ruby Stone Crystal Nail File
rated 1 of 5
Kallia 8/5/2012 3:13:00 PM

Trying to file and shape my nails is painfully slow and frustrating. I felt like I was getting nowhere with my nails. Maybe if my nails were already shaped, I would like this file. Another thing that I didn't like is it kept slipping off my nail edge and knocking my nail with the side.

Powder -Unlisted Brand - Ocean Mist Cosmetics - Silken Perfection Finishing Powder
rated 5 of 5
Kallia 7/29/2012 9:15:00 PM

I love this product as a "before" powder to help control oil on my skin. I also use it as a finishing powder over my mineral foundation (OMC Shell). There are no clumps and each time I order, everything is consistent.

Shampoo -Wen by Chaz Dean - Cleansing Conditioners - All
rated 2 of 5
Kallia 7/29/2012 9:13:00 PM

I used an entire order of the Sweet Almond and decided it was totally not for me. I have thin, fine hair with an oily scalp. At first, it appeared to do well. My hair felt softer and smoother. After about 2 weeks, I felt like more hair was coming out on my brush. It also felt like coarse straw. Then, it began to look like I did not wash my hair because my hair was becoming flat and greasy, even with a really good rinse. The comb that comes with the product is sharp and did not do well in my hair. I felt it was too wide to really get the product in my hair good. Lesson learned, expensive is not always better.
