Eye Shadow -MAC - Stars N Rockets
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 9:18:00 PM
I LOVE THIS COLOR! I had been eyeing this (no pun intended) for awhile, was still in my neutrals/blues/grays..and have been on a "purple/plum" kick now. I bought this to go with Dazzlelight I already have, and bought Shale, Scene and Beauty Marked. I will be adding Mauvism paint, set complete! It is a very unique color, not a true "purple", kind of a pink/mauve yet lavender with slight blue undertones, flashes opalescent. Works as a wash (a little goes a long way), as a liner, combine with other colors as contour, even highlight it goes great against my brown eyes, brown hair (NW25). I am already almost out, so gotta go shopping....bye!

Blush -MAC - breezy
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 6:50:00 PM
I have never been much of a blush person, into eyeshadow and lipstick colors too much. Also, focused more on foundation and not getting and keeping my skin healthy...well, I do now, so I need very little foundation, and I can wear blush without looking like Mimi from Drew Carey! It goes great with plum colors....Neutral/plum/purple/berry shadows, and I use with Magenta lip pencil and Girl About Town lipstick, or berry and red lips. I read this also goes well with NY Apple lipstick, I can see with a slight reddish (but mainly clear plum) tone, it would work well with almost any color! Big compact, but will probably last me forever!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shale Eyeshadow
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 6:35:00 PM
I had purchased this color a couple years ago, liked it but felt it was too shimmery, neutral one color (or contour during day) eye. Well, and into plums/purples now, and this was recommended along with some other purple/plums, I have changed blush, lip colors which coordinate better with Shale, it is hard to describe this color, kinda of a shimmery mauve/brown/bronze, I am NW25. Will be a staple now!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Beauty Marked
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 6:31:00 PM
I had purchased this once in a holiday palette, liked it but not really into plum, berry colors. Well, this was recommended for the purple/plum collection I'm starting, and I LOVE it! Great contour color, especially for nights out or just to jazz up your look. A subtle plummy/brownish/burgundy with sparkles (gold, I believe) I am NW 25 and it's perfect with my skin tone, and goes great with other plums, etc I have. Another winner! (An oldie but goodie?).

Eye Shadow -MAC - Dazzlelight
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 6:28:00 PM
FINALLY! My perfect neutral/highlighter. I bought this because I am so impressed with the Veluxe shadows (Twinks I love, a staple now). It is a light beige with slight white? Or opalescent tint, with shimmer. Nice pigment, texture, neutral enough to go with my "plum and purple" collection I am starting, and use with probably any other MAC color (cool to neutral, I am NW 25). Really lightens up my eyes. I had purchased Shroom, Shimma Paint, and a frost from the Madame B collection last year, can't remember, a neutral beigey. NONE have worked for me, this does.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satellite Dreams
Kalamity10 3/16/2006 6:24:00 PM
I was very disappointed in this shadow. Getting together a "purple" tone makeup collection, this was recommended along with :Scene, Stars n Rockets, and Shale, and Beauty Marked. (Already have Twinks and Dazzlelight that work with some berry/plumish colors). It looked SO pretty in the plot, medium toned purple (not bright) with sparkle. Well, I was expecting Trax like sparkle, when you get it wet, VAVOOM! No matter how wet I got it, it was way too sheer (not enough pigment), and the sparkle was so minimal. I ended up giving it to my niece. You just can't always tell, I should've tried this tester, I just thought for SURE I would love it and rep agreed (they could've pushed another color, but this LE so that's why this one).

Lip Gloss -MAC - lacquer- veneer
Kalamity10 11/16/2005 6:35:00 AM
I JUST got this today, it was on order, and rep had to reorder it was so out of stock!!! This is the most gorgeous shimmery fuschia color, my FAV color in a lipstick, but very hard to find...they've either been disc, or don't stay on, etc. so, decided to try more glosses...this is incredible. I can't find the words to do justice to the texture! I usually get sexy glosses, or treatment type, but this is BOTH. I can't wait to try more colors. My b/f will flip! He loves hot pinks, etc. and loves gloss, this is so high quality I am just in shock!

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
Kalamity10 11/15/2005 4:49:00 AM
This is my staple liner! My b/f compliments my eyes when I'm just wearing this (of course being a shadow-aholic that is rare). It stays on as well as one can expect from a kohl, which are soft textured. In the summer or outdoor winter sports, Engraved Powerpoint holds up. I normally use a shadow over it anyway so helps to keep it in place. I have several pencils, tried Rimmel, CG, but for my staple neutral I have to have my smolder! I actually panicked when I lost one, it literally rolled out of purse, off chair, dunno. It is a long enough pencil it lasts quite awhile anyway.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Hepcat
Kalamity10 11/13/2005 9:36:00 AM
I was hesitant to buy this, I have bought shadows with similar "tones" (CG Claret, for one). I can't go too red when doing a plummy/pink eye, or too pink. (NW 23). I really liked the look of Pale Out/Nocturnelle/Grey Grape. The Nocturnell to me seems like a darker version of Hepcat, so bought Hepcat which seems to be one of the most popular MAC colors from what I've been reading! I had planned on Cranberry, but maybe this holiday season it won't be so much red, but alot of plums/pinky plums and greens!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Knight Divine
Kalamity10 11/13/2005 9:32:00 AM
My Knight in Shining Armour has arrived! I have owned all the matte MAC grays...greystone, print, scene...but have not had luck with one that had some shimmer. Finally! This is shimmery, but not too much for daytime, very versatile. My rep suggested Hepcat to go with (Veneer lips), and more research is leading to my first Naked Lunch! (purchase that is). So now I don't have to buy SQUARE shadows that don't go in my palettes, or the PF Baked Smokes which had a nice dark gray shimmer, that I had to actually take out of stupid package and make into a loose powder (which I hate, unless they're MAC pigments). This will no doubt be a staple for me.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Pressed Powder
Kalamity10 11/11/2005 1:36:00 AM
I LOVE this powder! Bought on impulse, got tired of being unable to find a powder that had some iridescence or bronzing quality that wasn't too drying! (I'm no teeny bopper anymore). This is my HG powder now, it adds a healthy, slightly golden/bronze glow. I can add just this and it really makes me look healthier, younger, etc. Only rant, it's a big container, I'm used to smaller compacts. But, found other ways to make room for it in my makeup bag as I am hooked. Plus, it lasts FOREVER! A little goes a long way.

Foundations -MAC - Studio Stick SPF 15 ] [DISCONTINUED]
Kalamity10 11/11/2005 1:31:00 AM
I bought this to keep in my purse, along with my Belightful powder. I use a cheaper foundation actually (I slap it on and go through it quick! But getting older, so finding a good texture product I can use more and it looks good and my skin looks younger! I can't afford (well, justify) ALL MAC, so use this for special occasions, and to keep in purse, and to be "color coded" so I now have an official MAC skintone description. I love this product, I normally use cream to powder or liquid to powder for aging skin, but this is perfect for touchups, and use with my MAC Belightful Powder. It is very portable, I don't care for the huge MAC containers (like my powder!) so this works perfect to take with me.

Palettes -MAC - Holiday 2005 Viva Glam palette
Kalamity10 11/11/2005 1:25:00 AM
First, a GORGEOUS case! A deep red version of Delight eye palettes. Kind of Mock Croc meets oriental. Really unique, nice quality case. Of course not all the colors work for me, but 100% proceeds go to HIV/AIDS so good cause. The lighter colors that aren't the best I use with brighter colors, or over a liner, or use on totally casual days. It contains Viva I-V lipsticks, and a gloss. When I use the product up, keeping the container to refill with other MAC lippies!!!

Palettes -MAC - MAC delights 6 eye cool
Kalamity10 11/11/2005 1:20:00 AM
This is the most impressive MAC shadow palette I have purchased. Had 2001 Holidazzle, 2003 Coral Collection (hope I have this info right!) and Tailormade 2005. My complaints about other Holiday palettes is I do NOT like vertical placement of shadows, easier to use a horizontal form. (Duh, that's why most companies have single rectangle or circular placement, not vertical in say Revlon or BB new format. Much easier to get shadow out of! I loved the " cuteness" of Tailormade, but thought using fabric, and a boring plaid was something my gramma would've used! I love the cool eyes. Great texture, colors. My b/f loves. My only rant-I like a darker contour to use (like Grey Grape). I use Sumptuous Olive on lids, not dark enough for me to use as contour (NW25). The container is so cute, oriental magenta/purple with design on front, and textured faux croc on front. I will NEVER get rid of the container when out of shadow, too cute! I love all the colors, the best are Sumptuous Olive and Grey Grape. This makes up for the rip off Tailormade from summer.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
Kalamity10 10/24/2005 5:39:00 AM
I have read about this color many times, but have never purchased because I thought it would be too "warm". It's a very unique color, a gold with a hint of peach, but it's not a super yellow gold, it's a medium tone. It really makes my brown eyes pop, GORGEOUS with burgundy/browns/grays, especially black as liner/contour for night, or with red lipstick, I wore Ruby Woo with this and vavavavoom! Hardly recognize myself. My MAC rep knows I have cool/neutral skin and can't go too warm, I was reluctant at first, but so glad I bought! Perfect color for fall and holidays. It is the wonderful veluxe pearl texture, shimmery but not over the top frost, and very pigmented. I use on lid after dark, and daytime underbrow as hightlighter.
