Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lansinoh Lanolin

This really is a very good 'secret'. I tend to use it at night before I go to sleep, and most often wake up thereafter with perfectly moisturised, slightly plumper lips. One lippy off because I find that using this as an overnight treatment, unlike Nuxe Reve de Miel balm, does not guarantee that I won't need to use any more lipbalm throughout the rest of the day.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
rated 2 of 5

I really, really wanted to like Burt's Bees lip balms, but unfortunately they just do not work on me. I honestly feel as though this is making my lips drier. A shame, particularly as the tint is very nice- subtle enough to redden your lips totally naturally.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Suti - Rejuvenate Face Oil
rated 5 of 5

Living in China means I have limited access to good, organic skincare, so I always make sure to stock up when I'm in Europe. I picked this out more or less at random from Whole Foods in London- my brother was tapping his toes impatiently waiting for me, and so I grabbed it and went. Having used it more or less daily in the 2 months since I've owned it, I'm pleased to report that I'm absolutely delighted with this product. The dispenser makes for an easy, fuss-free application, and the oil is pleasantly scented (I get oranges and rosehips). It sinks into my skin without too much ado, and I notice a considerable difference when I wake up in the morning after applying it the night before. I'm even more pleased to note that the 50ml bottle I currently have has a decent 5/6th left, which is a major relief as well! I suggest to use this on just-toned skin, 3 drops is the perfect amount to cover my face.

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
rated 5 of 5

Excellent product. As a lipbalm snob, I am generally skeptical about faddish products, but this does not disappoint one bit. I got it in the natural mint flavour, and was delighted at how it immediately soothed my winter-ravaged lips and lent a rosy tint and tingling sensation. Hours later, my lips are still moisturised and I don't feel the urge to reapply obsessively. I am already dreading running out of this as it's not available where I live, and am scheming for ways to have this brought back to me!

Lip Treatments -DuWop - Pure Venom Plumping Lip Stain - Pure Berry
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 1/18/2012 6:19:00 AM

I have been an avid user of DuWop products for almost a decade, and remain convinced that the original formulation of Lip Venom (i.e. before they introduced the wee brush) was more potent. Over the years, I've lost patience with glosses as they are invariably too drying for my lips and my impossible-to-tame curls seem to fly to my lips as if they were magnets. This is one of the best stains I've come across- it is a true berry colour, unlike BeneTint and Stainiac et al, who tend to look slightly Kool-Aid-esque. It is much sheerer than it appears in the tin, and gives my lips a beguiling tint. My trick for perfect application: exfoliate the lips before (I use the YSL sugar polish) and then apply sparingly with a brush. Gently rub lips together, and then don't do anything else while it takes its effect. Removed one lippy for the lasting power; which I find to be lacklustre. To try and boost the stained effect for longer, I've been layering a Stainiac from theBalm, or Benetint, underneath, letting it settle in, then applying the Venom on top.

fantastic as a scrub (with either sugar or sea salt) and absolutely unbeatable for hands- i use it throughout the day and as a nighttime treat. my hands are buttery-soft and my nails have never been stronger!

Fragrances -Acqua di Parma - Colonia

i have to admit that i fell for the hype; though i usually don't like the concept of unisex. i first got this as a free sample and sprayed it on purely out of curiosity. it grew on me and after resisting for a year and a half, i caved and bought an 100 ml bottle in st tropez. it opens very sharply, which i don't like, so tend to spritz as soon as i'm out of the shower so that it dries down while i tend to other things. by the time i'm ready to roll, the scent mellows down to one of lavender and rosemary, with the sandalwood just sneaking through. it stays close to the skin, which i adore, and strikes the perfect balance of powderiness and a crisp dryness- inescapably refined. a word of warning: apply with a light hand. one spritz too many and you have an unpleasant dirt/soil smell, which is headache-inducing. this is summer on the mediterranean: quiet elegance, white cotton and linen, glass after glass of rose in the lazy afternoon sun with friends.

Skincare - Face -Jurlique - Herbal Recovery Gel
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 7/24/2008 2:48:00 AM

what i love about this product is that it's highly moisturising, but extremely light. i've been using this for about 3 months now, and i've noticed gradual, subtle improvements in my skin. that's taking into account 2 full months of hardcore sun exposure- frolicking in the sun for 6 hrs a day in brasil and west africa. it hydrates my skin perfectly without a single trace of greasiness, absorbs almost instantly, leaves it feeling delightfully refreshed and smells heavenly. i'm a definite convert.

Treatments -Nuxe - Creme Nirvanesque (for all skin types)
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 5/4/2008 2:58:00 PM

this is an excellent product. moisturizing enough for use on its own (though i tend to layer it underneath nuxe's creme fraiche) but very light and absorbent. actually feels like it's doing your skin some good as well. and the scent is delightful and uplifting- j'adore.

Lip Treatments -Nuxe - Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm with Honey and Precious Oils
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 1/30/2008 8:49:00 AM

fantastic product. true, it's very thick, but one applicate hydrates and nourishes your lips for the rest of the day, and i don't feel the urge to constantly reapply as i do when using 8-hr cream. very pleasant scent (orange blossom is allegedly very good for lifting the spirits!) and the waxiness, though it takes some getting used to, is by far superior to that feeling of slick oiliness you get with other things like vaseline.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom 2nd Sin
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 11/3/2007 7:33:00 AM

i have full lips as it is, so i appreciate that plumping glosses are kind of an excercise in superfluity- but i can't help it, i love them. i've loved lip venom since the beginning of this decade, back when it came without a brush (i remembered it being more potent back then) and was very curious about this new version. thusfar, i adore it- it makes my lips swell up without looking remotely ridiculous. the texture is great, not too sticky, and the cooling feeling is very refreshing. i love the colour of it, and how it colours my lips a delectable shade of strawberry. absolutely delicious.

Moisturizers -Dr. Brandt - Infinite Moisture

this product is FANTASTIC- the name is a true description of its wondrous qualities. it manages to even out my oily skin, drenching it in hydration, yet doesn't cause further oiliness nor breakouts- absolutely genius. can't live without it. and yes, it is pricey, but it lasts a whole year and is worth every penny!

Scrubs -Dr. Brandt - Microdermabrasion in a Jar
rated 5 of 5
Kaijia 3/4/2007 8:31:00 AM

this is a fantastic product. i'm naughty and really don't exfoliate as much as i should; something about taking off layers of my skin unneccessarily really doesn't appeal to me, but funnily enough, i really like this. i love the fact that after i use it, my skin feels completely new, and the baby-smoothness of it makes me just want to touch my face constantly (i don't though). i tend to use it in the shower, patting my face dry of excess moisture, and use a buddhist mantra as my counting time. the most important thing afterwards however is moisture, moisture, moisture. if i have time, i'll cover my face in a thin layer of honey for a few minutes afterwards, then rinse carefully, apply toner, moisture gel, and plenty of nuxe's huile prodigieuse. the result: heavenly soft, glowing skin- no makeup required!!
