Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - moisture boost daily restoring complex
rated 4 of 5

Me: Combo skin with very oily T zone. NC42 skin tone. This is a great moisturizer that has lots of beneficial ingredients and high SPF. Pros: + Creamy texture goes on skin smoothly + Leaves no white cast (chemical sunscreen) + Satin sheen finish but not greasy + Lightweight yet still very moisturizing Cons: - Satin sheen finish will emphasize oiliness Overall, I would repurchase this because I like it a lot. Even though it's specifically made for dry skin, I took a gamble and tried it out and it happens to work really well with my oily-combo skin. After a few a hours my skin gets really oily but this moisturizer doesn't make me as greasy as other dry-skin moisturizer.

(Me: Combo skin with very oily T-zone. NC 42 skin tone. ) This is a really good product; it has lots of beneficial ingredients and protects your skin from the sun. But in the end, it wasn't right for me. Pros: + Satin Sheen finish but not greasy + Soothing for dry skin; very moisturizing + Absorbs nicely into skin; no white chalky finish Cons: - Not easily bendable - Makes my skin very oily in a few hours Overall, I would not repurchase this because it makes my skin look very greasy after a few hours. This product is made specifically for Dry skin. I have oily-combo skin but wanted to try it out anyways.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder
rated 4 of 5

I use this all the time to set my makeup. It's a nice translucent powder that is very finely milled; you can apply layers and not look chalky. pros - finish; It makes my pores smaller and helps give that Airbrush look cons - in flash photos you will look chalky (if you apply a lot) I'm still on my jar of this stuff, it lasts a long time. Although I use it sparingly. You don't need a whole lot.

Liquid -Revlon - New Complexion Makeup
rated 3 of 5

I had this in Sand beige 15. It was too light. If I went a shade darker, it was too orange/dark. Pros - liquid is easy to blend - natural finish Cons - color choices don't match my skin

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
rated 3 of 5

I have this in Honey 320. There's not enough yellow undertone in it. When I put it on, it makes me look darker. I tried it in Sand Sable 260 (one shade up) and it's too light. But from my experience wearing it a couple of times (mixing the shades), I did like the consistency of the liquid; it's easy to blend. It leaves a nice semi matte finish. I won't repurchase because I need something that better matches my skin color.

Loose Powders -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Soft-Focus Mineral Finish
rated 2 of 5
KP1234 1/1/2012 9:30:00 PM

I have this in translucent 401. It's not translucent enough -- it makes me look pasty. Pros - fragrance free Cons - chalky, pasty finish - don't like the packaging; I just use my own brush vs the one connected to its lid. I bought this as an alternative to MUF HD Loose powder. You live, you learn; I won't repurchase. It makes me look pasty/chalky.

Pressed Powders -Cover Girl - Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5

I have this in 545 Warm Beige. It's a perfect match the suits my tanned yellow undertone Asian skin. Pros - color selections - works well Cons - over applying can leave your face looking pasty I bought this as an alternative to my MAC Blot Powder. It's a good alternative that I will repurchase. The main difference between the two powders is that MAC has a better finish -- you can apply 2 - 3 layers with out looking to pasty. I guess MAC is a more finely milled powder.

I have this in 330 Rich Tan. It's a good match but I wish it had more yellow undertones to better fit my Asian skin. pros - long lasting - matte finish cons - thick formula; not easy to blend -- best to use your fingers

Liquid -Mary Kay - Medium Coverage Foundation
rated 3 of 5
KP1234 1/1/2012 9:16:00 PM

I've tried this in Beige 305 and Bronze 500. But the perfect match is Beige 400. It's the perfect match to my tanned Asian skin with yellow undertone. Beige 400 matches almost perfectly; wish it had a little bit more yellow. Overall, this is my go to foundation, I have used 3 tubes now in Beige 400. Pros - easy to blend - lots of color choices; Beige 400 fits me perfect - natural finish Cons - I wish it had more of a yellow undertone. All the colors I've tried seem to be cool undertone. In the end, when all else fails I always come back to this. If it had more yellow in it, it would be perfect.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

I have tried this product in "009 Rich Ginger" and "008 Golden Beige". Pros - Really nice packaging - Liquid is easy to blend Cons - Too shimmery - Made me look really oily after a couple of hours - Shades; 008 was just a little too light and 009 was just a little too dark..... Overall I wont repurchase because the main reason is it's too shimmery.

Cleansers -Neostrata - oil free gel cleanser
rated 4 of 5
KP1234 8/23/2011 12:53:00 AM

This is one of my favorite cleansers ever. I've tried so many over the years but I always come back to this. Pros - Glycolic acid gently exfoliates any flaking skins and keeps my pores clear and small - Gentle but deep cleaning - Fragrance and oil free - Foams easily Cons - I wish it had more makeup removing powers. Because it doesn't I have to use a toner after The only thing keeping this cleanser from being a holy grail is the price ($25 CAD) and it doesn't remove all my makeup. When I use a toner after I see makeup residue (IE I usually wear long lasting foundations like Estee Lauder double wear or MAC pro long). But I will keep repurchasing because this cleanser for me, is as good as it gets.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 4 of 5
KP1234 8/23/2011 12:44:00 AM

This is the best foundation I've tried ever so far. Pros - Good medium coverage but buildable - Blends well and controls shine - Fragrance and oil free; safe for sensitive skin and doesn't break me out (unlike my Loreal True Match which broke me out) - Great color match for my warm yellow Asian skin (I have this in 3.0) - Natural finish and photo friendly Cons - Can look pasty if over applied (Duh right) - Hard to wash product off my foundation brush (have to buy a makeup removing brush cleaner) Overall I'm really happy with this foundation so far.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 4 of 5
KP1234 8/23/2011 12:31:00 AM

I really like this concealer. I have it in NC42 and its the perfect match. Pros - Great coverage and buildable - The color is the perfect match (all my past concealers have always been to light or too dark.) - Long lasting - Not too thick and heavy (thicker than my Maybelline Mineral concealer but lighter than my Mary Kay concealer) Cons - None It's my HG concealer... For now.

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation
rated 3 of 5
KP1234 8/23/2011 12:24:00 AM

I have very oily asian skin. I've been looking for a foundation that's long lasting but not heavy. This foundation has met my expectations. Pros: - long lasting (I find the foundation is highly pigmented and after 8 hours it still covers my imperfections) - not thick and heavy (especially compared to my Revlon Colorstay (rich tan) - medium coverage but very buildable Cons - Really expensive ($40 CAD) - NC42 is sooo yellow/orange (I can't wear it in "real lighting" IE outside or else I look like Snooki lolz) - Doesn't control oil (but I do have crazy oily skin) - After a couple of hours it transfers easily IE when I blot my face with tissue Overall I wouldn't repurchase because there isn't the perfect color match. NC40 is too light. NC45 is too dark. I'm soo disappointed because this would have been the HG.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Moisture Cream Sensitive SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
KP1234 2/14/2011 6:06:00 PM

This is a staple in my beauty arsenal. I really like how it's a light moisturizer but still makes my face soft. After initially applying the product it gives me a nice dewy look. But since I have oily skin it I quickly turned into a grease ball. But the problem is easily remedied with pressed powder. I would prefer a pump style, but I see the benefits of it being in a bottle. Overall it's the only decent light SPF moisturizer out there.
