Went to Walmart and checked this fragrance out because of the glowing reviews. It smelled very familiar to me (maybe someone I knew wore it?) Anyway, being in search of a long-lasting true flower fragrance, this did not make the grade for me. It is a nice fragrance, but had a powdery note that I just didn't like.

I was looking for a nice gardenia fragrance, and this is the closest one I found in the department store. My only problem with it is that it has a strong vanilla dry down fragrance. Too sweet - and not like the flower at all. I have just found Yves Rocher Gardenia and after doing a comparison test today on index cards, Yves Rocher won hands down for smelling more like the actual flower.

I was really hoping to find a good GARDENIA fragrance here - instead I found what I guess is tuberose. The fragrance itself is not bad - in fact I rather enjoyed it - but don't expect a gardenia smell from this one. Look at Yves Rocher instead if you are looking for a true gardenia fragrance. It's much cheaper too.

Hmmm - sorry to differ with so many here - but I had high hopes for this one and was disappointed to find that it did not smell like the flower to my nose. I have smelled many lilacs - having even gone to a lilac festival in Rochester last spring, and while I know that lilacs can smell differently, this fragrance didn't smell like any I remember. I have two lilac bushes in my backyard, one that smells just heavenly, so in a month or two I will do a direct smell test and update my review then. This fragrance reminded me of something I wore in highschool that was a bit more sweet than I now prefer - I think it was called "Electric Youth". Nevertheless, it is an okay fragrance - the flower smell just seems a bit more hidden than I would hope for. *Update* - Nope - it did not smell a thing like the real flowers in my yard. (unless, of course, I sprayed them with it.)

THis is an AWESOME fragrance! It is so true to the flower - I have tried "Gardenia Passion" by AG, "Gardenia" by Elizabeth Taylor, and the BBW version... this one just blows them all away! It is true that this fragrance fades relatively quickly, but it lasts once layered, which the price allows you to do without hesitation. Once applied this way, it will last quite well. This is not a fragrance that poses a danger of overwhelming others after it dries down. Best of all, unlike "Gardenia" by ET, this one doesn't have that overly sweet vanilla-y dry down. It's just fresh untainted flower.
