Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Junkie1 5/13/2013 1:09:00 PM
How do I like this product? Let me count the ways.... I'll start off by saying that I don't wear eyeshadow that often so the primary purpose of this product is not to keep eyeshadow on my lid. It is however great at hiding all the uneveness, redness, blotchiness on my upper lid, does a fantastic job. Recently I've found another use for it... I started applying this directly on my eyebrows before applying my eyebrow pencil and you know what? My "eyebrows" stay put all day!!! Yowsa!!!! You just need a little bit. I've had this product for at least 6 months and it's not even halfway through. Sure it is dryer than other products but I moisturize my eyes well and I keep the product closed at all times. It's a bit of a bummer to have to go and stick my fingers in there every time I use it (i.e. every morning), however my hands are always clean before I use the product and it works so damn well that this is not enough to discourage me from repurchasing.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
Junkie1 5/13/2013 10:28:00 AM
Previously I have used Smashbox, Lancome, Rimmel and l'Oréal primers. This one beats all. The minute I apply it my skin does not shine anymore. When I apply my foundation over it it seems to stick to my skin right away and at the end of the day my makeup still looks all even. I'm happy I gave this a try. Will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
Junkie1 5/13/2013 10:24:00 AM
I don't remember the last time I've been this impressed by a mascara. This does everything it promises and more. I got this as a gwp and when I opened it and looked at the brush I thought to myself: "Oh oh Clump City here I come." However, I was pleasantly surprised as this did not clump or smudge or disappear, didn't make my lashes look like long spider legs. What's more this is not too dry or too wet, I can reapply during the day to build on it (which I really like doing) and my mascara still looks freshly applied. Great product. I love love love this mascara, it makes my lashes longer and thicker, looks like false lashes. This is comparable to Lancome's Immencils (my all time favourite mascara which was discontinued). I will definitely purchase this once the sample size is finished. P.S.: To avoid getting mascara on my upper lid while applying I simply tilt my head backward and let my eyelashes do all the work (eyelash pushups) works fine for me.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Star
Junkie1 4/22/2013 4:36:00 PM
This particular "star" is more "reality" material than oscar winner. Yes!!! Lancôme has done it again! All their Hypnose mascaras are dreadful and have these weird brushes that are really not user friendly. I got this as a gwp thank God. I hate the fact that you have to use the flat side first to expand and define lashes and then the rounded side to volumize. What a waiste of time that I don't have in the morning and the sad part is that to make this mascara look good I have to use another one over it. Seriously! If a mascara is going to cost over $30 it better deliver. I'll stick to my CoverGirl Lash Perfection (one brush that does it all, lengthen, volumize define, no clumps I might add) and my Maybelline The Falsies "Flared" the only good one that does the same. I selected 1 in all the categories but if I could have I would pick 0 for this product.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared
Junkie1 1/28/2013 4:44:00 PM
While I really dislike the "Falsies" (regular one) and "Falsies Black Drama" they both do nothing for my lashes just like the misnamed "Great Lash" mascara from Maybelline, I really really LOVE The Falsies Flared. I bought it because it was on special for $5.99 and I was pleasantly suprised. It gives great volume, some length (but I prefer volume) and it does not clump, so great definition too. Okay towards the end of the 3 months I do get "mascara dandruff" on my lower lid but not a lot and not enough so that I wouldn't repurchase.

Cleansers -Jergens - All-Purpose Face Cream
Junkie1 6/13/2012 2:21:00 PM
This is not actually a review because I have not had a chance to try this so called marvelous product. However, reading all the reviews about it on this site and on the Internet in general made me very curious so I started looking for it in drugstores and couldn't find it. I then emailed Jergens and they told me that because of declining sales it's not sold here (Montreal) anymore. They were nice enough to tell me of sites where I could order it. So if some of you ladies use and love this product here are the sites (perhaps the sales will go up again and they'll put it back on the market!). Eye Makeup Remover -Rimmel - Gentle Eye Make Up Remover
Junkie1 3/19/2012 10:36:00 AM
This is a great product in the sense that it removes eye makeup (including mascara) effortlessly and quickly and it's also dirt cheap. Unfortunately for me this product really stings my eyes so much I will not be repurchasing.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara
Junkie1 3/19/2012 9:38:00 AM
For those of you who love Maybelline's Full N' Soft mascara and are sad that it has been (for some asinine reason) discontinued this is a good replacement. I LOVE this mascara! The formula is a little bit less wet than the Full N' Soft but it is not dry, doesn't make the lashes brittle, doesn't look fake. It gives wonderful definition. I would say this is more of a thickening mascara than a lenghtening one. I think it's great and will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect
Junkie1 3/19/2012 9:29:00 AM
I also bought this on emilynoel83's recommendation (she gives great reviews!). I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing some of the products she reviewed and agreeing with her. However, this is not one of them. If you like long, brittle, dry and clumpy lashes, this is your go-to product.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
Junkie1 11/28/2011 10:43:00 AM
What a disapointment. All this mascara does is curl and elongate the lashes. Does nothing for volume (definitely does not millionize anything). Thankfully I got this on special because after 3 tries I threw it in the garbage. It's also very dry. It's very flaky. By the end of the day I had mascara dandruff all over my eyes. I will not repurchase.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Junkie1 11/3/2011 4:31:00 PM
I used to think that Double Wear Light was the best foundation. The funny thing is that when I got interested in the Double Wear line the SA gave me the wrong colour in Double Wear and she convinced me to opt for the Double Wear Light which had "my" shade. Recently, I've grown tired of the Double Wear Light, in fact the shade I was given was too light and while it covered well it made me look a bit peaked. Recently I went to Muraille (a big cosmetic store in Montreal a little bit like Sephora) and this brilliant, knowledgeable, professional make up artist suggested the Double Wear in Ecru. Well this foundation matches my skin perfectly (something I haven't had a in a long time). It applies like a charm. Most foundations for combination skin tend to be dry and have to be applied quickly, not this one. It's very fluid but covers all the flaws and lasts for hours!!! I love it! The only thing I'm not crazy about isthe glass bottle and no pump!!!!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Extra volume - collagene
Junkie1 1/20/2011 4:32:00 PM
The packaging is nice, it looks professional and sleek. The mascara and brush however are a disappointment. The mascara is clumpy and dry, you have to apply quickly, the brush doesn't apply evenly. I had to use my mascara brush from L'Oréal Panoramic Curl (too bad they discontinued this great mascara and brush!) and still the results were not amazing. Will not repurchase.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
Junkie1 12/23/2010 4:29:00 PM
Now THIS mascara deserves it's name. It truly is sumptous in every way. Sumptous brush that grabs every lash and does not clump. It holds all day long. It really does thicken the lashes. It's great!!! I got this as a GWP and though the mascara is finished I'm still using the brush. This is better than any mascara or brush that Lancôme has produced in the past 20 years I would say (ever since they discontinued Immencils Mascara). I will eventually repurchase. I've been trying to buy cheap brands to save money (i.e. Falsies, Great Lash, Express Volume Turbo Boost, Revlon's Lash Grow, etc.) however I realized that this is just a waiste of money, for the price I spend on these mediocre mascaras (that I end up ditching) it's better to spend more dough on a product that actually does everything it promises.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama
Junkie1 12/23/2010 4:22:00 PM
Ever since Lancôme Immencils Mascara (with was discontinued ;o(() it seems as though they haven't been able to come up with anything similar. I have to say that Lancôme's Virtuose Mascara is great. I would give an overall rating of 0 to this mascara if I could. As for packaging I don't really care about that, it's what's inside that matters and for the end result this mascara is definitely very expensive. I don't mind paying $30 for a mascara if it's got a great brush, thickens the lashes, holds all day and DOESN'T CLUMP. Thankfully I got this as a GWP. I tried it once and found it blah. Then I went on their website for application tips. I tried it again and it was worst then ever. It gave me long spidery lashes (translation: it looked like I had far less lashes than usual and they were long). Definitely not one of the classics!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
Junkie1 12/23/2010 4:04:00 PM
At first I wasn't crazy about this mascara, although I thought the brush was top notch. Then I did what I usually do to get the best results (because unfortunately there's no one mascara out there that does it all). I used 2 mascaras. I start off with Estee Lauder Sumptous Mascara (another great brush!). This thickens my lashes. Then I use Full and Soft Mascara and I get beautiful definition and length. Great combo! I got the Full and Soft Mascara on sale for $4.99 so that was dirt cheap for a mascara brush that I love (and will most probably repurchase). P.S.: Since my review (above) I have repurchased Full N' Soft many times. If applied in a zig zag motion, instead of the straightforward up and down I used to do, it does thicken lashes! And the best part is that while this mascara doesn't smudge or flake it is not an extra dry disaster that's hard to remove (I hate that) and you can reapply during the day with no fear of clumps and it looks freshly applied. I love it! I hope they never discontinue this product. I really don't understand how Maybelline, ahem "Great Lash" mascara is number 1....
