Hair -Unlisted Brand - Original Sprout - Deep Conditioner

I bought the travel size at sleekhair.com on a whim. I always seem to be on the hunt for HG hair products and have tried so many over the years. This was designed for childrens hair, but I bought for me. I have heavily highlighted hair and my hair suffers from frizz and dryness, especially in humidity. This product actually delivers on it's promise. My hair feels super moisturized, without weighing down. Frizz dramatically minimized. What makes this stand out to me, compared to other products, is the softness of my hair. I keep touching my hair, it is so soft and manageable. Combine this with organic, healthy, ethical ingredients and I believe I have an HG product! Looking forward to trying other products in this line..
Lips -Giorgio Armani - Lip Maestro Intense Velvet Color

This is a beautifully creamy formulation. Does not seem to dry out the lips, lasts for hours. I found the applicator to be easy to use, no need for lip liner. When you put this on, it is like a traditional moist lipstick, I prefer to blot. As I don't like the feeling of lipstick and the transfer factor. Even when blotted, this still lasts for hours and leaves an even stain. So it fades nicely. I bought this in 500 (blush) and 501 (liberta/casual pink). 500 is a peachy pink nude, that I love for daytime. 501 is a soft raspberry, slightly bold for daytime for my light coloring, but would be gorgeous on medium to dark skintones.
Conditioner -Ion - instense hydration miracle leave in

I couldn't find a review for this, so created one. I so love this product! I bought the travel size for $3 to try, at Sally's. Not expecting much. My hair has been super dry and frizzy lately and needed some TLC. I have long, past bra strap, much highlighted, fine, heat styled hair. I have applied this to both wet and dry hair, both ways work. The big difference from the many many other hair products I have tried, is that it gets rid of frizz! It smoothes and moisturizes amazingly well, without making hair flat or greasy. I also love products that can do double duty+. This acts as a conditioner, de-frizzer, heat protector and gives hold to your style!! Although this comes in a spray bottle, the texture is like a light balm. EDIT: I looked at the ingredient list and rubbing alcohol is listed quite high. Although this is the best product I have used in a while. I am going to hold off. Until I know whether or not this is drying in the long term..
I used to use this years ago. Then somewhere along the line. I decided I wanted big, fluttery lashes, which this alone does not give. So I went through dozens of masacaras in my search. Mainly HE ones. There was a trend across all of them. Either they gave me the drama I wanted and smudged. Or, not much drama and flaked. This mascara used alone, is quite wimpy. Almost a lash tint. However, unlike most other tubing mascaras. You can use this with a primer. Also, unlike other tubing mascaras, this doesn't start flaking after a couple of weeks of use. So my mission is complete. I use Dior or Lancome's primer, then Blinc. I get fairly big, fluttery lashes that stay the day, no matter what I do, (cry, hot yoga etc.). Then at the end of the day, I remove easily with hot water and fingertips. No tugging, or damaging delicate lashes to remove. :)
Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
JudiWickham 1/20/2013 9:02:00 AM
I have been on a mission for a few years now, to find the best mascara for me. One that will stay on through hot yoga and the rest of the day, without smudging or flaking. Then, remove easily at the end of the day. Lots of volume and length, also desirable. I got this one the same week as I got GA's eyes to kill waterproof. GA's was $30, Jordana's $2.99! Very similar products, I applied one on on eye, the other on the other eye. Could not tell which was which. Jordana's was easier to remove and gave as big fluttery lashes, as the GA one. There was a tiny bit of smudging for both products, would like to deduct half a star! However, if used with Clarins double fix, no smudges... This is a real beauty bargain.
This mascara is just okay for me. I have been on a mission to find the perfect mascara. One that does not smudge or flake, even through a hot yoga class. One that lengthens and volumizes. Ideally, one that leaves the lashes not too stiff and is easy to remove. Seems like it should be out there, right? Phenom eyes is the one with the funky brush. It is shaped like a ball. I found this easy to use on the bottom lashes, a little trickier on the top. The black is very black, which some will love. For me, it was a little harsh. It also left my lashes a little crispy feeling. It was easy to remove, especially for a waterproof. It smudged and flaked a bit, not badly, but that was the deal breaker. At $30, I was hoping for something special.
Eye Primer -Bare Escentuals - bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer

I loved this at first. It really holds eyeshadow in place longer than any other I have tried (Urband decay, Trish Mc, chanel, Laura Mercier etc.). I found after using it for a week or so though, my lids started drying out and looking crepey! Would probably use for a special occasion, but way to drying for regular use. Also a very small tube for $18..
Powders -Smashbox - Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder
JudiWickham 1/4/2013 5:16:00 PM
This is the best powder I have ever used! I had almost given up on finding a finishing powder. Either they clogged my pores, or highlghted flaws, or oxidized. Halo powder does not do any of those things. Anti-ageing, glowy, smooth, perfect. One word of caution, the colors are much darker than expected. I normally wear light-medium shades in powders and foundations. In this, I wear the lightest shade, fair. I originally bought light and ended up using it as a subtle bronzer, as it is a light tan shade...
I am a little obsessed with finding the best mascara. I am getting through dozens in my search! I want it to be smudge free, lengthening, defining, long lasting and easy to remove, oh and flake free. This ticks all of the boxes, IF used with a primer. Without the primer, if flaked like crazy. With the Lancome XL primer. This was HG stuff. UPDATE: After a couple of weeks, this started to flake, even with primed :(
I am a bit of a mascara junkie. I look for length, volume and most importantly, staying power/zero smudge. It also needs to be easy to remove. This mascara is all that and removes easily with finger tips and hot water. It is my current go-to. I think that TM has reformulated this. I used to use it and after only a couple of weeks, it would get dry and flaky. I have had this tube for about a month now and it is still going strong. If I can get a few more weeks out of it, it will be crowned my HG! Update: I didn't get a few more weeks before it got flaky. It was great for about a month, before starting to get flaky. Next..
Hair -Unlisted Brand - Biotera - Moisturizing Shampoo
JudiWickham 11/10/2012 7:40:00 AM
It is hard for me to review just a shampoo, because I always use a conditioner or treatment after. So really, my results are based on using this with the matching conditioner. I used the ultra moisturizing version of both shampoo and conditioner. As I mentioned in the conditioner review, this stuff is HG worthy. It leaves your hair soft, shiny and ultra moisturized, without weighing it down. I have tried so many HE products over the years, that promise so much, but are just okay. Who knew, there are products that delivers what they promise!
Conditioner -Biotera - Ultra moisturising conditioner
JudiWickham 10/22/2012 10:05:00 AM
THIS CONDITIONER IS HG WORTHY!! I would have never picked this out myself, but it was used on me in a salon. It made my hair so soft and shiny, I asked what it was. The stylist showed me the bottle and said $12 from Sally for a litre bottle! I went out the next day and bought it. This is much better than Kerastase, or any of the HE brands, IMO. I am really impressed with how it moisturises and smoothes. If you need lots of moisture that doesn't weigh your hair down, this is the stuff.
I recently bought an Alexis Vogel kit from Makeup connection. It cost $199 which seemed like a good deal, but is very expensive, I realised when it arrived. There are several great products. The foundation is really nice. As is the concealer and powder. There are a couple of reasonable products, the cake eyeliner and the eyeshadow shammy. The rest is cheaper than cheap quality. I have thrown most of it away. The instructional dvd was mostly a woman that is not Alexis Vogel, acting like she is on an infomercial. I would not purchase from Makeup connection again. I noticed after I purchased, that all of the reviews on that site, are several years old and there is no way to add a new review. If the foundation and concealer became available elsewhere though. I would definately repurchase those. What I learnt from this, check the date of reviews, as sometimes products change!
Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - hairdresser's invisible oil
JudiWickham 10/7/2012 9:33:00 AM
I probably would not have bought this, if I had read the reviews here. It is not a popular product! I bought it, when I was having a desperately frizzy day. I wasn't sure about spending so much money on an oil. The Sephora SA assured me I could return it, if it didn't work. For me, it did work suprisingly well. It smoothed the frizz down without looking greasy or heavy, just shiny. This is the best oil I have tried and I have tried alot. It is an investment though, so worth trying a sample to see if it works for you. UPDATE: Not quite as impressed as I was. Some days this works and some days, it doesn't. Not sure why results vary for me!
Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream
JudiWickham 10/7/2012 9:21:00 AM
I really like this cream. I tend to use it at night and wake up with fresh looking, moisturized skin. It is moisturizing, but not super rich. I read an article in a UK magazine and a dermatologist said, in her opinion one of the best anti-agers was a peptide (can't remember the exact name of the peptide). I researched it, at the time and found it was in this cream. That is why I tried it. I am on my third jar now. I don't use this exclusively. I tend to go for higher end creams, but this works just as well when my skin is normal. If it is dry, I use PTR's mega rich.
