Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
Joy16 11/24/2012 9:03:00 PM
I dislike this moisturizer. It comes in a weird screw jar thing, so it's quite unsanitary. Maybe it's because I have combo skin but it doesn't really do its thing. It's thick, not oil-free and has an unpleasant chemically smell. I just dislike it but I will try to use it up, the bottle is huge...
Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Nutritious Vita Mineral Moisture Lotion
Joy16 11/24/2012 8:58:00 PM
This is not a bad moisturizer. It is quite expensive, but I like how it's an emulsion, so it's nice and light. (This is made for Asian skin) It has a nice pomegranate smell, like the cleanser. I disliked the cleanser but I like this moisturizer. It does it's job, it absorbs well but I don't like how it's not oil-free so it leaves a shine to my face. It smells bad when I put bb cream on top of my face... I think this shouldn't be for teens though... it doesn't do anything bad for my acne or anything good... I wouldn't repurchase because of this price but I will use the rest of the bottle up.
Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Estee Lauder Nutritious Purifying 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser
Joy16 11/24/2012 8:54:00 PM
Not the best department cleanser. I like the idea of a purifying mask, but I never really got into trying it. The smell is a nice pomegranate fruity scent and its easy to cleanse with, but it doesn't wash off all my makeup, and I only use bb cream. It doesn't help with acne or do much. It is wayy too over-priced with what it does.
Cleansers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
Joy16 11/24/2012 8:51:00 PM
A good solid cleanser that cleanses all makeup and dirt off your face. The foam is gentle and easy to clean and rinse off. The only bad thing is that it doesn't really stop my acne, doesn't make it worse or better... and sometimes the pump dispenser gets stuck and i have to pull it back up. I like it though, a good drugstore find.
Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Oily skin
Joy16 9/14/2012 7:51:00 PM
I got a sample size of this of the clinique counter for free to try with my clarifying lotion 2 and dramatically different moisturizing lotion. This is not the best cleanser for me. First of all, the texture is rather runny and it doesn't foam at all, so I don't know if it's actually working. The smell is unattractive but I can deal with it. This didn't dry my skin out but I don't think it did a great job cleansing. It certainly removed my makeup, but that's it. I broke out on my T-zone after using this. Nothing unmanageable though. My cheeks were dried out. If you want to try this, gett a sample size. This product is bad.
Sunscreen -Aveeno - Active Naturals Continuous Protection Lotion SPF 30
Joy16 9/14/2012 7:44:00 PM
I like this sunscreen. I use this only for my body. It smells faintly like sunscreen and fairly thick. When I first applied, I thought it was a little bit greasy but when applied evenly, it sinks into the skin, disappearing. I use this everyday and it hasn't broken me out on my body, it is easy to wash off and doesn't irritate my skin. There is alot in the product, I've used it daily in the summer but there's still some left. Oil free, non greasy, water resistant = a good sunscreen.
Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel
Joy16 8/14/2012 4:39:00 PM
The estee lauder counter girl recommended this as a pimple spot treatment O_O. It is fairly priced for a small bottle (15 mL) , but it lasts a long time. A little goes a long way. The packaging is sanitary and straight-forward and contains 1% salicylic acid. You are supposed to use this after cleansing and dab it on daily. It is a clear gel consistency and it feels cool when I put it on. After 10 seconds, it starts to sting badly for 20 seconds or so. It takes about 10 mins for it to dry to form some kind of gel paste. You can go over it with makeup. This didn't really do anything to my blemish besides drying up the skin around it....
Conditioner -Revlon - Equave Hydro Nutritive Conditioner Spray
Joy16 7/20/2012 10:51:00 PM
I currently am using Revlon Hydro Nutritive Conditioner 2 phase with grape and green tea. I got this from my hair stylist. This is only available with hair salons, you can't buy it in drugstores. I am currently looking for the hair mask that matches with it :( . This product is pretty good, I use it with my damp hair or when it's feeling dry. I usually give my hair a spritz or two before I go out for some extra protection. The smell is very strong... it leaves a shine in my hair but I don't notice that much of a difference without it... I like how it offers UVA/B protection though. I got this 2 big bottles for 20 dollars on sale. Maybe repurchase
I love this bb cream :) This was my first bb cream. I got it at a local asian market for 22 dollars. The packaging is really cute and sanitary. Even with oily combo skin in the summer, i find i have to moisturize alot to get the product nicely absorbed with looking too cakey. In the first 3 weeks of using it, I actually broke out so I stopped using it. 2 weeks after, I started using it again and it made my skin look flawless while helping my blemishes heal. I find at the end of the day, my blemishes look smaller. My friends compliment how smooth my skin feels. i have to blot my nose 4 hours after, but I am hoping to buy the pact soon that matches with it. It is natural and dewy and a medium thickness and medium coverage. i have pale skin so it matches my skin 5 mins after. This is not recommended for tan skin. If you go to the skin79 website, you can reapply during the day. This looks horrible on camera, btw. My skin looked grey and it looked cakey and you can see my blemishes and bleghh. I want to try the new orange version after I finish but I will definetely repurchase. I only need 1-2 small pumps for my entire face and neck.
I bought this for 20 dollars at my local department store. It is a screw top and you are suppposed to pour it onto a cotton ball and sweep over face. If you are a clumsy person, don't buy this, or buy those spray bottles are sephora and pour it in. There is alcohol in this bottle. It burned my NON-sensitive skin. It actually caused me to breakout and did not help with my blemishes. I did not use a clinique cleanser with this but I use the dramatically different moisturizing lotion after. Maybe the cleanser has to match for it to work, so you should buy the whole set. And I'm Type 2 in the winter and Type 3 in the winter (go to clinique.com to find your skin type) so maybe that's why it broke me out in the summer... The product comes in a huge bottle but alot is wasted when you pour it out onto a cotton ball. Clinique left me disappointed because I heard alot of raves about it helping acne. Take a sample/travel set if you want to try Clinique out.
I bought this last year when the lady recommended this for me. I now use it everyday in the summer. At first I loved it, it sinks in quickly, leaves a white cast but I like it, purely physical sunscreen and not greasy at all! It provides good oil-control for the face but I rather use a bb cream with spf in it. It is REALLY hard to get off the face. Use an oil-based cleanser. NEVER use this for the body. I used it for a month or so everyday and I noticed my skin was getting paler and paler. After I get out of the shower, my legs skin were peeling. I wanted to cry. In the shower, if you look at your skin at a certain angle there is a white cast on it and if you rub it, some white stuff like eraser bits come out... I think the sunscreen is causing it. It is too water-resistant. I am never using this again. If you have to same drying issue, use vaseline clinical therapy intensive rescue. NEVER USE THIS ON THE BODY!
Moisturizers -Shiseido - Pureness Mattifying Moisturizer (Oil Free)
Joy16 7/1/2012 4:20:00 PM
This product is ok. It does what a moisturizer does but no surprises or extra benefits. I use this after cleansing and toning with the Pureness line. It certainly does mattifies my face after using it. One pump is enough for my combination skin. However after 2 hours, my T-zone starts to get oily and I need to blot. This product would be better if the "matifying" would be for the whole day. But not bad. I don't know if I want to repruchase though. The packaging is attractive and easy to use. no smell and is very creamy but feels good. I love that it's oil-free but doesn't stop my oil from coming
Toners -Shiseido - Pureness Balancing Softener alcohol-free
Joy16 7/1/2012 4:15:00 PM
I love this product! This was my very first toner. It refreshes and replenishes the skin after I cleanse it. It hydrates the dry cheeks my cleanser have caused. It doesn't burn my pimples, only tingles that is refreshing. I dislike how the pump is, it squirts out uncontrollably, wasting some product on my fingers. The bottle is quite small so I ran out of this product first before I was even half done with my cleanser and moisturizer (Pureness line). It minimizes my pores and I think helped with my blemishes. It is quite expensive for this small bottle. I use this with the shiseido cotton pads after my cleanser immediately. I only need 1-2 pumps and wipe over face gently and wait for 10 seconds for face to absorb. follow up with the matifying moisturzer. I love how it is alcohol-free, which teenagers need. Will repurchase ::)
Cleansers -Shiseido - Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam
Joy16 7/1/2012 4:09:00 PM
The Shiseido Pureness line was my first skincare regimen. I have the balancing softener and the matifying moisturizer. I have acne-prone combination skin and this product helped gently exfoliate my skin with the tiny micro-beads... But my cheeks are super dry when I dry my face. Pretty good. Will repurchase. The lady at the counter was very helpful and polite, perfect for normal to oily skin. To use, wet face with warm water and you only need a little for the whole face. Rub face gently for about 1-2 minutes concentrating on the oily spots. Rinse off with cool water to close pores.
