Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub

Just decent. I would buy again because it makes my clear skin look really smooth and fresh. It does absolutely nothing for acne though. I broke out with two large pimples, used it for a week and a half and they did not budge one bit. The scent is really nice.
Tinted Moisturizer -Kiss My Face - Tinted Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]

Quite surprised by the negative reviews on this. Maybe I just got lucky. This is the best TM I have tried so far. It is not sticky at all and cooperates with my oily skin. Most TMs make me oiler than I already was, but this melts into my skin and offers SPF 8. The fairest shade "Manilla" is a perfect match for my cool/neutral skin. I am acne prone and this has not irritated my skin at all. Also, it does NOT sink into pores which is terrific as I have a pore problem. Unlike the other reviewers, I had no problems with spreading this or it pooling on my face. I find that if you use a sponge, it applies fabulously. I think the bottle is adorable. It's squeezy plastic with a small dispenser at the bottom. I deducted one lipstick because too much product can come out if not careful and it can sort of get all over the place.
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
JohnnyTruelove2 2/18/2009 7:51:00 PM
I am in love with this, it has been the only thing that has ever controlled my oil. I have tried HE powders (Shiseido, BB, MAC, BE) and this one has worked better than any of the ones I have listed. I can put this on and not get shine for at least 8 hours. I like it as a foundation and as a touch up powder. The coverage is very easy to control. It has a slight scent to it, but it's pleasant. Also, this is GREAT for fair girls. The colors do NOT run dark like the Dream Mousse foundations do, so if you had no luck with those, please try this out. I'm a cool/neutral brunette and I wear Light 4-5 Cream in Winter and Medium 1-2 Sand in Summer with a tan. and it melts into my skin. My favorite thing about this powder is that it never looks chalky or cakey. This HG material for sure and I will continue to keep on buying.
Eh, not a fan. I didn't like the scent, taste OR the price. Heh. I have very lightly pigmented lips, and this didn't add much but a little sparkle to my lips. In fact, it kinda washed me out a bit, it's a little too frosty for my skin tone. I think a warmer toned person would look great in this. I wanted to love it, but my cool toned pale skin didn't. *sigh*
Styling Products -Garnier - Brilliantine Shine Glistening Drops

In love with this! It works fabulous on my long, thick hair. I love the smell, the convenient pump it comes in and how it does not leave a greasy film at all. I can reapply this during the day without any extra grease, and my hair is oil-prone(I have to wash everyday). It's very cheap at $4.99 a bottle. I would highly recommend this for anyone.
I bought this straightener at Sally's Beauty Supply for $60.00. I purchased the pink one and it has 1'' plates. I absolutely LOVE this, I swear by it. I had a Wigo before, and this performs way better than my $100.00 Wigo did. There is a turn wheel for the temperature and at it's hottest it gets up to 410 degrees Fahrenheit, though I use mine at the 320 degree mark. I have long hair and this works great and gets the job done with no damage. My hair looks healthy and shiny after using it. It doesn't leave a "burnt" smell on my hair which is fantastic. People always ask me how I get my hair so straight. It also works well on my bangs. It can get super close to the scalp without any discomfort or burning. Highly recommended for all hair types. Great value for the $$.
Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup
JohnnyTruelove2 2/15/2009 2:23:00 AM
I was suckered in by the cute and compact packaging. Unfortunately, this did not work well for me at all. I bought in in N1, and the color in the container is NOT the color when it is applied on your face, it is MUCH lighter in my case. I put it on very lightly and it dried to cakey and chalky even my roommate was like, "Why is your face so white?" It accentuates every dry spot on my face and makes my skin so flakey, and my skin is oily! I would stay far far away from this. I gave it a 2 because it works alright as a concealer for stubborn red spots. Other than that, save your $13.99 and move on.
Fashion Scoop is a very light, baby pink gloss with shimmer. MAC describes it as "Pale cool baby pink with light pearl" on their website which I think is very accurate. I love the color on my fair skin, it just makes my lips look pouty and plump. It's very sheer, so it will not wash out fair girls who want a light pink lip. The Cremesheen glosses are very creamy and thick, however they are not sticky at all. I love the way these feel on my lips, it's very smooth when I rub my lips together and does not chap them or leave that white film on my lips like the lipglasses do. Highly recommended to those who like MAC glosses but hate the stickiness. The only downside is the price. I paid $18.27 with tax.
I use this everyday. It works great on fair skin and gives it a nice glow. I also use the colors as eyeshadow too. The packaging is nice and durable and cute. :) Highly recommended for fair skinned ladies. (For reference I'm a cool/neutral brunette with brown eyes.)
I'm usually not a fan of body sprays, they always seem to smell cheap on me. This one smells fantastic! It's a warm rose smell. You can smell a hint of the tangerine, IMO, the tangerine makes it "fresh smelling" and keeps it from being too boring of a scent. The bottle is really cute and pretty. This is great just for a casual day out or to go to school in. I got a few compliments on it already. I deducted one lipstick because the scent isn't very long lasting, but I didn't expect it to be.
I actually like this gloss well enough. I wouldn't call it a gloss, it's more like a "lip color" it's not slick or sticky and it's a bit dry like a lipstick. That is why I deducted one lipstick, the texture is a bit dry. However, I do like that it's not super glossy, I tend to think that looks "cheap". The color is great! It's a pink but it has a bit of a peach undertone to it, very flattering on fair skin. It brightens up the whole face. The color lasts for HOURS, too. This is great because I'm a college student who is always busy and I don't have time to keep reapplying. When it does get dry I find that a little bit of lipbalm does the trick to keep my lips hydrated.
No no no. Oily/Combo skin ladies BEWARE. The oil on your skin with oxidize and separate this makeup into blotches on your skin. It is also not pigmented at all. I had to layer and layer to get any coverage (and I have almost perfect skin, just two or three pink acne scars). The worst part of all? The packaging! The brush is awful and inadequate, it's tiny and I would imagine it would take an hour to cover your whole face. It was around $11.99, I would spend the extra $13.00 to purchase BE instead of this stuff. Very disappointed. :(
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Mascara
JohnnyTruelove2 1/15/2009 5:40:00 PM
I'm surprised by the negative reviews for this product, I love this mascara it thickens and lengthens very well for me! The black is a true black, it doesn't flake after an 8 hour day at school and being exposed to wind. It doesn't smudge and I don't find it clumpy. It holds a curl incredibly well and I just love it. The best part? It's totally affordable and easy to find. I'm a huge fan of HE mascaras, but this is the only one that has held a candle to my HE mascaras.
*sigh* I really wanted to like this. The color selection is great and Light-Medium is a perfect match for my cool/neutral skin. The powder gives a GREAT dewy sheen to the skin while leaving the oil under control. I loved it for about a week. I noticed that I was getting cystic acne from it, unfortunately. I was bummed because it didn't sink into my pores and made my skin look great. I switched back to my old makeup and my skin cleared up. Not for acne prone skin, unfortunately.
Lip Gloss -Essence of Beauty - Squeeze Me lip gloss
JohnnyTruelove2 1/15/2009 5:34:00 PM
I bought this at CVS for dirt cheap ($2.99) and it's a good little lipgloss. I have it in Dutch Chocolate which smells JUST LIKE IT. The color is mostly clear with a caramel tint to it. The color can sometimes look a little warm on me, but for the most part it works. It's glossy and non sticky. I deducted one lipstick because the tube is tiny tiny, but for $2.99 it's not that big of a deal to repurchase. I would like to try this in different flavors/colors.
