I hoped this would be my HG Sunscreen, but no, this didn't work for me at all. I really liked that it is fragrance and oxybenzone free, that is 2 things that I look for in my sunscreen that I use daily. For my oily face this didn't go in to my skin, it just left a greasy sticky film on my face. The finish was also too shiny for my liking. Tried it on my neck and chest and the same, to sticky and greasy. A strange thing with this was that it has some (not much) transparent plastic glitter in it, that looks awful when I get it around my eyes, looks like I have a glittery eyeshadow on. I orderd my online, I don't know if I got a bad ex of it....

Toners -Paula's Choice - Clear Targeted Acne Relief Toner with 2% Salicylic Acid for all skin types
rated 5 of 5

I have the normal strenght, and this does miracles for my face. I hate my large pores, and my oily t-zone. My pores get superclogged fast, and my face react to a lot of products, if my face doesn't like it I will end up with big cystic acne on my face. In the past I have used the 2%Bha liquid, but that did make my face feel greasy and sweatlooking. It can be becauce I use to much of it. I also like the 2% Bha gel from Neutrogena that she oftens recommends. But for everyday use this is HG. I havn't had a big problem with breakouts since I started using this. It helps with my big pores but they are still big, I'm looking into going and doing lasertherapy for the skin and see if that is going to help.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment
rated 5 of 5

This is a fantastic product! I love this for my oily-acne prone skintype with large pores. For the most I use this once a week, but when I want to deepclean it I use it twice a week. I put it on and leave it over night, and after an hour my pores are smaller and my skin is smooth with a glow. It also may help with breakouts that I sometimes get, my face has had minimal acne, and that is a huge plus for me. I have recommended this to many of my friends and for the most part they love it as well.

Primer/ Corrector -Paula's Choice - Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 12/5/2012 1:03:00 PM

I agree, this is not as matte and have the oilcontrol as smashbox antishine. This does not cover up/hide pores as great as the old clinique poreminimizer. BUT this does not clog up my poses or break me out as the two others. The oilcontrol and shinecontrol is ok and it does make my pores look smaller. So for that I will call this HG. To be honest, this did not work the first times when I used it. It did nothing. So I stopped using it but at the end of the summer I found it and after readning on cosmeticscop.com how to use it started to work for me. I apply a pea size and dot and roll it on my skin. It can leave a white film but notning bad that a bronzer can't cover.

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion with SPF 15 and Antioxidants
rated 3 of 5
Jocky80 10/1/2012 9:46:00 AM

I have so mixed feelings about this lotion. The texture is awsome for oily acne people, feels light/weightless onn the face. It goes on matte, but more satinmatte on my face, it does a great job of oil and shinecontrol ( with paula's shinestopper). The not so good stuff is the low Spf. I put on my sunscreen early mornings, and I need it to work for 10-14h. A spf 15 goes maybe half of that time, and me with my oliy skin will break down it even earlier. The other stuff is the Oxybenzone. Everything in the Eu that contain (0,5%->) that must have the text "Contains Oxybenzone" because of the cancerrisk. I have many sunscreens for the body that contain that and I use them, but not daily like this. I'm trying 2 physicalsunscreens form skinceaticals, if I don't break out from them I'm going to use them. If not I can always fall back on this one.

Sunscreen -Skinceuticals - Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50
rated 4 of 5
Jocky80 9/30/2012 9:13:00 AM

I agree with all that say that this leaves a white film on the face, yes it does. But for me it isn't a big problem, my face is darker then rest of my body, so it just makes it look more even. for the mattifying part it is only so-so... better than many but not the best. But still I love this sunscreen, just because it works great with my oily-acne face. No breakouts or irritation. Also i love the high Spf, I need that. I put on my sunscreen very early mornings and I want a sunscreen that will work all day, because I'm not going to apply more sunscreen on my face during the day. Also loving that this is a physical sunscreen, Paula Begoun have sad that the are abit better of protectin the face from agespots... I use this together with Paula's choice shinestopper and that does give a matte and shinefree face for 4h, after that I just use some paper to blot my face...

Concealers -Clinique - Airbrush Concealer
rated 4 of 5
Jocky80 11/25/2011 1:44:00 PM

Like other I got this after watching Lisa Elderige on Youtube. This is one concealer that she uses on her self and on her clients and brides ( she says that it photografs well). I got it at duty-free on my trip to Prague and the price wasn't to bad. In stores here that I live it is on the more expensive side... I have oily and acne prone skin and this is one of few concealers that doesn't break me out. It does last quit well but I wouldn't call it longlasting. After a workday I still have it under my eyes but on my problem areas (that also is more oily) it has melted off to some degree. It can crease and go in my fine lines under the eyes if I use a to heavy eyecream, but not as people are going to se. On the Clinique website they say that the coverage is sheer and the finish is illuminating. On me the coverage is more to the light side and it has a sheen but not glittery or sparkly. More semimatte. The only problem that I have with this concealer is the colors. 01 is to pink on me, 02 is to orange, so I got 04 that is to light but with a little bronzer on top it's ok.

Other -Crest - Whitestrips Advanced Seal
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 10/21/2011 4:22:00 PM

You can't buy this in Europe, but I found Isosmile.com and they ship to Finland (free shipping) and for a good price. I didn't use it like it sad on the box, to use it for 14 days and have a hollywood smile, and after 3 uses you will see a whiter smile. I saw a different after the first use, and after the 4th I was happy with the result so I stopped using it and only uses the rest for touchups like once a month. I'm very happy whit my how white my teeth are now and people and friend have seen a differnt. I did feel some pain in the teeth but nothing bad. I do recommend using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth, that will help. The only negative thing with these are that the strips are to small, they don't cover all the teeth that I whant to whiten. So I cut up some of them and put it on my inner teeth.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Pureness Oil Blotting Papers
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 10/13/2011 12:33:00 PM

I have stopped using powder and started using blotting paper instead. Of all brand I have tried so far this is the winner for my oily and acne prone skintype. This does absorb more of the oils and shine on the face than any other blotting paper that I have tried so far. Also a huge plus is that gives a longwearing shine and oil control. Yes they are expensive but they are my HG.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - HD Concealer
rated 3 of 5
Jocky80 8/20/2011 4:50:00 AM

I agree with people saying that it isn't worth the money. Just a basic concealer. I do think that it does a great job concealing stuff ( acne + undereye darkness...), and this is one of few concelers that dosn't make me break out in cystic acne. I does look quite natural on the skin, not heavy or caky looking and a litle goes a very long way. The biggest problem that I have with this is the color. I got it in 340 (for light skin with beige undertones) but on my light-medium skin it looks yellow orange, and it is a pain to get it to look good. For acne it is ok, the yellow helps to neutralize the redness, but if i put on to much I have a yellow breakout insed of an red. If I use it under my eyes I get yellow rakooneyes, and thats not hot....

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15
rated 1 of 5
Jocky80 6/14/2011 1:38:00 PM

I have tried many mineralfoundations in hope of finding my HG, but I think I will stop looking, they don't work for me. I was glad when I saw that BE would come out with a new bismurtoxichloride free and matte foundation. I did wait 1 year to se the feedback before buying it and now I regret it. I don't like the original, but it works better than this on my face. First off all, the shade, I have it in light-medium, because I'm something like that. This isn't to dark/ light but it is to pink for me, and when it oxidizes it evens get more pink. Coverage is sheer, maybe light. I don't need coverage, my skin is ok at this moment, but when I need/want this does zero.... The matte part. It goes on matte, but It doesn't stay that for long, and the oil and shine control isn't the best. Hard to say if it breaks me out, I have only used it 2 times...

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Foot Cream
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 6/14/2011 1:27:00 PM

Yes this can smell like an old lady but this is footcream works for my normal- dry feet. My feet are the only part of my face and body that can get dry or thight feeling, so I use a footcream almost every night before going to bed. I wake up with babysoft feet and I love that. I have tried many many many footcreams from super cheap to expensive and at this moment I'm on tube nr 3. This does take a while to sink in, and I know a friend commented that it leaves a film on the feet. My tip for that is put it on in bed right before going to sleep, and then waking up with soft feet.

Lip Treatments -Jane Iredale - Lip Drink
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 3/31/2011 12:56:00 PM

I love this lipbalm and it's my HG daytime lipbalm. I have been using this daily long over a year now. I'm a lipbalm junkie, I have alot off them and alway looking for the new best thing. But I have to say I haven't found anything that beats this for daytime uva/uvb protection. I live ut in the nordic regions, when the winters are cold and windy and the summers are hot and dry. This has protected my lips from most kinds of weathers, and the irritation and dryness is minimal on my lips! I always have a backup of this at home I can't be without this.

Moisturizers -MD Formulations - Critical Care Calming Gel
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 1/9/2011 1:18:00 PM

This gel is ment to calm down redness and help with rosacea. My skintype is oily and acneprone with some redness (cheeks and nosearea). I didn't buy it for that, mostly because that I read about it in Paula Begoun's books ( it is a paula's pick) and also because it is a lightweight gel that is more safe for my acne prone skintype. I have used the MD formulations Moisture defense antioxidant gel that is a watery gel that works very well for my acne and oily skintype. This is simular but more a gel that also works well for my skintype. No problems with acne or making more oily. For the redness part I do think that it help with my minor redness, both form irritation or the cold weather. A few hours later my face is more even (not so red). I did try this after waxing, putting it on the red and irritated area and yes it did calm it down to some degree. It contains antioxidants, anti-irritans and cell-communicating agents, that is a big plus. It is expensive, the tube is only 30 ml, 20 ml less than most other moisturisers, but I'm going to buy it again. Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Vitus Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Villosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Extract, Fragaria Vasca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Oleifera (Japanese Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Acrylates/C 10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Loose Powders -Vichy - Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder
rated 5 of 5
Jocky80 11/7/2010 2:47:00 PM

I love the Mac prep + prime transparent powder, it is a HG finishing powder that looks beatifully on the skin. The only problem that I had with that was that it didn't have enought oilcontrol for me. This has some of the same benefits as mac one. This is transparent if you don't apply to much (that can make you white-ish). I use a MAC 187 and put it lightly on my bare face. It gives a natural matte finish and it has good oilcontrol. Using this with my Murad oilcontrol mattifier spf 15 and cliniques pore minmizer instant perfector I'm matte for hours. I'm also acneprone and Vichy says that this is noncomedogenic + nonacnegenic and hypoallergenic. That is always a personal thing, everyone is different. I haven't broken out form this and it hasn't irritated my face. I like the formula of this powder, it only contais Talc and a preservative, so I feel that it doesn't contain anything "unnecessary" like oils, binders, emollients, glitters.... The last claim is that it makes foundation waterresistant, that I don't know but my concealer stay on okey true the rain...
