I've had this product for four months and felt like it was a waste of money. Boy, was I wrong! A Benefit consultant sold it to me to conceal my dark discoloration under my right eye. I tried to use it as she explained and hated it. It was lost in the back of my makeup drawer for months. One day I came across Huda Beauty's blog and she said you could use it as a highlighter. Summer is here and I have been trying to "freshen up" my makeup routine. I use it as a highlighter and it looks beautiful. I dab it under my eyes and above my cheeks, bridge of my nose, etc after I put my first light layer of foundation. Then I blend it in with the second layer of foundation and it gives me a beautiful glow. I set it with guerlain meteorites and it lasts all day. I have medium skin (nc30-nc35). I am not sure how it would look on lighter skin tones but I imagine it would be just as beautiful. Bottom line is that I am so happy to fall in love with something that I initially wrote off.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]

I bought this a few weeks ago and wasn't very impressed. I am used to applying my foundation and setting with powder ( because I'm so greasy, I never leave the house without a good dusting of powder). So I finally tried on a Saturday and decided to try with no powder. I mean this is lancome and it must be me if something's going wrong, right? RIGHT! I use my la base primer and applied two pumps of foundation all over. I wasn't completely happy at first and planned on re- doing my makeup when I got home from errands. But after applying the rest of my face and getting dressed, my face looked so soft and flawless. I had to keep checking while I was out to make sure I still had makeup on because it felt like I had nothing on. This is so different than all my other full coverage foundations. My skin looks so healthy when I wear this. I've worn this for about 10 hours in humid Hawaii and it lasts. The finish becomes more dewy as the day goes on, but that is the fault of my oily face. I've come to embrace this look, instead of fighting shine completely (I'd never win), I search for dewy instead of slickster. This foundation looks dewy at the end of the day. I feel comfortable going out even after 8 hours of wearing it. For me, slickster is MUFE HD without touch ups throughout the day.

Primer/ Corrector -E.L.F. - Mineral Infused Face Primer

I love this primer!!! It had been sitting unopened for almost a year, I was scared to use something so cheap all over my face. But after slowly getting into some drugstore makeup with the help of some makeup blogs and YouTube gurus, I decided to give it a go. I have very oily skin and nothing works to keep my face matte all day. But this primer, like my smashbox, lancome, and be primetime, makes my face more dewy looking at the end of the day, not slick and greasy. It is so cheap so I just deal with the pump that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It definitely never works for more than 2/3 of the bottle. Just try it. I am prone to breakouts and havent noticed any bad reactions. Upd

Expensive, but definitely worth every penny. I bought this about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. I was in search of a concealer to hide this horrible discoloration under my right eye. People sometimes think its a black eye on bad days and running eyeliner or mascara on good days. I had been using the time balm concealer or kat Von d tatoo concealer. It never really hid it, just made it lighter. I came to grips that I would just have to live with it. After returning some Christmas sweaters :), I found myself at the lancome counter, drooling over mascara and eye palettes. The girl at the counter was super nice and she suggested I try this under-eye concealer. She kept talking about how it was waterproof and that would make all the difference for the coverage I was looking for. She was absolutely right. You cannot see my 'black eye' at all now. It gives me a completely different (fresher) look. Now i can smudge my eyeliner uner my lower lash line and not look like i've had a rough night. This was my first lancome purchase besides bi-facil. Somehow I thought it was too old lady and stuffy for my tastes. I guess I made up reasons because it seemed to high end. Well now I know why people love this.brand. I ordered the primer and a foundation since. I have high hopes for these two.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

My first MAC purchase was the mineralize skin finish natural in medium plus about a month ago. For some reason, I was against buying this brand. Please don't hate me for saying this, but I thought it was for little girls. Boy was I wrong, I could have been using the perfect foundation this whole time, so thats what I get for being stupid. After having a baby a year ago, my skin got nuts and my chin is really dark for some reason, so I've been searching for a full coverage foundation. My 'HG' is cover fx cream foundation in m60. I have tried so many, from high end to drugstore. So after I realized MSFN was one of the most amazing powders ever, I ended up at the Mac counter and picked this up in nc35. I went home and applied with my elf powder brush and set with my MSFN. Perfection. I felt that my powder brush soaked up a lot of product, so I've been using my sigma angled kabuki and the results are even better. Only 1 1/2 pumps and no weird dark chin and acne scars. Yay!!!!!!!! I dot all over, concealer first. Then 'smooth' it on my skin with my angled kabuki. Then I buff with that short flat top buffer from coastal scents, just on my cheeks where my pores are larger ( not sure if this does anything, but it makes me feel good). Then I let it set while I do my eyebrows, then my blush. Then I dust MSFN all over. Then buff my cheeks again ;). Then I conceal dark circles. Sounds like a lot, but I all takes about 20 min, sometimes 25. So maybe now i'll give in and pick up the Mac 187 or something. Lesson learned...don't be so stupid and make things up before you try it out.

Foundations -Cover FX - COVER FX

My number one foundation. I was going through my makeup drawer and realized I have about 30 bottles of foundation, most are drugstore and 8 are high end. I'm Korean with pretty oily skin. I have acne scarring and a lot of redness all around the center of my face. I have hyper pigmentation on my chin after having my baby. So needless to say, I like to use full coverage foundations. Although I experiment and change what I'm wearing daily, this is the foundation I use when I want to look extra pretty. I feel that it gives me a flawless face while still maintaing a semi-natural look. If that makes any sense. I mean, you can tell I have makeup on, but it doesn't look like my skin is as bad as it really is. It just looks like fresh pretty makeup. I hope someone gets what I mean. I apply with my elf powder brush. A little at a time, that is the trick to this. Please do the scoop out of the pan thing. If not just to be sanitary, do this so you don't waste your expensive product and so you don't walk around with a pound of makeup on. Stipple all over so you get a little product everywhere and buff away. Dont go too hard, just lightly. I made this mistake in the beginning and almost gave up on this treasure. I heard and read that you need, need, need the setting powder, but I use anything I'm into at the moment. Lately it is loreal translucide, MSFN, and Laura geller's balance n brighten. I've also read that this transfers like crazy, just don't over do the application. There will still be slight transferring, but hey, it's cream. Sorry to go on and on, but if you are going to try this out, I just hope u give it a chance and really learn to work with it. Once u figure it out, application will be under 10 minutes. If you are trying to hide imperfect skin, this is the one. I wear it from 6 am until about 8 pm and I look great. Obviously not super fresh at 8 pm, but still presentable. . Check out my pic above, this is about 4 hours in.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skin Finish Natural - Medium Plus

Wow...I don't know why I waited so long. What is wrong with me? For some reason, I wasn't really interested in trying any Mac products. But I was out on a mission to find the perfect setting powder. I own and use all different types of foundations and wasn't gettin the finish I wanted. My current faves are mufe hd, mufe mat velvet, cover fx cream foundation and smash box studio skin. I always use my elf powder brush to apply and always get flawless results. At least that's what I thought. I have set each foundation with my newly purchased MSFN, and I am amazed. It looks a litlle powdery for the first couple minutes, but by the time I am done applying my blush, my skin looks so soft, with a healthy glow. I do get a little oily throughout the day, but with this powder, it's more of a dewy look than greasy. I do no touch ups except lips during my 10 hour days. I have been getting a lot of compliments and it's definitely my new powder!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Jlhiga83 12/27/2011 4:47:00 PM

I love this foundation. I have oily, acne prone skin. If there is not a pimple or two I am covering up, I am definitely dealing with scars they leave behind. I also have broken capillaries on my cheeks. I applied this in two thin layers using my ELF powder brush. I used a tiny, tiny dab of Kat Von D tatoo concealer on my under eye circles and acne scars and blended with my Sigma F80, let dry while drawing my eyesbrows (3-5 min.) and set with my MSFN. It lasted all day long, I was out with my family running errands (this means hauling baby and running after 7 year old boy) and my skin still looked beautiful 8 hours later. I highly reccommend this. Oh...you have to shake before use and squeeze the sides of the bottle in (fingers on the skinniest sides) while opening so it doesn't ooze all over the place.
