Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation

My favorite foundation of all time. After years of skipping from one foundation to another, trying to find one that gives me consistent results, staying power, a matte finish and doesn't irritate my skin, I finally found what I consider the best foundation available. I can apply this with my finger-tips but get better results with a damp sponge (love MAC Fix-It spray for dampening sponges), particularly around my eyes wear any matte finish can look drying if not applied just right. I have combination skin with mild rosacea around the bridge of my nose and this works wonderful for coverage without irritating my skin. I also can be acne-prone around my chin which can become extremely oily and MUFE Mat Velvet+ has worked best for keeping a matte uniform finish all day. I do use a water based moisturizing primer with this for best results. If you have a Sephora in your area, stop in and get a sample before you buy. Try it out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you like matte finish foundations.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation

I haven't found a MUFE product that I didn't like. There is a trick to applying the HD Foundation...It must be applied over a compatible primer, if not, you're going to get terrible wear and results. This is why I gave it four stars instead of five, it's not all-purpose primer friendly. This MUFE HD foundation is water and silicone based and needs the same water/silicone based primer. If used with a oil, moisturizing, or all-purpose primer, it will not wear well and will oxidize. Used with MUFE HD primer or another brand of water/silicone based primer it is outstanding in coverage and wear. I blend with damp cosmetic sponge as I have found that MUFE foundations take quite a bit of time to apply with a brush stippling technique. If you use MUFE Mat Velvet+, probably should stay with that foundation as I find it still superior to the new MUFE HD Foundation.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Stain Balm - Crush

I really like this lip stain balm. It's smooth and silky with no bad taste or fragrance. I'd give it five stars if wore just a bit longer, but I still really like the color and feel. It doesn't dry out my lips like my Benefit Bene-Tint does, which now lays in the back of my makeup drawer unused. I wear this alone, as a base and also love the look I get wearing a sheer coat of NYX Glam Aqua Luxe over it.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals - Purifying Facial Cleanser

I'm surprised by how many poor product ratings this received. I have super sensitive skin and even at fifty years old I'm still prone to break-outs now and then. I use this sparingly in the morning, rinse well and my face feels fresh and clean. I haven't had near the break-outs with this as I have had with much more expensive products. One thing I would suggest with any facial cleansing product, particularly product with lots of natural ingredients is rinse, rinse and rinse again well.

This looks great for a few hours but then turns a muted green color. It wears terrible and after half a day looks terrible and unnatural.

I have the Banana Split highlighter/blush and it is fantastic! It's a blend of cool, neutral and warm tones all in one and is so easy to apply and blend. This is one of those rare cosmetics that is an everyday go to and is perfectly suited for any skin tone and any skin type. Super easy to contour and highlight with. Looks beautiful in sunlight. I've even used it as an eyeshadow and it looks great for a soft light look.

Concealers -Maybelline - Super Stay 24 Hour Concealer

Heavy and drying. Looks terrible after a few hours. Works better for contouring but not as a concealer. I have very few lines around my eyes but this product managed to find the few I do have and accentuated them in an unflattering way. Yuck.

Eye Shadow -Avon - True Color Eyeshadow Quad - ALL SHADES

Avon True Color Eyeshadow is the best pigmented eyeshadows I've ever used. The quad sets are wonderful. It blends well and the colors are rich and vibrant. I love my MAC eyeshadows but find myself using the Avon True Color more than my MACs. It wears better and the color stays true all day.

Lipstick -NYX - AURORA Aqua Luxe Glam Lipstick

I own every color of NYX Glam Aqua Luxe lipsticks and absolutely love them. I don't like lip gloss as it feel heavy and sticky. This is weightless, super shimmery and looks fabulous for any age. I wear it sheer alone and over my regular lipstick to add a glossy shimmery look that also highlights to the appearance of a fuller lip. It does need to be re-applied after eating and maybe half way through the day, but that's not a big deal to me.

Cleansers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Cleansing Oil

I haven't been a fan of oil based cleaners until now. The few I've tried in the past seemed to irritate my skin, cause breakouts on my chin and had no benefit to my skin. I received Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil as a deluxe sample in a binge haul from Sephora. Truth is, I had never heard of the Josie Maran brand before. A few weeks later I tried it as part of my face cleansing routine before going to bed. The first night I tried it I liked the feel of it as I gently massaged it in. (Not on my eyes, only gentle eye makeup remover for my eyes.) The smell of citrus was wonderful and I liked the viscosity of the oil, thick and then it becomes smooth and silky with the warmth of my hands. I normally rinse/flush my face very well, finish with a warm steamy wash cloth over my face for a minute and then calm my skin with one of my favorite face toners around my chin to calm my skin. I used the oil cleanser for a few nights with nothing seemingly special about it. On the fourth night after my routine my skin just felt different, really clean, firm but not tight and really nice. I went to examine my skin a little more carefully and closer and immediately noticed that the problem pores around my chin area were smaller and smoother looking. The pores also looked empty, if that makes sense. That alone was impressive to me. But, I also have mild rosacea across the bridge of my nose and slightly into my cheeks...It was dramatically improved, still slightly pinkish looking, but super smooth and soft. I was sold and delighted. I ordered the full sized bottle with a few extra Josie Maran products that same night. It's been about three weeks and my skin hasn't looked this good in a long time. I've even had a few days where I didn't use foundation only a little powder and blush and my skin looked fresh and calm. I truly do love this product and for the first time ever purchased a full product from trying a sample.
