Bronzers -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess
rated 1 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 7:18:00 AM

This is a review for the EL bronze goddess soft matte bronzer in no. 01. First of all, let me just say this bronzer look very orangey on my medium skin tone. It is not matte. It has got shimmers on the pan but when you applied that on, the shimmer doesn’t really show up. But still, it doesn’t give me that matte look either. The staying power of this bronzer is great though. I don’t know what’s in this product that is breaking me out. It looks muddy and dirty on me. It makes me look very unnatural and weird. Overall, I don’t like this bronzer and definitely wouldn’t repurchase.

Blush -Estee Lauder - Signature Silky Powder Blush Nude Rose
rated 1 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 7:07:00 AM

Hate! Hate! Hate this blush so muchhh!!! It makes my red cheek (because of acne scars) looks more red! It shows up my scars even more! I used my foundation and concealer as usual, and as soon as I apply this blush on top of my cheekbones, it shows up my scars. Seriously, this has never ever happened to me with all my other blushes. I don’t know what’s in this product that’s making my red scars more obvious. It really is disturbing my long lasting foundation& concealer even if i have set it up with powder. No radiant look from this blush! Getting clogged pores from this too. Arghh.. this product is a total disappointment for me. I definitely wouldn’t repurchase. The colour looks flattering on the pan, making me think it would look really good and natural on me! But it actually isn’t. This product is just not for me. It might look really gorgeous on people blessed with great skin, without the scarring that I have.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 6:50:00 AM

Love this product!!!! I use fix+ for pretty much everything: 1) I use it as a mixing medium for my e/s. It really makes my e/s looks more vibrant. It is very great for pigments too. I just spray the fix+ on my brush and dip it in the pigments and the pigments really stick to my skin and it also provides better colour pay- off. 2) I also use it for toning my blushes down. Sometimes I can go wrong with my blushes by applying it too much. So I use fix+ to blend and tone it down using MAC 182 kabuki brush. 3) I use this to blend bronzer and blushes together. It provides me with more natural look. 4) When I need some moisture on my face, I spray this on. It makes me feels fresh. 5) This product is somehow giving me that radiant look when I use it to tone my makeup down. 6) I spray this on my foundation brush and apply my foundation. It reduces the amount of liquid foundation that I use and makes my skin looks more natural, radiant. Not heavy looking of foundation. I also use this if I want to go light with my make up application. This product has fragrance in it. It smells somehow like cucumber mixed with something. The only downside to this product is probably when I use this for e/s. It does provide me with better color pay-off and more vibrant colours, but it is SO SO HARD to blend it afterwards. I really have a hard time blending the e/s. But other than that, I still love this product and would definitely repurchase.

Sunscreen -Clinique - City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum 25 SPF
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 6:29:00 AM

This sunscreen has SPF 25 in it. It is oil free (that’s one thing I love about this sunscreen) and it is fragrance free. I have never experience breakouts with this. No pimples, nothing! It is silicone based primer and it is somehow tinted. I don’t like the fact that it is tinted though. I have oily skin and it helps absorbs my excess oil. I use this as a primer below my foundation and other makeup application too. To be honest, I don’t really like it as a primer. It doesn’t really make my makeup stays on for long. At the end of the day (7-9 hours of application) it leaves my skin feeling greasy and not fresh at all (even though I use blotting papers throughout the day). Anyways, I still like this product as a sunscreen itself.

Primer/ Corrector -Lancome - La Base Pro
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 6:15:00 AM

This lancome la base pro is silicone based. It feels like gel and it is transparent. It feels very silky on the skin. It is oil free and labels non- comedogenic. What I really like about this product is that, it doesn’t actually break me out! No pimples, nothing! I have an extremely sensitive, acne prone skin so it is important for me to look for something that doesn’t clog my pores. It is a perfecting makeup primer and gives smoothing effect. It does reduce the appearance of imperfections but it doesn’t do much in terms of wrinkles and pores reduction. This is more like a primer for a radiant, smooth and long lasting effect. It does gives a radiant healthy look and it makes my makeup stays on for long. It does do what it claims, it really makes my foundation colour stay true and vibrant. It prepares my skin and makes it easy to apply foundation. I have pitted scars on me, and this primer is actually helping smoothing it out by filling in the hole or the space. I found out that this primer actually help the foundation to sit on top of the primer and prevents it from getting into the pitted scars if that makes sense? It works as protective barrier. If you are looking for a matte primer, then this product is not for you. This primer gives you a satin finish. I have oily skin, and I don’t think this product absorbs my oil. I still need to use blotting papers throughout the day. I love the packaging. It is a 3 o.z and it comes with a pump. This primer is not sticky, and it doesn’t have smell in it. The only downside to this product is probably because it doesn’t have SPF. I would really love it if they’ve got SPF in it. I would definitely repurchase though.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner Gel Dipdown
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 5:58:00 AM

I always use this eyeliner whenever I want to look natural. It is a brown gel eyeliner that is creamy and easy to apply. The brown is not really dark brown and isn’t too light either. It is just perfect if you want to achieve neutral and natural look. I usually apply this eyeliner with MAC 266 brush and it is super easy to wing it out. The staying power is great. I use powder eye shadow on top of it to absorb any moisture I might have providing me with longer staying power. I never experience smudging when using this eyeliner. Just make sure you put the lid back on once you finish using it because it gets dry so easily.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blitz and Glitz
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 5:49:00 AM

This is creamy grey gel eyeliner. In my opinion, it is not as grey. It is more like black, just not as intense. If you use MAC fluidline in blacktrack, it is probably 25%- 30% less black. But hey, who can even recognise that??? It might be a better option for people who want to go a bit natural. If I want to go light with my makeup, I would reach for this eyeliner. I only apply this on my upper lash line because I am afraid it would irritate my eyes if I apply it on my lower lash line and waterline. The staying power is great too (I usually set it up with eye shadows on top. The powder eye shadows would absorb any moisture you might have providing you with longer staying power). It never smudges on me too. But you need to make sure you put the lid back on after you finish using it as it gets dry very easily. I love MAC fluidline collection but I wouldn’t repurchase this shade as I can’t see much of a difference compared with blacktrack and I don’t use this often.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 5:34:00 AM

I find myself always reaching for this eyeliner. It is a black gel eyeliner that is creamy and easy to apply. It is not the blackest black eyeliner you could find on the market though. I usually apply it using MAC 266 angled brush. It is very easy to achieve that winged eye look. I don’t usually apply gel eyeliner on my lower lash line because I’m afraid it would irritate my eyes. So I only use this on my upper lash line. You can easily adjust how bold or thin you want the line to be. The staying power is great especially if you set it up with powder (black eye shadow) on top as it will absorb any moisture that you might have. I never experienced any smudging or anything. The only downside to gel eyeliner is probably it could get dry very easily. But that could be solve if you ensure you put the lid back after you finish using it.

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 5:19:00 AM

Smolder is a very very black eyeliner. It is super great for smokey eyes. Its creamy consistency makes it very easy to apply. This has been my favourite eyeliner ever since i got it. The staying power is great too. And no, it is NOT waterproof. The only downside is probably because you can easily go wrong with this eyeliner. I never apply this on my top lash line (total mess if i do LOL). I only apply it on my lower lash line and waterline. I don't really need to re- apply it throughout the day and this eyeliner never smudged on me (may be it is because i set it up with black eyeshadow to absorb any moisture it might have). I would definitely repurchase once i ran out of this. It is the perfect eyeliner if you want to achieve that BOLD look.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte Lipstick - #1 Nude Beige
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 1:18:00 AM

I love this YSL rouge volupte texture. It is very creamyyyyyy!! so easy to apply, and a very little goes along way. this is a pinkish beige shade. A pink nude shade. It has scent on it and i love the scent. the scent makes the lipsticks looks and smells delicious. lol. I love this colour. I feel like barbie when i use this. LOL. the staying power is sucks though. so if you are someone that prefer lipsticks with long staying power, this product is not for you. I love the packaging too. it comes with a very small mirror that i hardly use (its too freakin small). YSL comes with a very wide range of beautiful, adorable colours.

Lip Liners -Chanel - Precision Lip Definer Nude
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 1:00:00 AM

first of all, let me just say, this is not nude at all! the colour is more like reddish brown in a natural way. I still like it though, but i prefer something more nude.. the texture is very creamy, so easy to apply. It really accentuate my cupids bow and makes my lips looks fuller. the staying power is great too. if you don't eat or drink, it would stay on for approximately 3- 4 hours. It has a bit of shimmer in it and i believe it has got something to do with reflecting and making an illusion of a fuller lips. But don't worry, you couldn't even see the shimmer when it is applied to your lips. i'm not a big fans of very shimmery products either. the lipliner comes with a brush on the other side. The brush is also great for applying lipsticks and blending the lipliner. Overall, i love this product but i don't think i am going to repurchase in this shade. I would deinitely try another shade because i love the creamy texture and the staying power of this lip liner.

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Fresque
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 10/24/2009 12:26:00 AM

Fresque is a peachy pink blush that is adorable. I love this shade as it gives me a fresh look, just as the name of the shade itself. Chanel JC blushes never cause me any breakouts (i have acne prone, senstive skin). The texture is great too. I am reviewing the europe version btw. it gives me a very radiant look. it is kind of shimmery on the pan but once applied on the face, i can hardly see the shimmer, all i see is just a very radiant cheek. I use Brume D'or on the hollow (below my cheekbones) and Fresque on my cheekbones if i want a natural look yet a very sculpted cheekbones. I don't really have cheekbones so i really need to fake one. LOL. I love the packaging too. The brush that comes with it is too small though. The only downside to this product is that it doesn't really show up in medium skin tone like me. I need to re- apply this shade for like 3 times to really get the colour. I don't mind though, because it is such a pretty colour. :)

Loose Powders -Becca - Fine Loose Finishing Powder
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/23/2009 11:53:00 PM

i love this powder! It is very finely milled and it gives you good coverage with a very natural finish. I don't look cakey at all. the first 15 mins it looks matte and kinda heavy, but after that, it really looks like my own skin. leaving no traces of powder at all. It makes me look like i'm glowing from within! LOL. Becca has a great selection of colour and I am using the powder in the shade mocha. It really suits my skintone and it suits the stick foundation in the shade honeycomb too. So far, i've not had any breakouts from this powder. the only downside of this powder is that, it doesn't really locked up the foundation as it is mentioned in the website. I used this powder on top of the stick foundation and i can still see the foundation on my fingers when i touch my face barely. so i can't imagine how could they say the product is water resistant if i can still see and feel the foundation on my finger?? I am a big fans of long lasting products so yea.. this is somehow dissapointing. I am not the big fans of the alien spaceship pacakaging though. LOL. Overall, i would still repurchase because of the natural finish and the colour that suits me perfectly.

Crème -Becca - Stick Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Jexxie123 10/23/2009 11:32:00 PM

So i've used this product for the whole week now and I am soooo loving it!!!at first i am so afraid of it would cause me breakout as i've never use cream products before. I have acne prone skin and it is very sensitive. And i am so glad that i doesn't cause me any breakout. this foundation gives natural, luminous, and radiant finish. i feel like its my own skin. the product melts right into my skin living it look so natural. I use this in the shade honeycomb and it match my skin tone perfectly. seriously, BECCA has a very wide range of colour selection and i am sure you would fall in one of the shade. I've never found any shade of foundation that match my neck and the rest of my body. and i am glad i actually found one. :) The great thing about this product too is that, it does have SPF 30 so i don't usually use any extra sunscreen underneath. I always use long lasting foundation so i think the staying power of this stick foundation is not that great! probably it would stay for about 4-6 hours depending on the activities and the weather. I only use this foundation when i go out for a short- medium time. If i am going to be out the whole day, i wouldn't use this stick foundation. I prefer something like EL DW as it is a long lasting foundation and would stay all day. The coverage is also good. it provides you medium to full coverage. You can even go light with this foundation depending on how much you use. I have acne scarring here and there and i also have big pimples occasionally. I should say this foundation doesn't cover any of the big pimples and covers a bit of the scars. These days i feel better about my skin so i don't really need to cover my scars that much. Becca has a very wide colour selection. The packaging is great as it doesn't make a total mess. u can easily erase the mess. In terms of price, i think this foundation is very pricey for the amount that we get. I've only used the stick for a week and already i can see the stick is reducing by kinda "many" amount. Overall, i still love this foundation (as it is so hard to look for a foundation that exactly match your skin tone and the rest of your body) and would definitely repurchase. Oh.. i forgot to mention that i also hate that this product is not as creamy making it kinda hard to apply (it is kind of dry). I would really love it if it is more creamy.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex
rated 5 of 5
Jexxie123 9/18/2009 10:26:00 PM

I have used this product for a month now and I am so in love with this product. I used the ANR Protctive recovery complex before (they discontinued this product and changed it to the synchronized recovery complex instead) and I am also pleased with the product. So what is the difference between the older and the newer version of ANR? well, the older version is thicker than the synchronized. It is more hydrating where as the synchronized is thinner and not as hydrating. I have a combination skin and I love this product more than the older version. This product really brightens my complexion and evens out my skin tone. I can't live a night without using this. I remember one time, me and my friends were going to sleep over at my friends place because we went home really late and what was on my mind is this product. I dont want to sleep without this product because I am getting so addicted to it. I ended up going back home, cleaned my face and went to sleep with this product. The reason is because, i dont want to wake up in the morning looking tired and have "course/ rough" skin. In terms of wrinkle reduction, I can't say much about it because I am still in my 19th and I dont have much wrinkles going on my face. I do have some wrinkles on my forehead and laugh lines which i really hate. I find that using this product makes my skin more tight and my laugh lines is reducing like 85%. I realized that my laugh lines isn't showing as it used to be. But i use this product more to brighen up my complexion, softens my skin, reduce my acne scars, and more into preventing future wrinkles. This product really softens my skin no matter how horrible it was. I also have very bad "pitted" acne scarring which i can't do much about it because it's pitted. The protective ANR doesn't do much for me but I find that this Synchronized ANR works much better to recover my pitted skin. What i meant by recover is that, my skin looks growing and not as pitted as it used to be if that makes sense? And the fact that this product lightens up my acne scars makes me love this product even more. I have very sensitive acne- prone skin and both the protective ANR and synchronized ANR doesn't broke me up. and I'm happy for that too.Its kinda hard for me to find something that doesn't break me out because my skin is super extra sensitive. It also doesn't cause me any redness. I am TOTALLY satisfied with this product. Anyways, i can't say enough about this unbelievably amazing product. I will definitely REPURCHASE once i finish up this whole 50ml bottle. can't imagine a night without it. So yea, will update once i finish this up.
